The need for a dedicated carrier, as determined by ace combat pilot Lady Commander Relina Zhan, yielded the Mist-Class Carrier. Among the largest ships in the Hapan Royal Navy, the Mist Carrier is shaped like a giant capital Omega with the engines located on the trailing nacelles. Four hangar bays, two fore and two aft, serve to house several squadrons of fighters, bombers, and even small support ships. Each hangar bay sports three tractor beam projectors capable of snagging ships the size of a freighter or smaller easily at range as well as significantly influencing any ship less massive than itself. However, it is slow, not terribly maneuverable, and is armed primarily for defense. Its offensive capability serves only a support or standoff role, relying on much more heavily armed warships, fighters, and bombers to do all the real damage in a naval engagement. Beyond this, the Mist-class Carrier serves the role of an AWACS with logistical support facilitated by long range sensors and electronic warfare suites.
