Heavy Warhead Payload - The main weapon system of the class is the mutiple warhead launchers which replace most other weapon systems
Weaknesses:
Light Hull Plating - The hull is a thin layer of durasteel plating
Expensive - Advanced building techniques and redundancies, makes the Manta-class Heavy Corvette cost as much as most cruisers currently produced throughout the galaxy.
Tough to repair - Once damage has gotten through the various redundancies they are very difficult to repair and require docking at a Mon Calamari Shipyards facility for repair.
Poor Maneuvering - Due to the mass of the ship it is less maneuverable than most ships of its size.
Slow Speed - Due to the additional mass from the heavier weapon systems the Swordfish-class has reduced speed.
Description: Designed as the ancient ships of the Mon Calamari, the new MC vessels are based on the principle of defense over offense. Favoring heavy redundancies and powerful shielding, along with lighter rapid firing armaments, the ships of the new MC line are meant to face off against enemies and outlast them in a war of attrition
Designed and build on the MCC20 Frame the MCC29 Swordfish-class Is the heaviest version of the series, designed for long range artillery support. Two Turreted Repeating Turbolaser Cannon are mounted on the dorsal and ventral hull. The Dorsal turret can engage targets in the forward two hundred and seventy degree arc. The ventral turret can cover a full three hundred and sixty degrees fire arc. The remaining turbolasers have been replaced by twelve General Purpose Warhead Launchers. These launchers are mounted on two forward facing pods on each flank of the vessels. These are fed from a Cased magazine and can fire a variety of warheads. Six General Purpose Warhead Launchers are mounted in a pod on the ventral prow of the vessel, These are fed from the same internal Cased magazine and can fire a variety of warheads. The warhead magazine includes a variety of missiles and torpedoes including Concussion Missiles, Proton Torpedoes, Plasma Torpedos, Carbonite Cluster Missiles, EM-03 Missiles, and Intruder Missiles. Four Rapid Fire Laser Cannon are mounted on the flanks of the vessel and cover a full three hundred and sixty degree arc of fire.
