Shardbearer by Ari Ibarra

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Appearance adapts to fit the will of the bearer, i.e. may be a simple longsword or an ostentacious greatweapon.
  • Can be shaped into other bladed weapon types like lances, spears, axes, or more exotic types.
  • The form and shape of the blade may vary between summons, but remains locked until it is dismissed again.
  • Bound to a talisman, amulet, ring, or other inanimate object of the wielder's choosing.
  • Can be summoned even by those not gifted with a sensitivity in the Force.
  • Summoned through a simple mental command while wearing the bound object.
STRENGTHS
  • Unnaturally sharp and capable of cutting any solid materials, though cutting power reduces in proportion to increased material density.
  • It can cut through ordinary weapons and materials that a lightsaber couldn't (e.g. cortosis-weave enhanced vibroblades).
  • Riteblades themselves are virtually impossible to detect until summoned.
  • Supreme resistance to bending, breaking, or shattering; including the ability to withstand lightsabers.
  • Can be summoned in various shapes and sizes, though remains in that shape until dismissed.
  • Much, much lighter than typical swords.
WEAKNESSES
  • Cannot be summoned instantly, typically requires 5-10 seconds to take shape (minimum) and longer if it hasn't been summoned in a while.
  • Cannot change shape once summoned, and must instead be dismissed and resummoned to change its form.
  • The bound object becomes a useless trinket within Force Nullification fields (e.g. Ysalamiri) and takes longer to summon the blade within Force Weaknening fields (e.g. Void Stone).
  • Dissipate into air within Force Nullification fields (e.g. Ysalamiri) and become increasingly brittle within Force Weakening fields (e.g. Void Stone).
  • A blade may pierce an armour-thick plate of durasteel with ease, but will take significantly more effort to cut through a sheet of mandalorian iron of the same thickness.
  • Materials resistant to the Force, such as those imbued with it (e.g. sith swords, Force imbued blades), are capable of withstanding the blade. Mechanically analogous to lightsaber resistance.
DESCRIPTION
Ancient Mist-Weavers knew of techniques to shape the Force into fabrics, and the dark side cult of the Nightsisters knew to conjure spectral weapons from green mists. The Bando Gora Mystics have evolved these practices into a combination of those arts. By weaving invisible strands of Force energy they can create a lattice-work that forms a "skeleton" of an object, then through the application of conjuration techniques they can give a body to that skeleton, forming a solid object that is many times more durable than ordinary materials.

With this talent, they have imbued thirty-one (31) trinkets with special rites. These trinkets are given to the participants of the First Galactic Kaggath and function as conjuring trinkets for spectral blades--intangible strands of the Force coalesced into solid matter and shaped into bladed weapons. With a thought from the trinket-holder, the blade begins to coalesce, seemingly from nothing, over a period of a few seconds. The blade is supremely resistant to damage and capable of cutting through practically any object, though the effort required increases the more dense the material is.

The individuals who were presented with a trinket--in a form of their choosing--capable of summoning a Riteblade are the following thirty-one:
