- Accessibility: The Matron Deep Research Station is buried several kilometers beneath the surface of Osseriton, with the only accessible route down to the laboratory itself being a secret turbolift guarded by Imperial stormtroopers at all times.
- Description: The Matron Deep Research Station started out as a medical facility in the days of the first Fel Empire. Out of the way and secluded, it allowed Fel scientists of that age to work without interruption on their projects. It was here that Toran Fel was sent to receive a new experimental medical treatment to save his life. Since then it has been expanded many times over to become the central hub of all science development within the Fel Empire. Countless terminals line the central hub of the Lab, itself a large circular platform. Branching off across narrow walkways are numerous smaller labs for individual projects. At the back of the cavernous chamber is the Lab's private energy reactor, providing enough power to keep the Lab online for months.
- Central Hub: In the center of the Lab, on a large platform held suspended over a bottomless cavern is the Central Hub. Ringed by numerous terminals and holographic imagers, it serves as the main control center, allowing anyone to see what is happening across the lab at a moments notice. This is also where the main series of offices are, though they are few.
- Medical Wing: Lined with hundreds of tables and filled to the brim with medical equipment, the Medical Wing is currently the largest section of the Lab. Here new experimental treatments for wounded Imperial soldiers are developed, as well as the study of diseases and other threats to help protect Imperial citizens.
- Bio-Engineering Wing: The second largest section of the Lab. The Bio-Engineering wing is a portion of the lab dedicated to the study and development of new biological weapons, and the fusion of living and non-living components into a single entity.
- Weapon Experimentation Wing: This wing of the facility is devoted to the study, development and testing of new weapons of war before they enter mass production for the Imperial military.
- Force Wing: The smallest section of the laboratory, this section is devoted in its entirety to studying the force and providing insight into some of its inner workings as well as create effective counter measures to be used in the field against force-users.
SECURITY-High
The Matron Deep Research Station has a permanent force of twenty Imperial stormtroopers from the Palace garrison stationed within it at all times. Other then them, there are numerous automated defense stations spread out through the facility, as well as chemical defenses in case something breaks out.
- Chemical Defenses: The Matron Deep Research Station makes use of a mixture of Dioxis and Synox that has been vaporized and filled into canisters throughout the facility. They can only be activated from a control terminal by the stations commanding scientist.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Originally the location of intense medical research by the old Fel Empire, upon his awakening Toran Fel decided the lab needed to be expanded to better accomplish the needs of his fledgling Empire. Through careful screening and recruitment scientists from across the galaxy were brought into to begin their work. Only recently has the lab finally been able to become fully operational, after the Emperor found a new head scientist who he believed could make full use of everything the facility had to offer. Now, it serves as the scientific hub of discovery for much of the Unknown Regions of the galaxy.
