Mining on Apatros

Makkik stood in front of one of the many abonded mines that dotted the wasteland of Apatros, holding a pickaxe in one hand and a Tractor Wand in the other. The locals told him that they left the mine when there was a major cave in- but (after some bribings) they informed him there was still plenty of Cortosis Ore in one of the larger shafts.... They were even kind enough to (after some more bribing) draw him a map to which part... But now he had a problem; He didn't know the slightest thing about mining. It meant picking at the rocks until Cortosis falls on your feet, right? He was eager to get at the Cortosis ore, but first thing was first; he needed help. So he found out someone who claimed to know what to do on the holonet... (He'd never considered the possibility that he may just be a scam artist). Now, e was standing outside the mine, tapping his foot impatiantly as he waited. They should be here any minute...

Tsolan's ears flicked under his hood as he walked across the surface of Apatros, coming nearer and nearer to @Makkik. After seeing the call on the holonet, he had of course made haste in learning how to mine the materials before setting himself up to help with the matter. Behind him walked hallf a dozen Chiss, dressed in certain materials that would help combat the ionized properties of the metal and thus negate the major dangers of picking it out. "Are you the jawa I was called to help?" His voice was slightly distorted behind the mask and he was prepared to do what was needed to collect this valuable asset. Especially if the Jawa didn't have any problems with one of his position.

The Jawa qui8ckly glanced up towards [member="Darth Tsolan"], and then to the group of blue-skinned men behind them.

"Ooooh! You'rehere,you'rehere! YounknowhowtomineCortosis? Hmm? Hmm? Oneofthoseblueguys?" He pointed at the Chiss. "Aretheysick? Aretheyfrozen? Theylooksick. Dotheyneedblankets?"

He smiled a bit as the jawa seemd to speak at the speed of a pod racer. Interesting beings. Zarro never could bring himself to deal with them on a regular basis, but this was a material where Vulpesen would have to learn to do so himself. "They are chiss and they require nothing. They are here to help us mine as well as carry suplies. You see, cortosis is a dangerous substance when left unprocessed. For this reason, these men will wear the suits and work on digging it out with hydrolic jacks. I will help to lift it into loading devices without the need for either of us touching it, and as for you... What exactly would you like to do?"

Makkik glanced rapidly back and forth from the blue-skinned Chiss, back to [member="Darth Tsolan"], and then to his pick axe. "Errrrr... SoIcan'tusethis?" He waved his pickaxe around dangerously, accidently almost hamstringing one of the nearest Chiss. "Hmmm....Hmm...Hmm...Hmm... WhatcanIdo? Hmm? Ican, err..." Makkik glanced back towards the gaping opening to the mine, then back to Tsolan, before abruptly dropping his pickaxe and reaching into his robes with his free hand- keeping his hold on the tracxtor wand with the other. "Oooooh! Iknow! I'llleadtheway!" The Jawa quickly drew out his little rolled paper map, and spun around, before dashing into the dark mine.

He continued to stare at the being as he talked. Energetic little fellow ain't he. Still, a plan was a plan. As [member="Makkik"] ran off, he was still willing to follow. Cortosis was cortosis and even if Makkik was a bit eccentric, he certainly wasn't the worst person Vulpesen had ever met. "Alright. Just tell me when you find a deposit." Motioning to the servants, he followed after the jawa, prepared to help when he was needed.

Once the Jawa stepped into the mines, it was almost impossible to keep up with him. The dark brown his robes blended perfectly with the murky darkness, only the dim light of his glowing eyes showing where he went. The Jawa darted left and right ridiculously fast, much like somebody beginning to come off a glitterstim high, as he followed the map deeper and deeper into the mine, his glowing eyes allowing him to see ahead as if the area was lit up. Every once in awhile, a few large rocks, or bits of rubble would block his path. Even that didn't slow him down. He simply waved the wand in his right hand, a blue beam of light wrapping around the rubble and flinging it away with a flick of the wand. Often, accidently, at the Chiss. "Thissway! Thissway! Keepup!" And he darted off again.

He let out a small growl as the little creature ran off down the cave. Suddenly, his new bone structure was an amazing plus as his legs popped in and out of place, allowing him to leap from stone to stone to keep up to him. For an ordinary human, there was no doubt that something like this would be difficult. For a zorren, it was quite possible, though the same couldn't be said for the chiss who would likely come out of this with a new found hate for the jawa species.

[member="Makkik"]

The Jawa didn't take much notice of Wolverine jumping around behind him, rather he stopped suddenly as they encountered a large cave in of rubble and large rocks. Makkik spun around abruptly, smiling and waving around the map.

"We'rehere! We'rehere! Cortosis'ontheotherside!"

[member="Darth Tsolan"]

Vulpesen grinned as the Jawa stared leaping up and down, pointing and shouting at the wall. "Well, you heard him, get to work." Immeditately the chiss split off and started to work on the the wall. The sound of a jack slamming into the walls echoed through out the cavern and from that moment, their work truly began.

[member="Makkik"]

While the Chiss started working on the cave-in, Makkik scampered over to [member="Darth Tsolan"], smiling up at him. "Sowho'reyou? You'vegotabunchofblue-peopleworkers Youpaythem? Theyyourservants? Slaves? YouaHutt? No... notaHutt.... MaybeaHuttwithlipsuction... hmmmmm...."

"I am darth Tsolan, that is all you need to know. These chiss are assistants who help me when I require their assistance. As for my species, I am something you have never heard of, a zorren." His voice was cool and collected as he spoke. Once he had finished with his short speech to [member="Makkik"], he motioned to on of the chiss. "Get the bin. We'll need it." After a respectful bow, the servant did as he was told, turning around and starting down the tunnels.

Makkik tilted his head to the side slightly. "Notaliposuctionhutt? Areyoussuuuuuuuure? ImetaliposuctionHuttonce.... WastryingtogetsurgerytobecomeaTwi'lek...couldn'tfindasurgerytodoit..." After a moment, Makkik spun around and made a happy little sqeaking sound, seeing the Chiss had cleared the way. "Ooooh Cortosisoreshouldberightupthere!" And Makkik dashed forwards again.

[member="Darth Tsolan"]

He rolled his eyes as his species was questioned. "I assure you, I know exactly what I am." As the rocks were finally moved, Tsolan turned his head to see the earlier chiss, racing over with a grav sled, on which sat a large bin, ready to carry the cortosis to the ship. "Just in time. Now hurry up, I'd rather get this done and out of the way." Turning back around, he followed after the energetic ball of brown cloth.

[member="Makkik"]

Makkik followed the map anohber shot distance- another turn or two- until they came to an area where the walls literally had small patches of silver, like patchwork. Makkik was glad he wasn't scammed when he bought the map from that Toydorian... the mine was just as filled with Cortosis ore as he'd said. Makkik smiled broadly, and raced back down the tunnels, only to return a minute later with his pickaxe. "Timetogettowork!"

[member="Darth Tsolan"]

Tsolan let out a small sigh and walked past the jawa, motioning for his men to step forward and start to mine out the walls. Before too long, they had set up and were mining away, taking the ore out as swiftly as possible. Despite the rush, Vulpesen did everything he could to avoid any direct contact with the ore, fully aware that a single touch may very well kill him.

[member="Makkik"]

Yeah... Makkik wasn't nearly as careful. Though, by the grace of whoever it is Jawa's worship, he never touched the ore, he came dangerously close to doing it a few dozen times as he mined away with his little pickaxe. Once he got a chunk of ore loose from the wall, he'd remove it with his tratcor wand, and set it on a nice little pile next to him. All the while, loudly and obnoxiously humming at the top of his lungs.

[member="Darth Tsolan"]

Slowly, a twitch started to form in Tsolan's eyes as the humming went on. It was hard enough to do his mining without being ticked off by a brown robed eccentric rat but this was too much. "If you do not stop that irritating humming, I will use the fore to hurl the largest chunk I can find, straight into your mouth." With that, he resumed his work, using the force to carry the ore into the bin on the gravsled.

[member="Makkik"]

Makkik instantly stopped, only for the sound to be replaced with loud highpitched singing, while still mining away at Cortosis ore.

"Iiii've beenworkingintheSpiiiiiice miiiiines! Allll thdingdongdaaaaay! Iiii've beenworkingintheSpiiiiice miiiiiines! Just to paaasthetiiiimeawaaaaaay!"

[member="Darth Tsolan"]

Vulpesen almost let out a sigh of relief, but as the singing came in, his vision turned a bit read. "SHUT UP!" His hand shot out, hurling a large chuck of cortosis which exploded into the wall, just above the Jawa's head. A warning shot, but still dangerous. Tsolan was a patient sith, but even his patience only ran so far before he got a bit more than irritated.
