Setting Information:

Structure Name: Midwan
Classification: Temple
Location: Yesmireenhttps://starwarsrp.net/topic/150525-yesmireen/
Affiliation: Yesmireenhttps://starwarsrp.net/topic/150525-yesmireen/
Accessibility: Isolated; Midwan is a temple seemingly placed in the middle of nowhere. No civilization exists anywhere even remotely near the construct, and the land around it is of the treacherous variety; trenches filled with boiling cats of molten rock, jagged mountains and sporadic deposits of neuranium which create significant fluctuations in the gravity around its location. It is a longer and grueling journey to make one's way to the temple.
Description: A relic of a bygone past, Midwan is a large temple constructed by Sith that once dominated the planet. Its remarkable construction has allowed it to endure the test of time, even amidst the strange gravity present here that causes certain formations to float aloof in a circle around the temple.

Points of Interest:

  • Ruined Archives - An ancient archive chamber located within the temple, its resources of knowledge have been mostly pillaged or gathered by the planetary government and now can be found within museum located in the of Galacot City. This chamber features aged stone walls and pillars whose structural integrity is questionable at best.
  • Combatives Chambers - The temple features a row of six identical chambers which line a grand hall (three on each side). These rooms are massive and reminiscent of what would likely have been a combatives training chamber. The stone walls, floor and formations in these rooms carry a vivid reminder through carbon scoring of the thousands of lightsaber clashes that have taken place here through the echoes of time.
  • Meditation Chamber - There is a single large, circular chamber where evidence of a lost holocron housing exist in the center. This chamber was once used for meditation and higher learning by the Kissai caste that once populated this planet.
  • Great Hall - An architectural marvel, this great pavilion runs through the central complex of the large temple. The combatives chambers are located along the edges on this hall and the meditation chamber at the far end. Evidence exists to support claims that this hall was once lined with ornate furniture and tapestries.
  • Courtyard - Once a well kept garden which supported various herbs and flora for use in experimental concoctions, this ravine has fallen to the test of time. It is now overgrown with cruel vines and sickly moss and fungal arrangements.

Security:

None - This site has fallen to an archaeological dig and historical site. With everything pillaged or excavated and housed in various collections of knowledge and relics, there is little to shield here from the public’s hands.

Historical Information:

Midwan is an ancient Sith temple that was built a few hundred years prior to the Rise of the Empire under Palpatine. Once an immaculate construct of enormous proportions, the temple has since fallen from its former glory. Now more ruins than an actual temple, it serves as a look into the dark past of the planet of Yesmireen.

Even though this temple has succumb to the struggles of time and mother nature, it still serves as a place for a follower of the Force to delve for a further understanding and has seen the occasional interests of passing Force sensitives to restore the structure and renovate it. However, Yesmireen’s sitting government has long shut down such efforts for fear of what ideologies the existence of such a thing might present. Especially given the control it held over its people and had no desire to fight an enlightened populace should it be inspired to revolt amid its enlightenment.

For the time, Midwan remains a link to the past and nothing more. The crumbling ruins simply offering a visual purview.
