Intent: A set of spears consistent with Mara Merrill's training as a Kilian Ranger; a gift from Rave to her estranged niece and her niece's followers.
Development Thread: None.
Manufacturer: Rave Merrill
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Personal ([member="Mara D'Lessio Merrill"])
Modularity: No
Production: Limited
Material:
Classification: Spear
Size: One-handed/two-handed
Length: 1.7m-2.1m (scaled to fit its intended user)
Weight: 1.5kg-2.0kg (scaled to fit its intended user)
Special Features:
  • Shaft will turn vibroblades or blaster shots and give some resistance to lightsabres, though a few good sabre chops will get through just fine.
  • Balanced for one- or two-handed use.
  • Ankarres wood will boost healing fractionally and help repel the Dark Side from the user's mind.
Description: The Kilian Ranger spears made by Rave Merrill for her niece Mara are functionally just small, standard Force-imbued blades fixed to hafts of fortified Ankarres wood. They are more symbols and tools (walking staffs) than game-changing, transcendent weaponry.

Note that each spearhead is attuned to Mara Merrill's Force signature. This means that if other Force-sensitives, including the spears' owners, are the ones using the weapons, they will not get the full benefits of the imbuement. Specifically, they won't be able to make the blades cut durasteel, annihilate ghosts, etc. The only people who can get that kind of standard Force-imbued blade functionality out of the spearblades are Rave and Mara, unless the owner assists in forging the spearhead or makes a new one. This is all standard Force-imbued blade forging technique, the lightsabre's predecessor.

(+) Quite a nice spear, capable of stabbing things.
(+) Various healing benefits from the haft, as detailed in the Ankarres wood submission, though nothing comprehensive like healing wounds as they're delivered.
(+) In Mara's hands, or the hands of a Force-sensitive follower who assists in forging, the spearblade serves as a standard Force-imbued blade.
(-) Otherwise, the spearblade has significantly reduced functionality for a Force-sensitive user and, for a NFU, is just a spearblade.
(-) You really need to know what you're doing with a spear, or you're toast. Big weapons like this are awkward.
Primary Source: Not influenced by any Chaos canon submissions. Precedent for Rave being able to make Force-imbued blades that can be used to their full potential by her close family members: Taralkaar.
