Weaknesses:
Expensive - Advanced building techniques and redundancies, makes the Corvette cost as much as most frigates currently produced throughout the galaxy.
Tough to repair - Once damage has gotten through the various redundancies they are very difficult to repair and require docking at a Mon Calamari Shipyards facility for repair.
Thin Armor Plating - the vessel relies on its heavy shielding for protection and has thin armor plating.
Poor Maneuvering - Due to the mass of the ship it is less maneuverable than most ships of its size.
Description: Designed as the ancient ships of the Mon Calamari, the new MC vessels are based on the principle of defense over offense. Favoring heavy redundancies and powerful shielding, along with lighter rapid firing armaments, the ships of the new MC line are meant to face off against enemies and outlast them in a war of attrition
The MCC20 is the base line of Calamari Corvette designed for commercial and civilian use. While it still retains the robust construction and redundancies of the standard Mon Calamari warships it only equips the dual redundancy shielding and far less armament than the standard vessels. It is however not defenseless, it can hold its own against most pirate and raider threats one would encounter. 2 rapid fire turbolaser cannon turrets are positioned on the dorsal and ventral hull with a full 360 degree arc of fire. six rapid fire point defense lasers are spread along the flanks giving the vessel full coverage against attack craft and incoming projectiles. The hanger amidships is large enough to house a full squadron of attack craft or four attack craft and two freighters.
