Arkania

Arkania was known for a variety of things, but the most important distinction was the pure specialization in biochemical experimentation and genetical modification, in both those fields the Arkanians were on par with say Khomm and Kamino. Adasca BioChemical was the premiere company of the planet which organized most if not all efforts and developments, and today the Lady Adasca was busy with an inspection of the facilities.
They had just managed to procure a shipment of Spaarti Cylinders, the location from which they had taken it… wasn’t exactly important at this point in time, but it had been difficult to say the least, these days the Spaarti Cylinders were heavily regulated. The Sith controlled Khomm, Kamino didn’t dabble in Spaarti Cylinders and the rest were all ancient relics of old times.
So the fact that they had been able to get their hands on them? A thing of beauty. This would go a long way in the further development of new Arkanian Offshoots- some Arkanians, the pure blooded ones wished to eliminate them for some reason. Lady Adasca realized that such a thing wasn’t feasible, the Republic would never stand for it and they were useful, who else would do the jobs that they did right now?
Droids? Isn’t that the joke of the century.
It would be in this facility that the Jeedai Master would find the Lady of Arkania, not that Arkana knew of the visit just yet. But that would soon change.

What was it, 860 years ago now? Kana had caught whiff of a rumor after overhearing senators speak in hush-hush about some plot of theirs on Arkania. Normally not one to poke her nose in the business of others something about that day had made her investigate it. After all, just the one plot in the senate could lead to more trouble than need be. Because speaking of 860 years ago, that was the exact same thing that had happened. It was how an Empire was born.

No, The Empire.

She would lie if she claimed she didn’t have a quiet admiration for it. The overthrowing of a galactic body, usurping it and twisting it into something else. There was something oddly interesting about it. Or maybe she just liked the E-11 rifle for some reason and tried to find a reason why she did so. Both seemed like perfectly reasonable reasons.

But it didn’t matter, empires or no she was standing outside the tiny glass gateways to a giant facility. The Adasca Research Facility to be more specific. Oh yes, much like the empire they were up to things that with good reason would worry any jedi with a memory and knowledge of ancient history.

“Good evening. Master Jedi. We have awaited your arrival for quite some time now.” A protocol droid would approach her.

An alarming echo from the past. Kana lowered the hood of her cloak to show herself. “Have you now?”

“Yes, let us take you to Lady Adasca right away.”

No time wasted on small talk it would seem. A certain tint of apprehensiveness fell over the Jedi Master. No, this wasn’t what she wanted to see, or hear, or do, but a repetition of ancient history didn’t seem like too far of a shot with the way things seemed to be going with the war.

“Lady Adasca!” The duo approached the ‘royal highness.’ “Jedi Master Kana Truden of the Republic.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Kana extended her hand in a handshake. Far too few cultures actually did the bowing thing. For all Kana knew this woman would take offense to not getting a handshake.

From her nose down the Lady Adasca studied that professed hand extended and for a moment she wasn’t entirely too sure what the Master Jedi was implying with the gesture. Was this some sort of insult? Did she truly believe that she should take her hand and kiss it? Or was there some sort of strange Jedi ritual of which Arkana simply wasn’t aware of? Her sister had never spoken of it, and yet Elizie wasn’t exactly the kind of woman that she would trust in these matters.

Not after she had departed and left them, at least.

Eventually though, after a few precious moments passed and [member="Kana Truden"] would get the instinctive sense that some kind of breach in conduct was made, Arkana extended her hand and accepted the handshake, giving it a neutral shake.

Quite so, Master Jedi.’ the Lady would answer answer with something of wry amusement made apparent at the corner of her lips. ‘You wished to inquire upon our facilities here, if I am not mistaken?

Oh she knew exactly why Kana was here, the rumors of a clone-bred army for the Republic was not a new thing, those whispers had gone around through the metaphorical chambers for quite a while now. Whilst Arkana knew that her people had nothing to do with this, she knew that one could not simply trust the words of those unknown to you.

It was this that she could at least respect.

Right. Arkanians and cluelessness seemed to go hand in hand. Perhaps the master should have bowed by she had already committed. The wait for a hand to touch hers had never felt as awkward. Royalty without knowledge and/or care of common etiquette. Then again, Jedi liked to sit around their temples and not really give a damn about a majority of the rest of the galaxy, seemingly. Apples hardly fall too far from the tree, perhaps.

“I did, your highness.” Kana bowed out of formality. Smooth recovery? Hardly. “I’m looking into a manner of clones being... Bred, created, wh-” She couldn’t exactly go all casual and say ‘whatever’ about it. “-which has led me here to Arkania.”

“The trace don’t necessarily lead to you, but the traces leads to the planet of which you hold great influence as senator.” Eyes darted across the floor for a second. “I was hoping to ask you about information, if you have any as well as get more insight to these kind of facilities.” Then went up to seek as much of eye contact as you could seek with an Arkanian. “Jedi don’t have the best of reputation with clones. I am sure you can understand my worry.”

Or not. Question was if senators even really cared about 19BBY and Order 66. At times it really seemed like they didn’t.
