Meet and Greet (Open to Mandos)

The streets of Keldabe were busy as always, but for a different reason today. Today was a celebration of the first time the Tuang came to Mandalore, thousands of years before. People flocked to the city for the celebration, and there were many small parties all over. But the most impressive displays were in the streets, where people drank, sang, and of course, there were street brawls, but in a good natured way. It was part of who Mandos are, so the Protectors saw no reason to arrest the brawlers, unless things got too ugly. Verz watched the celebrations from MandalMotors hall, enjoying the positive energy that charged the city.

Dressed in his red and black leather uniform, as always, Rygel Larraq walked the city streets of Keldabe with thousands of other Mando'ade. Ale and women alike passed between one Mando'ad or another as they drank and fought and celebrated the founding of Manda'yaim. For Larraq's part, such festivities would have to wait. He, like many other CEO's and other important pillars of Mandalorian industry and society, had been invited to MandalMotors Tower to celebrate the occasion and get the chance to size each other up eye to eye.

Despite his minor distain for the industrial giant that continually overshadowed his own company, Larraq had no choice but to show face and endure the posturing and politics of the evening. Stepping through the front doors of the lobby, Larraq was immediately eyeballed by two security guards obviously tasked with keeping the building clear of wondering drunks and brawlers that could potentially cause damage to the property. Meeting their gaze, he simply responded with the only words he needed. "Rygel Larraq, CEO of Mandal Hypernautics. Here for the meet and greet."

CRACK.

Preliat's unarmored hand sent the larger man to the ground, face first. Preliat was drunk off his ass, but so was this man. Preliat continued to beat on him for a bit more before being pulled apart by the bar's residents.

"He's had it, he's had it!"

Preliat nodded in agreement, drunkingly swerving around before finally settling into a seat. He leaned back and groaned, before slumping into the seat. He smiled and laughed, before raising another one of his dark, brown beers. He smiled and laughed with all the others in the bar, happy for the first time in a while.

As the security let @[member="Captain Larraq"] into the Tower, Verz was notified by comlink. He decided that he would make his way there, to meet some of the heads of industry. So he left MandalMotors Hall, and entered the streets of Keldabe. On his way there though, he decided to drop in at a bar and get a bottle or two of tihaar, for the guests at the Tower to share. While there, he saw @[member="Preliat Mantis"] and another Mando wailing on each other. And he laughed as the two were pulled apart, each obviously wanting to continue.

Preliat took his beer into the air, lazily leaning on the bar."Par Manda'yaim! Par Mand'alor!"He said, encouraging the ones around the room to do the same. They all raised their glasses, some saluted to their resident Mandalore. Preliat smiled, nodding at him before the massive drinking began, and even the man Preliat was wailing on a second ago seemed to be enjoying himself, and Preliat clanked his glass against his, smiling. It was a good time, something that Preliat hadn't had in quite a while, and it was obvious by the width of his smile.

Verz raised a glass that he grabbed from an empty table. It still had a bit of tihaar, so he took off his helmet and called out "Par Mando'ade! Par Tuang!" And downed the bit of tihaar in the glass. He then made his way to the barkeep, and gave him a credit chip worth 100 credits and asked for two bottles of tihaar, the good kind with jewel fruit. He insited that the barkeep keep the change, and with a wave to the bar's patrons, he put down another credit chip and bought everyone a drink. Then he left to saunter toward MandalMotors Tower.

Betna lay on the top of the Oyu'baat tapcaf and enjoyed relaxing for a bit. He lay in his armor and his rifle sat nearby. There was a planet wide celebration going and while Betna enjoyed a good, stiff drink from time to time, it wasn't really worth the jostling of people and slaps on the back and general hullabaloo going on inside. So here he sat on the roof with a big crock of tihaar next to him, braced up against the chimney. Half to keep the crock from rolling down off the roof and shattering in the street and half to keep the liquor slightly warm from the heat of the bricks.

Thinking a moment with a head slightly warm and fuzzy from the tihaar, Betna realized that he was comfortable, happy, warm, and very bored. He stared at the MandalMotors tower in thought as he lay there. At that moment, an idea hit him. He picked up the rifle and sat up a bit while keeping himself braced on the rooftop. He aimed the rifle and looked down the scope at the MandalMotors sign on the MandalMotors Tower. He adjusted for wind speed and distance. Gauged the trajectory and started to time his heartbeat. Betna slowed his breathing down and zoned into the shot. He visualized the shot and, very distantly, felt his finger pulling the trigger on the rifle. With a loud CRACK, he heard the rifle discharge and in the distance, he saw a puff of material explode outward from the center of the first 'A' in the MandalMotors sign atop the tower. Grinning at his own antics, he racked another round in the chamber and took aim at the second 'A' in the sign. This was beginning to be fun for him now.

Arla was wandering, amazed by everything she saw and touched. The generosity from those who didn't know her, the wicked smiles of men who wanted to know her. None however knew her last name as a Clan. What could she do now?

She had done as Arrbi had suggested check information, she had spent so much time reading records her eyes hurt. An elderly woman grabbed her hand, "Here" within moments she had a cup of something very dark, it looked thick like molasses. What was that. She tapped the bottom of the cup wanting Arla to drink from it. "oh"

Arla put her lips to the cup, the smell was sickening sweet, then she took some of the dark liquid into her mouth. It hit her tastebuds all at once, bitter sweet and she wanted to spit it out. But the woman was smiling, Arla thought that's what she wants me to do, well determined she took another draw, then tipped the cup up and drained it. Wiping her mouth with her sleeve, "Nice! thank youi" She could feel it turning her stomach over and over, this was not settling well.

Larraq waited patiently as the guards checked his name against a list provided on a clipboard and confirmed his arrival via communicator. Smiling politely as the guard welcomed him and told him how to proceed to the suite, Larraq nodded and thanked the man before making his way through the lobby.

As expected, the interior of MandalMotors Tower was rather nice. A small artificial waterfall here, a painting there, and an appropriate assortment of couches and plants. Nothing overly fancy, but not exactly Spartan either. And if what he had heard about the CEO of MandalMotors was correct, then the design and decoration of the building had clearly not been his idea.

Rygel Larraq had no conflict with the man himself. He was a Mandalorian through and through, and Larraq would never have a problem with such a man. But the company he ran was choking the life out of the local arms manufacturing market. If Larraq was to be successful with Mandal Hypernautics, he would need to find every weakness in the MandalMotors business strategy and take advantage of each one. From ship designs to business partners, Rygel Larraq would have to know MandalMotors almost as well as he knew his own business.

Stepping into the elevator, Larraq pressed the appropriate button and waited for the machine to arrive. Closing his eyes, he quietly hummed along with the music being played by the elevator. It was an old song. Made by some boy-band from Republic space. “I was like- Baby, Baby.” sang the small speakers built into the elevator, Larraq humming along. It was an annoying song, but gods help him, now he wouldn't be able to get it out of his head.

Verz made his way down the street, occasionally stopping to watch offworld performers that decided to help celebrate. This one was a group of contortionists, made up mostly of human and Twi'lek females in skimpy outfits. As one would expect, there was a lot of drunken catcalling and credit chips being tossed at them. Verz admired the view for a moment, then continued on to MandalMotors Tower.

He got there after a few more moments, and the guard let him in without hesitation. The Mand'alor's armor was unmistakable. Crimson red and battle scarred, his enemies and allies alike would be able to see him on the battlefield. Several people had tried to interview him for a biography, but most couldn't take the vivid descriptions of battle, being offworlders. A couple were able to, but nothing had been heard from them yet. Verz just hoped they wouldn't embellish. He didn't want the galaxy thinking he was titan or god . He was just a warrior fighting for his home.

He entered the elevator, and as soon as the annoying song from the Republic started playing, he calmly put down the tihaar, and shot the speaker with his Verpine pistol.

A man walked to the tower. He was in armor, helmeted but with a special menace to it. All around him he was covered in dirty, mummy-like bandages and rags. He carried upon his back a spiked object made from pure Beskar. Whatever yellow was left upon his visible grey armor had been sandblasted away. His hands were covered in Beskar gloves; Crushgaunts. Along his belt were Flechette Pistols, and also upon his back a Blaster Rifle with a Bayonet and Flamethrower. He was tall, very muscular, and very heavy. His feet thumped across the ground in a rhythmic pattern. His various grenades clicked together upon his belt. If the description wasn't enough, he was completely combat ready, though he wasn't looking for combat. This of course normal on Mandalore, to carry ones armor and weapons. But he was different, not only in his particular species (that ordinarily would be difficult to tell, if not for his modified helmet and signature rags).

The Prince of Sand, the Mandalore of Tatooine, Veteran of both Junction attacks, Concord Dawn, and the Battle of Mandalore. He had brought and lead Tusken Raiders here in the last battle, before the devastating nuclear weapon detonated. Many of his men died, the Five Hundred. He had gone back to Tatooine after the Invasion was repelled, went back to his exile as a Tusken Warlord. After leaving a second time, he doubted he would ever boast the title again. He did however, boast a new trinket around his neck, a Krayt Dragon Pearl. He wasn't usually one for jewelry, but he liked its glint and it showed publicly he had killed one with his own two hands... for those whom knew what it was.

But he was to the place of his childhood now, and he saw very few he recognized any more. These were drinking days, for sure. He had prepared himself some sugar in a pouch around his belt. He had taken a liking to more Tusken ways of intoxication. He wondered if mixing sugar to Tihaar would make him doubly drunk twice as quick. Only one way to find out. Like all the others, he stepped to were towards the guards. He was not recognized, his accent was thickened after this long time, and such a long time in the desert rendered his armor dulled and not recognizable. They stopped him hesitantly. It had been a while since he practiced his basic.

"Hutuun... Kyramud. Me, I am he." He struggled to pronounce. "Fought Junction, Concord Down, Mandalore. I saw the nuke. Brought Tusken with me." He continued to clarify, getting back into his old tongue.

Betna took aim once more and watched another puff of debris come from the second 'A' in the MandalMotors sign. It was then that he spotted something that piqued his interest. Through his scope, up on the wall of what looked to be the CEO office, were he to guess, was a clock on the wall. Realizing the thing was just asking to be used for target practice and how difficult the shot was, Betna couldn't resist.

He gauged for wind speed and direction. For range and bullet drop. He took into account the glass he would have to break through to hit the clock and how he'd have to make sure he was aiming correctly between the various potted plants. He timed his breath and heartbeat until the two were rythmed appropriately. Only then did he take the shot. He watched the glass puncture, but not break, and the clock stood on the wall for a moment before falling to the floor, a hole punched straight through.

Without a word, Betna snagged the crock of tihaar and took a swig. It was a good shot and worth a celebratory drink.

Arla had finally kept walking though whatever it was she had drank was certainly having its affects on her. She tilted her head back to look at the tower before her, she imagined meetings, and high powered mandalorians sitting around a table, all snug in their armor, drinking something better than swill.

She wasn't one of the high and mighty she was one of the down low and meek. She smiled, as her head rolled back. Maybe she should go and give them a piece of her mind. Hmmmm? Maybe. She looked up again.

That's right up there...in a minute, she wanted something else on her stomach to stop the swirling and twirling of the ground.

He could only smirk at the antics of the Mand'alor. Truth be told, he would love to be able to shoot up MandalMotors Tower himself. But, regardless of the reason, he had appearances to keep up. “I think you just did us both a favor, Mand'alor.” he said as he held out his hand to the other Mandalorian. “Rygel Larraq. CEO of Mandal Hypernautics.”

As the ding of the elevator announced their time trapped in a small, metal container had drawn to a close, Larraq gestured towards the door. “Armored patrons first? Best way to check for snipers.” He joked. However, as the sentence finished leaving his mouth, the unmistakable sound of breaking glass and a ricochet pierced through the hallways. “What the hell?” said Larraq as his head snapped to look in the direction the sounds had come from.

"Fierfek!" Verz swore and grabbed a nearby guard's rifle. He looked through the scope, looking for the sniper, and soon spotted @[member="Arrbi Betna"] on the rooftop. He would have shot the man, but noticed the tihaar, and had a hunch the man was having some drunken fun. Verz called up the Protector Commander and told him to send Mandalorian Protectors. Watching the nearest Protectors arrest the man, Verz turned to @[member="Captain Larraq"] .

"Seems someone was having some drunken fun. The protectors have handled it." It had been about ten minutes since the shot had been fired, and just as Verz was about to offer his guest some tihaar, the guards in the lobby called the room's terminal, which annoyed Verz. He walked over and answered, listening to them describe @[member="Hutuun'Kyramud"] . Verz's eyes widened, visibly surprised. "Well, send him up already! Or are you missing your heads?"

Kyr nodded to the guards as he entered the building. It had been a long time since he had been here... he wondered who had let him in. He thought about a few things waiting in the elevator. Kyramud was far too serious. He wasn't much for humor anyway, but he was definitely too dark for many vode to handle, and those who did know how to handle it usually did so at a distance. Even the Tuskens granted him no comfort. He was a ghost of both worlds now, but that was okay, because deep down, cutting through his doubt and anger, he loved them anyway. The Tuskens were a people he was associated with, but it was under the Oversoul that he truly found peace.

So then it would today that he met the new Mandalore, whom ever he was.

(OOC: @[member="Verz Horak"] fixed it)

@[member="Hutuun'Kyramud"]

As the elevator made it's little noise to announce its arrival and the doors opened, Kyr would have seen @[member="Captain Larraq"] and a familiar red suit of beskar armor. At first, Kyr might not recognize it, as it was a bit more faded and scarred, but when the helmet-less head turned to see who had arrived, it would have taken almost no time at all for the two friends to recognise each other. Though Verz could not see Kyr's face, and the armor was nearly devoid of paint, Verz would recognize the weapon that Kyr carried. In all his days, he only knew on Mandalorian who carried that weapon.

"Kyr? It really is you, isn't it? It's been a long time ner vod. Welcome home."

Having subtly stepped behind the armored frame of @[member="Verz Horak"] during the moments immediately following the shooting, Rygel Larraq had returned to his casual yet professional stance as he now stood beside Verz and spoke with him about the shooter. "For some reason I think that bullet should have hit me. Karma for telling a bad joke."

They had been speaking for only a few moments before a second elevator brought another Beskar'gam wearing Mandalorian to the conversation. Having no clue as to who this person was, despite Verz seeming to know him, Larraq simply waited politely for the two old friends to greet each other before he introduced himself. At least, he assumed they were friends.

Verz. Unexpected. Just as unexpected as Mia having been the Mandalore. It was nice to see however, in his past he had made very unique friends... two of them to become Mandalore. Not something most people can say. He nodded towards Verz, the Mandalore. They had fought side by side during Junction, and other battles. They brought down a building holding crazy Force Masters with grenades, a bond like that is something you don't forget... especially since he still wasn't sure if he could hear out of his left ear as well as he used to.

How does one greet an old friend? The last time he came here in the embrace of an old friend, he brought a small fleet of Tusken Raiders. Somehow, that didn't seem as appropriate in this instance. He didn't know what to say, and he wasn't one much for words. It was clear Verz was the Mandalore, it was his purpose coming into this building. A salute then, that's how he would return. With pride and loyalty, as he had shown in his childhood.

"Mandalore." He thumped a hard gauntlet fist against his chest plate, and bowed his head a bit, before returning to attention. That didn't seem to be enough for him, he need something more... substantial. It required more effort on his part after having come home from such a long time. "Old friend." He said shortly after.
