Mirage Mittens

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: To submit a Sithspawn species engineered by Lucette Fortan-Raaf for narrative and combat roleplay across the Chaos galaxy. These creatures serve as stealth predators, assassination tools, warbeasts, and personal companions, blending beauty with terror in Lucette's signature style.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Mirage Mittens (Umbrafel Subspecies)
  • Designation: Semi-Sentient
  • Origins: Vanquo
  • Average Lifespan: 30-40 standard years
  • Estimated Population: Rare (Multiple cloned/engineered lines, each small in number)
  • Description: Mirage Mittens are bio-alchemically engineered Sithspawn felines, blending panther-like grace with Sith alchemy, Force-sensitive mutations, and displacement-based stealth technologies. Born from the mind of Lucette Fortan-Raaf, they are as elegant as they are lethal, existing in several bespoke variants tailored for unique tactical roles. The Umbrafel subspecies stands out as the apex predator among them—a sleek, Cheshire-grinning nightmare capable of hunting Jedi, Mandalorians, or Sith traitors in near silence.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Type I atmosphere (Standard oxygen-nitrogen)
  • Average Height of Adults: 1.4 meters at shoulder
  • Average Length of Adults: 3.2 meters (not including tail)
  • Skin Color: Black, gray-violet, mauve, void-blue underflesh (visible beneath wounds)
  • Hair Color: Iridescent black, starlight-silver, cosmic violet
  • Distinctions:
    • Six limbs in most variants; Umbrafel maintains four limbs for streamlined stalking
    • Glowing nebula-like eyes with shifting hues (gold, violet, azure)
    • Fangs and claws made from phrik-infused alchemized bone
    • Umbrafel features elongated grin; wider jaw hinge for intimidation
    • Subspecies include Velox (winged), Sanguine (tusked), Umbrafel (panther-like), Velvet (miniature)
    • Umbrafel exudes an aura of unease, often forgotten in one's periphery
  • Races:
    • Velox (winged)
    • Sanguine (tusked)
    • Velvet (miniature companion class)
    • Umbrafel (elite predator)
  • Force Sensitivity: High (Many specimens are Force-sensitive and possess enhanced senses or reflexes, though not trained in traditional Force use.)
Strengths:
  • Oblivion Veil: Can enter a phase of Force-null cloaking, rendering itself unnoticeable to organic and mechanical sensors. Functions similarly to Art of the Small + voidstone properties.
  • Predatory Intelligence: Demonstrates complex hunting behavior, psychological manipulation, and tactical thinking. Can ambush prey in coordination with other Sithspawn or field agents.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Feedback Sensitivity: Exposure to intense Light Side force powers (e.g., Force Light, Battle Meditation) causes severe disorientation or temporary collapse.
  • Loyalty-Bond Fragility: Highly loyal to creator or designated handler. Death or mental corruption of the bonded individual can drive the creature into instability or rogue behavior.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Carnivore; prefers warm-blooded prey. Will consume most organic material, but shows aversion to certain metals (beskar, songsteel) and avoids poisonous flora.
  • Communication: Body language, yowls, chirps, chuffs, ultrasonic pulses, purring hums; can bond telepathically with handler via Force link.
  • Technology Level: None (incapable of creating technology, but capable of understanding and manipulating simple mechanisms or Force-tech interfaces) (They can be augmented with cybernetics in event of grievous injury or injuries.)
  • Religion/Beliefs: N/A (Though some Sith cults have come to revere them as avatars of Sith wrath or "Midnight Saints")
  • General Behavior:
    • Nocturnal hunters with solitary or bonded pair behavior
    • Raise their young in dens or containment pods; imprint on first handler
    • Territorial and selective in socialization
    • Playful with bonded Sith; affectionate but unpredictable
    • Enjoys perching on datapads, throne arms, or the shoulders of armored Sith
    • Displacement "purring" can induce fear, nausea, or hallucinations in the weak-minded
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Conceived in thought by Lucette Fortan-Raaf, heiress and geneticist of the Fortan-Raaf lineage. Seeking to combine aesthetic beauty with battlefield supremacy, Lucette drew upon Sith alchemy, kyber corruption techniques, and exotic feline DNA from Lothal, Dosuun, and Umbara.
Using fractured kyber threading, Force-sensitive parasites, and harvested Umbra-Worm neural material, Lucette created displacement-capable predators capable of bypassing Jedi defenses and Mandalorian armor alike. While the project encountered instability in early variants (including spontaneous combustion during purring or inversion of bone structure), refinement led to a stable line of four main variants.

Umbrafel, the apex design, was crafted not for warzones but for silent, overwhelming dominance. It is said Lucette keeps a personal Umbrafel at her estate on Dosuun, nestled beside her in throne rooms and biolabs alike. A silent enforcer, a terrible secret, and perhaps—her finest creation.

Velvets: Miniature Companion types
Physical Traits:
  • Size of a Loth-cat.
  • Fur is ultra-soft and luxurious, often in fashionable shades: obsidian, starlight silver, dusty mauve
  • Giant, expressive golden or violet eyes
  • Tail is long, expressive, sometimes used like a grappling hook for climbing curtains
  • Emits low-frequency purring that disrupts holoscreens and datapads when annoyed
Functional Enhancements:
  • Displacement Blink (short-range only): Up to 2 meters, typically used to vanish from your lap and appear somewhere awkward—like inside your fridge or sitting on someone’s astromech
  • Shadow Curl: When it sleeps, it folds space around itself. Cannot be found unless it wants to be. Often reappears in forbidden zones.
  • Purrfield: Soothing to Sith, deeply unsettling to Jedi. Can dull Force awareness in a 1-meter radius while purring at full intensity.
Behavioral Traits:
  • Bonded, not tame: Chooses its handler. If rejected, it may simply stalk that person until they accept it or perish.
  • Scratches transmit mild venom: Causes dizziness, confusion, or love hallucinations. Most dangerous when play-biting.
    • Sleeps on datapads, throne cushions, or the heads of larger Sithspawn
    • Fully capable of killing—but rarely bothers unless commanded, or insulted
