Meeting the Black Iron Tyrant

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
Character
Since the collapse of the Sith Empire and the rise of the Fel, the Fringe had gained a few of the old Sith, who wished to pursue darker means on power than the Fel Empire were allowed. It was a relatively simple process, with most of them being welcomed, htough the Fringe being assertive in the lack of theocracy in the overall government as well as the lack of back-stabbing and murder to assume the ranks. In tuth this mattered little to Valik, but recently he had begun a project that required a very special type of subject, normally only found on Dromund Kass. He had been looking everywhere for a proper specimen, but was unable to locate one. That was, until he heard a crazy old man spout a rumor about hearing the Blackblade Legion had defected to Panatha. It was a rumor, and most discarded it as simple folly, but Valik was a man who enjoyed covering his bases, as well as making his own opportunities.

So, he found out. A few days were spent hacking Fringe databases to figure out the information, he likely had the security clearance but he needed to keep his slicing skills up and the Fringe needed firewall testers anyways, until he eventually found a highly classified report. It was mostly redacted, but from what dots Valik could connect the rumor was true, or at least very likely. Thus he took a shuttle and headed out to Panatha, landing in the docks without little trouble. Conversation at the docks was, for the most part, about travel, where you going, how was your trip, did you have a good time, that sort of useless blathering. Some of the dock conversation, was from local to local, which proved to be enlightening. He overheard a few political activists speak of 'The God King', and had the feeling he was in the right place. He wouldn't guess Zambrano to hide at the homeworld of his people, but the more he looked at it the more likely it seemed. Heading up the most 'official' looking man at the star he went to speak to him.

"Tell the God-King Warren Valik wishes an audience, and congratulates him on his new post."

The God-King sat lavishly atop his throne made of gleaming black iron, a true symbol of his namesake and power, surrounded by his most voluptuous concubines. They fed him fruits, and danced for his pleasure while hardly wearing anything at all. To be quite honest, it was all for show truly, and while Kaine was a man who enjoyed his women and his wine, he could go without either. However; being a God-King brought on a certain image to one's mind, and that is what Kaine hoped to implant in the head of his servants. That of a indulgent tyrant who took everything in excess, especially the concubines. Before the concubines could really get into pleasuring their God-King, one of the Vanr Royal Guard flew in through one of the openings in the high vaulted ceilings and landed to kneel before Kaine. Kaine waved his whores aside, and assumed a more formal sitting position. "Speak, guardsman."

The Vanr raised his head, "My liege, a stranger has approached the castle requesting an audience with your eminence. He goes by the name of Warren Valik, milord."

That sure did catch Kaine's attention, and he frowned deeply. He had not heard that name for a long time, and he pondered deeply on whether or not he should grant Valik entry to his palace. Finally he spoke, "Escort this Warren Valik to the throne chamber, guardsman, and confiscate his weapons." Kaine said with a dismissive wave, at which the Vanr guardsman took to the skies and flew off to carry out the God-King's order. Meanwhile; Kaine anxiously awaited Valik's arrival to the throne room.

Valik waited for a long while before he was addressed again, as the man had to talk to his superiors, which had to talk to their superiors, and the message eventually reached the 'God-King', or so he hoped. It seemed his assumption was right however, as the messenger told him that he'd escort him to the king, but that he needed to relinquish his weapons. Valik scoffed slightly, but complied, handing to him a lightsaber and a small aerosol launcher on his wrist. The guard looked at him for a moment, as if he were expecting something else, so Valik emptied his pack, revealing a medical kit and a datapad.

"Do you have any poisons or bacteria?" The guard asked inquisitively.

"Not in there." Valik responded, although the guard's face told him that was probably more information than he should have given out.

"Search his ship." He ordered another guard, before nodding for Valik to follow him. He considered mind tricking the fool, but remembered he was Panatha. Dang Epicanthix's and their #masterrace mentalist immunity's. He'd have to be content to let them search his ship, they'd find parts of various projects lying all about, but nothing incriminating. Hopefully. Paranoid as ever until he arrived at the castle he found the old Emperor chilling in his throne room with lots of voluptuous and scantily clad ladies encircling him, with various dances of entertainment, as well as trying to get him to allow them to feed him with various fruits. The retired Sith Emperor was quite the player it seemed.

"I'm glad to see your transition wasn't too terribly painful. Has the Fringe been to your liking thus far or simply Panatha God-King?"

Kaine watched as Warren Valik entered the throne room, accompanied by his guardsmen. "Greetings, Valik. I had not expected you to come visit little old me, let alone find me. You must have had to dig deep to discover who I was, but that doesn't matter anymore. You are here now, and that must mean you require something from me. So out with it, what do you want?" Kaine said in a commanding tone before he accepted some delicious grapes one of his concubines moved to feed him, while also openly letting his gloved hands run across her beautiful form. It was obvious that the concubines had no problems lacking any sort of modesty in the company of others, and many of them even tried to get Valik's attention from afar. It truly was a land of perversion and decadence, and not many other Sith would approve, but then again Kaine wasn't like many other Sith.

Valik took a piece of fruit offered to him by the scantily clad women making advances. He had no time to waste with the genetic experimentation they were thinking of, but a fruit couldn't hurt. Unless it was poisoned, but a quick usage of psychometry confirmed it wasn't, or if it was it was done a long time ago.

"All business? As you wish God-King. All I desire is a blood sample."

"The God-King does not bleed foolish Kiffar." One of the guards responded and Valik almost clapped. Kaine had done good work in short time with enthusiasm like that.

"Not from him, from one of his subjects. A vanr, any one in good health." He said, as he looked at Kaine. "I can compensate you of course, perhaps you want for a blade? New suit of armor?"

Kaine rubbed his chin gently as Valik explained himself for why he was coming to see him. "One of the Vanr, eh? I wonder what you could do with their blood, Valik. I remember you as a renowned Alchemist, such as myself, so I will ask you first before I relinquish a drop of their blood. What do you intend to do with it once you have gotten it? I am curious." He smiled and chuckled as he situated himself in a more comfortable position as the concubines continued to move in dances of ecstacy for their Lord and Master, and perhaps to catch the eye of Valik once again. Although many could see that seducing Valik was futile, but there were always those over-ambitious ones who continued to try with bolder, and bolder attempts.

Zambrano ignored his offer completely, instead opting to ask him what he wanted. That meant one of three things, he was curious, he had no wants, or he was suspicious. The first two were okay, and the last was a danger. Valik was a dangerous man but so was Kaine, and then there were the guards. . . . It was best he be cautious

"Between their claws, flight, higher Force sensitivity, and natural tendency for the dark side they have a lot of beneficial traits. I am looking to impose these abilities unto others through Alchemy, but I need access to the Vanr to do that, and I supposed you'd rather lose some blood than a subject."

"Indeed?" said Kaine before taking a bite into an apple one of his concubines had given him, "Fair enough then, Valik. I will donate Vanr blood to you, on several conditions... One; I will donate test subjects of my choosing to undergo experimentation, and two; I require a powerful Sith sword for my own personal use infused with Devaronian blood-poison. If my requests are met, Valik, then I will donate as much Vanr blood as you require for your experiments." Kaine reclined back and clasped his hands together, "Will that be acceptable, Lord Valik?"

"Deal." Valik said without hesitation. A few enhanced soldiers and a sword was no big deal to him. "I assume you'll be providing the blood poison? A workstation?" He said getting to business as he began laying out the process. Devaronian Blood Poison, contrary to popular belief, was actually a rock that was toxic to the touch, so making a sword out of it was as simple as makkng it lightsaber resistant, sharpening the edge a bit, and adding the lightning absorption. Then again, you had to do it without touching it, which was a difficult task.

"What style blade do you prefer? Claymore, katana, double bladed? I'll not settle for anything less than exactly what you desire." After all, a blade an art in and of itself, and he'd be the one stuck with it.

"A bastard sword, Valik. That is what I require. Complete this for me, and I will provide you an endless supply of blood and the castle apothecarium for your own personal use. I will be quite interested to see what your experiments produce, Valik. Please do not disappoint me, I have such high regard for your talents, and I would hate to see that all go to waste." Kaine said with a chuckle as one of the concubines suddenly moved to sit on top of his lap, and lightly kiss his bare chest. Did I mentioned he was bare chested? Well, he is... All muscle and scars and what not, all of that good stuff the ladies crave. At an unseen command a pair of Vanr guardsmen would fly through the open entryways on either side of the throne room, and walk up to kneel before Valik.

"The God-King had told us of our new destiny through our minds, milord Valik. We are yours to command."

These would be the first of many willing donors for Valik's experiments.

Valik looked at the Vanr that came to him, commanded through telepathy, then at Kaine Zambrano, with a concubine placing herself atop his legs and kissing his bare chest as others tried to seduce his time through promises grapes, pears, apples, and barely concealed melons.

"Don't have too much fun God-King." he said, and then snapped his fingers at the two Vanr and signaled for them to follow him out. Once the trio were out of Kaine's presence he spoke to them, to obtain information. "I need access to the God-King's Devaronian Blood-Poison, some metal, and a forge." He told them, and they then lead him to the Castle Apothecarium. He would be granted personal use of this later, but for now he had business access, which was just as good for what he wanted to accomplish. The Vanr were helpful in obtaining the necessary supplies. Once everything was gathered he informed them each to head to whatever doctors were around and to each give a pint of blood for his study. He'd prefer more, but he could use it and them giving more would be counter-intuitive to their health, and thus future donations.

Alone in the Apothecary he fumbled about, examining the supplies and tools he had to work with. It was a good set up, well equipped with various centrifuges, forges, distillation hoods, the works. His materials were similarly comprehensive, stocked with all manner herbs, roots, fungus, and collection of metals. He carefully went through all of the materials, gathering some steel but not finding the Devaronian Blood Poison. After gathering the necessary tools and putting on a nearby bench with the durasteel, so he could manage to find them later, he explored around the apothecary to find what he was looking for. After much searching and deliberation it was eventually found, hidden away in a locked crate he didn't have the key for. Kaine had probably assumed one of the men he dismissed would give it to him, an untrue assessment, but a minor setback, if anything.

Holding the lock with his hand his mind traveled back in time, seeing the object and all it's history. He could see the lock being opened, the key gently sliding in and turning to disengage the machinery. Three prongs angling out at 37, 42, and 58 degrees, a slight curve from wear and tear, half millimeter deep line into either side to stop a flat key from working. Relatively simple design. For the next fifteen minutes he sat, lock still in hand, carefully using miniscule applications of telekinesis to mimic the motion of the key entering and turning the lock. It wasn't a too terribly difficult process for a Sith of his talents, but a very tedious one, and a delicate process that took time. Eventually a click was heard and Valik pulled the lock down, opening the lock before removing it from the storage container.

Inside were mounds of small, silver gemstones that he assumed were Devaronian Blood Poison. When making a masterpiece however, Valik did not operate off of assumptions. He couldn't make the blade out of this only to find out in the end it was not bloodstones that made his blade. Thus he did what any scientist would, he conducted a test, and a quick and dirty one as Valik was pressed for time. With care and lack of speed of lowered a finger to touch the edge of one of them gems, his finger immediately recoiling as the deep pain spread throughout his body like a flame in the forest. His body contorting for a few moments afterward as the intense pain eventually died down he knew the product to be genuine, but in his haste to test it had lost more than a few minutes of time he could have been working. Still shaking his fingers a bit he picked up the chest and dumped it's contents into the nearby blade mold. , before laying it into the nearby flames.

With time a bit of fanning the flames the Devaronian Blood Poison gemstones melted, fusing together with one another. This was exactly what he wanted, so he lifted the mold, not bother to obtain gloves but merely using telekinesis, and placed it outside of the hot fire. The next fifteen minutes or so were spent putting the steel into a similar mold for the hilt and placing it in the fire, as the blade outside slowly reverted to lower temperatures, and thus a more solid state of matter. Once the blade was solid, yet still glowing ablaze in heat, he took off the upper portion of the mold and then put clamps over the blade, before taking a hammer and quite literally pounding the blade, shaping it and reinforcing it's edge. It was a difficult task for one of his admittedly meager size, but he managed to find a storage of snacks and if he could sharpen the blade manually that meant less shenanigans with combining telekinesis and alchemy later, which was quite strenuous for one in the Force. Best to split the tire of his body and mind if he could, rather than overload one avenue or the other.

As this was completed he headed over to the fire and extracted the steel, now melted and fleshed into the form of a liquid handle. The mold sat and handle cooled as Valik began concentrating on the blood-poison blade, his mind seeing the composition of the gemstone-blade, and forcefully changing it, bending it to his will so as to create an unnatural protection, enhancing it's durability and also allowing it absorb and disperse Sith Lightning like, well, a lightning rod. It was a taxing process, and a tedious one, requiring quite a bit amount of time. Any alchemist could make a proper blade out of metal, enhance it's capabilities to the peak, but it was another matter to do so with a gemstone, wood, or clay. It was possible, but it took a lot of time, effort, and skill, a fact Valik would not forget this night.

Taking a water break after finishing reinforcing the blade he took a bottle and squeezed, letting the water pour down his throat, giving him a near euphoric restoration of energy, along with some spare crackers he'd managed to scrounge up. Unclipping a saber from his belt he ignited it, with a snap-hiss splitting the silence before a gentle hum resounded throughout the room. It was the moment of truth. Taking the blade he raised it up before swinging it down in a slashing moment that truly didn't have that much force, as Valik was a skinny man, but still had all the energy and heat of a lightsaber within it. His work stayed true, and the blade endured the hit, taking it like quite the champ, not even leaving a scar. His work there was done, he needed only reinforce the handle and then bind the two parts of the blade together. Child's play.

As he headed over to the now-cooled hilt he put a hand on it, altering it's form in a much simpler, as well as less stressful form of manipulation. On an impulse decision he decided to add a few spikes coming out of the crossguard, a mostly ornamental addition, but Valik spared no expense when making a blade. After all, this was Valik's work, it had his name attached to it. He could not be associated with a creation that was less than perfect. With another application of telekinesis, his last, he lifted the blade and put it in the now-alchemically enhanced steel handle, and then altered not only the composition of the handle, but it's form and the composition of the edge of the blood poison blade as well, binding the two parts together in an blend that wouldn't break, shake out, fall out, or any such nonsense that would have separated the two. Swinging it around very slowly he made sure his meld stayed true, which it did, and finally signaled one of the men outside to inform the so called 'God-King' that his work was complete. It was one of the finer blade's he'd ever made, which was saying something, but the labor he put into the blade was well worth the Vanr Blood he'd obtain, after all his project had quite the implications if he could gather all the necessary supplies.

For the next few hours Kaine attended his concubine's needs, firmly planted in a haze of lust and perversion until one of his guards announced that Valik had completed Kaine's new weapon. Kaine smirked joyfully as he parted through the sea of whores like Space-Moses, and quickly cleaned himself off before traveling alongside his guards to the royal apothecarium. Once there, Kaine quickly hurried to Valik to marvel at his creation. "Ah, yes. Excellent work, Valik, my friend. Truly the work of a master!" Kaine wrapped his hand in a cloth, and picked up the sword by the handle and the flat end of the blade. He inspected it closely, analyzing the craftsmanship of the blade and the sharpness of the steel. Kaine looked at the guard who had accompanied him, "Hold out your arm, guardsman. I must test out it's potency." The guard, of course, complied without hesitation or any inkling that he would question the command of his God-King.

Kaine gently pressed the exposed flat end of the blade against the skin of the guard, who began to contort as absolute agony raced through his body. Kaine's smirk only grew, "Yes! Excellent, Valik. You have earned the right to the apothecarium, and the Vanr blood I have given you."

Valik watched as Kaine grabbed his creation, wisely wrapping his hand in cloth before touching the blade. The former Emperor complimented his work, speaking of it as 'the work of a master'. While he was correct, in that it was excellent work, that last statement was incorrect, it was the work of the master. Despite his protests to the man's statement he kept silent, still exhausted from the hours of work and manipulation of the Force that went into the blade. He watched as Kaine tested his blade on a guard, willing to be a lab rat for the 'God-King'.

"You must show me that trick one day. I'd love some co-operation in my testing one of these days." He said, though part of him enjoyed crushing their resistance. "Thank you for your resources." He said as he stood to his height, a bit slowly. He was tired. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave. If you need me I'm sure you have a contact in the upper space of Fringe, and most of them know how to contact me. It was a pleasure to see you again, God-King." He said, before leaving to head to pick up his two pints of blood, then to his ship. If @[member="Darth Vornskr"] had any more business with Valik that needed attending to, now would be his chance.
