Meeting with an Old Friend's Child

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Despite all that had happened between now and Circe's initial meeting with a certain Rasu Gan, for tests of a skin rejuvenator which had remained prototypical, Circe had not expected to hear, through certain 'questionable' channels, that the former Jedi Knight was now part of the schismatic Silver Jedi Order, with a daughter to boot. A Shi'ido hybrid being a malleable student in more ways than one, Circe had chosen to send her a holomail. In simple terms, she stated that she was a friend of Rasu's, and that she was interested in meeting with Allana on a world of her choosing.

Now the question was where.

~ Lianna

It was not often that the young daughter of Rasu Gan received a call, and it was even more of a rarity when it was from someone she did not know. It had been late at night when the call had came through, and hesitantly, Allana had answered; sleep limiting her thoughts as she tried to process what had been occurring. Her mother had never actually mentioned a Circe Savan, although Allana had never thought to ask of one either, however with the Shi'ido out of reach in the Unknown Regions, the young woman had only her instincts to guide her, and they held no ill will towards this old acquaintance of her mother.

Since she had received the call, she had returned with one her own, greeting this stranger and patching in coordinates for the planet of their meeting. Lianna was a pretty public place so that if something were to go wrong, she would have plenty of witnesses to support any claims that may need to be held. Although she was sure that this person could be trusted, if her mother held no ill will, neither would she.

Sitting outside a cafe, Allana sat in a rather large wicker chair, a long cloak covered her body as it flapped at her ankles. A warm cup of steaming caf sat in a saucer on the table in front of her. Reaching for the cup, Allana looked at the vacant seat opposite her, before taking a sip, searching the busy street in search of this mystery acquaintance. Would she even show up?

And soon, she would. Circe would be wearing a sinister-looking yet excellently cut black dress, one cut low in the front. Her hair would be put up, in order to accentuate the feminine shapes of her shoulders and neck. Sitting down across from the green-skinned woman, she smiled, giving a grin as she sat down across from Allana, drinking her own caf.

"Nice to meet you, Allana. I'm Circe. Your mother helped me with some work sometime back."

A small chill danced across her back as the woman sat down opposite. Allana had to force a smile as she was so stunned. Stunned by such...beauty? No that wasn't it. She lost focus for a moment as she realised what she was feeling. Fear. Shoving the emotion down, Allana looked back at the woman, now drinking her own caf. Placing her own cup back on the table, she wet her lips before replying.

"And it's a pleasure to meet you as well Miss.... uh." her mind went haywire, panic began to ascend over her being as she searched frantically for a name. "Miss Savan?" she said finally, after much contemplation.

"I hope you don't find this rude Miss Savan, but might I inquire as to why you arranged this meeting?" she asked, curious as to why she had received the woman's message.

"Please, just call me Circe." She smiled, eying over the woman who was apparently a Mirialan. Circe recalled the Shi'ido origins of Rasu - assumedly, that was her rationale for looking the way she did. "I called you here because I wanted to meet you , of course. It's been a long time since I've met any member of the Gan family, and I thought I'd introduce myself."

"Well it is nice to meet you then...Circe." she said hesitantly, feeling a similar sensation to before, as she caught sight of the smile flowing from the other woman. She had no idea why she felt such strong emotions in regards to the woman opposite her, she just could not locate the source. Circe's first impressions were flawless, and it seemed rude in Allana's opinion to already have a negative perception of this woman before she had yet learned anything of her. Pushing the odd feeling down, she smiled back at Circe, this time devoid of all anxiety and suspicion, a genuine gesture.

"My mother? I guess then you must have been one of the rare few to have been graced with her company. I'm afraid she does not really share her company with other's these days." she said, taking a sip from her cup, as she stared into the liquid with dislike, imaging the emerald face of her mother floating the in the rich beverage.

"That's... Unfortunate, to say the least." She frowned, though an eyebrow was certainly raised in curiosity. "I am going to miss her... What's she currently doing?" Circe had not been following up on Rasu like she should have, but it did give her an excuse to inquire more from the Shi'ido's daughter. She seemed quite...

Quite cuddle-worthy.

Allana was not open for anyone pity, in fact she loathed feeling hopeless and depressed. Picking herself up, she took a rather large gulp of her caf, shaking her head slightly as she swallowed the rich liquid. She looked back at Circe, as she placed her cup back on the saucer, pulling her chair forward with her free hands to bring herself closer to the table.

"Oh she's just travelling. Been doing it for quite a while now. She's out in the Unknown Regions, following or completing this pilgrimage she's always dreamed of doing. Apparently it's more important than family." she said, replying to the woman's request. She paused for a moment, looking down at her lap. "But enough about my mum," she said suddenly, "I'm quite interested in what you do Miss Savan." she still didn't feel quite comfortable with the informality of the situation. "You look like you're quite successful in whatever venture you take part in." she said gesturing to the astonishing black dress Circe was wearing.

"I sell starships. Along with other useful items, of course. Our company is notable in particular for having completely rebuilt itself from the ground up following a CIS and Fel Imperium assault on our production facilities." She paused, choosing to say little else regarding that subject. "That's not a right way to treat your daughter... Family is one of the most important things, if not the most important thing in the galaxy."

She then paused, eying over her face. "You have no tattoos... but then again, I already know your mother's no Mirialan. What can you do that she can?"

As soon as the first word left Circe's mouth, Allana's eyes had lit up. This woman was becoming more and more appealing to the young woman with every word. "That does sound extremely interesting, I wish I could lead a life as exciting as yours." she said, feeling almost completely comfortable now around Circe.

"Oh well she isn't exactly the best at keeping secrets." she said, laughing almost as she replied to Circe. "Oh tattoos?" As she spoke, she quickly closed her eyes in concentration, and as she opened them, she felt a soft itching sensation on either side of her nose, as dark triangular marks appeared, almost identical to those preferred by her mother. She smiled at Circe as her hair began shift as well, drawing in towards the scalp as the colour changed from a dark brunette to light blonde. Allana ignored the small gasps that erupted around her of those who caught sight of her transformation, she was used to such a reaction when it came to her genetic gift. "I can shift into nearly every humanoid species, but past that, my body just won't reach such a feat. I have Dad's genes to thank for that." she said.

She paused for a moment, thinking about what an opportunity it would be to have the daughter of a Jedi Master working for her. Perhaps she could teach the young Shi'ido hybrid about the Dark Side in due time. "Well, I have a job opening at Subach as my personal assistant. If you'd like to take it, I'd be more than glad to hire you."

Then the hybrid shapeshifted, a common trait for such species to succeed at. "That's certainly impressive enough." She smiled. "You remind me a lot of a friend I once had. No idea what happened to her..."

Allana's eyes lit up with utter joy as she processed the opportunity being offered before her.

"Are...are you serious? Really?" she exclaimed, taking a moment to let the idea set in. Her former guise had now vanished, as the young woman now returned to her original form, she could no longer maintain it due to her excitement. "I would love that. Thank you so much." Rising from her chair, she extended her hand to shake it, but brought it back on second thoughts and pulled the woman into a quick hug. Dark shades of green emerged over her cheeks as she quickly sat back down, embarrassment becoming apparent.

"Oh really, do you mind telling me more about them." she replied finally, trying to forget about the rather awkward scene that had just occurred.

Circe had always wondered what a Shi'ido hybrid looked like in their original form, and now was the moment that she found out. A smile crossed her face, noticing that the Gan daughter had an enormous amount of enthusiasm for becoming Circe's assistant. "Of course we'll meet up soon after you gather your things... You'll be traveling with me on board my personal shuttle."

She paused for a moment, thinking of what best to say. "She was a Ghostling. The first I've ever met. She enjoyed cuddles."

"Oh a ghostling? I don't think I've ever heard of them before." she replied, after listening to Circe's tale. It suddenly dawned on the young woman, how much of the galaxy she truly had left to discover, and that the opportunity to do so was now in the form of Circe Savan. She knew that something as grand an experience would not present itself anytime soon, better to take it now more than ever.

"Thank you again for the opportunity...Circe." she said, "I guess I do have my mother to thank for something. Meeting you, so all of this could happen." Rising from the table, she gulped down the last of her caf. "Well I'll be off for now, I'll go grab my things and meet you by your shuttle." And with that, she left the cafe, a more renewed enthusiasm in her step as she headed to her own transport to gather her things.

"They're an interesting species. Horribly fragile - they shatter at even the slightest touch. I made sure that I could give her cuddles by giving her an inertial inhibitor, letting her experience the feel of hugs without the risks of bone fracture."

She smiled. "I'm an equal opportunity employer, to say the least. I'll meet you at my shuttle, and from there we can hit up the first stop on your job as my personal assistant - our newest laboratory on Malachor V."

The dark side was strong on this world, tempting and pulling at the Padawan's will. Six months she had been on Malachor V and for six months she had kept the dark essence at bay. It had been fairly difficult to combat with such a powerful aura, however Allana had still enjoyed her time on the dark planet, having been integrated into the organisation that was Subach. The young Padawan often thought back to her meeting on Lianna, wondering whether fate had arranged the meeting between herself and Circe Savan, however no matter the outcome, Allana was thrilled to be away from the Jedi. It felt as if she was actually accomplishing something with the mysterious woman, who she now classed as a dear friend.

Leaving her personal quarters, Allana was dressed rather formally for another routine day, however the Padawan was determined to impress her superior. Datapad in hand, the woman entered the building's science complex, heading straight to Circe's personal lab. Knocking on the door, she waited patiently for a response allowing her to enter.

The response that Allana expected soon swiftly occurred - Circe herself opened the door for the semi-Shi'ido, smiling as she accepted the woman into her folds of business. While Subach no longer existed, the labs of Malachor V belonged to Circe - otherwise known as Vanessa Kuhn - now and forever. The facility's various laboratories continued to work on more and more exotic pieces of technology, technology that Circe herself had conceptualized.

"Ah, Allana. How wonderful to see you again... I have something particularly ambitious that I think is right up your alley."
