OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Micro-Tech
    • Taking the principle behind turbolaser technology, the idea of spinning a bolt to increase range and damage, while reducing waste glow, Treatech shrunk it all down into the Micro Beam Spool.
STRENGTHS
  • Tuning
    • Micro Beam Spools can be tuned to the users preference, if someone wants only a slight increase to damage and range, that's doable. A massive increase is doable as well. These typically can only be modified with special tools and careful calculations, not something easily done in the heat of battle or in the field.
  • Spinister
    • By "spinning" the beam typically produced by a blaster, the Micro Beam Spool is able to greatly increase the range and power of the bolt. This is how turbolasers work, but made to fit into any kind of blaster, be it pistols, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, and even the occasional shotgun.
WEAKNESSES
  • Tuning Ratio
    • The greater the increase to damage and range, the more the fire rate is decreased as the beam winds up.
  • Spool Time
    • Because the beam must spin to increase it's effectiveness, there is literally a spool time before followup shots can be fired. Weapons with this technology tend to have lower fire rates than conventional blasters. This can somewhat be avoided by having Micro Beam Spools in the same weapon, but the instillation process requires complex machining ability and simply more space which might not be possible for more compact weapons
DESCRIPTION

Initially a technology reserved for Mr. Janus's custom weapon, Treatech realized the potential of the Micro Beam Spool and quickly sought to produce the product on a mass scale before any competitors could beat them to it. Increase range and damage at the cost of fire rate, the Micro Beam Spool is a fitting upgrade for those looking to add a bit more punch to their blasters.
