Masks of Madness Event Finale | Act IV: Madness

Screaming caught Voroll’s attention, from a few not far in front. A girl on the floor with a girl above her – lightsaber active and… hovering near her neck. Whatever the blonde-haired woman was doing, the rest seemed fine with it, even if she was searing the flesh of another. Although he had never seen such a move in practice, nor did he know that the green-skinned woman was about to bleed out before action had been taken.

He continued to fire from his pistol into the horde down the hallway, although from where he stood the accuracy seemed to diminish to zero. So he decided to move forwards, to try and hind some other cover and fire more rounds into the roaring, spitting, ramping mass.
Until, of course, he spotted the armour of @[member="Galaar CC-252"] on the floor, lifeless and unmoving with @Calico Tal’Verda close by.
Another pull of the trigger and another bolt of energy ripped through the air into the body of a Kursed being, but Voroll checked his aim and looked to Galaar on the floor for a few seconds. Heart almost dropping when he could not see any trace of life.
Had he been shot? Killed? No, surely not Galaar. Not him.

Aim and pistol lowered and he moved over to the body that was propped up on some unseen debris (maybe a body or rock), until his knees fell to the floor beside him. As if in a trance the pistol dropped and gloved hand moved towards the nasty, bubbled burn on the one side of the Mandalorian’s face. He gulped hard. No thoughts, no feelings, no pain. Nothing there other than wide eyes, glazed over as if staring into a distance that was not there. He was one of the few people in the Confederacy, no, in the whole galaxy, that Voroll considered a friend – sure he was friend to others as well, brothers to some; but friends were all the Empath seemed to have left in the universe – he did not want to lose any of them.
A deep sadness filled his body, replacing all the feelings he had once known. It wrecked his mind as memories were replayed from the dream-like state of the insurrection and to the events on Raxus.

Until a roaring seemed to pierce that veil and brought Voroll tumbling back into reality. One of the Kursed had pushed its way passed the group shooting and spinning lightsabers and forced itself onto the defenceless body that knelt before a dead one.
Hands shot up to meet the beast’s neck to try and stop it from clawing or biting at him. His head turned against the floor to create even more of a gap while the being clawed at his armour and face, ripping away flecks of skin on his cheek and near his eyes.

Voroll’s grip tightened around the soft flesh that connected head to body, squeezing until it was almost too difficult to squeeze any more. Eyes were closed as the clawing and noises the thing launched stopped, replaced only by the continued firing of blasters and the screams and shouts further down the hall.
When it could no longer support its own weight, it fell onto Voroll’s armour. Head still held up, although elbows began to shake and give. He let it fall onto him, blood spilling from cuts across the left-side of his face and saliva from the Kursed dribbling onto the floor past his nose.

He heaved it off from him and picked up his pistol again, before shooting it twice in the head.

Melantha rose to her feet, now freed from her bonds except the collar. That would have to wait. She eyed 'Tegaea', eyes narrowed. There was something odd here, but she could not place it. Her power was strong, but she knew well that there were powers above her level.
"Come, now my brother is gone we must seek out and destroy the seven incarnations here. If we can do that, we might have a chance of toppling Akala herself."
Little did she know she was in the presence of one of the seven!

Rianna could feel nothing, and yet everything her mind screamed in an agony that ravaged her body leaving her laying on the cold of the floor. She could hear others around her, she could barely tell the difference of who was around her. Slowly rolling over to her stomach her dark hair falling down covering her face, laying loosely upon her shoulders, where?

Her eyes slowly opened she lifted her head to look, unknown the answer. Oh a wave of nausea hit her hard, she felt it burn as she turned her head to ease the feeling there. Rianna began to push up, she had to get to her feet. Where were her companions, her family, her husband. The back of her head felt as though it were pulsing with a life of its own. Was it a dream she asked herself,

"Ord'ika" She whispered, her throat still raw. Rianna looked down at the locked door, she wished she had her light saber. a strange lock, but one she thought she could open, as soon as her mind could focus.

Ordo saw her finally as she stirred. His eyes wide as he reached for her through the bars. His heart had been through to much already he wasn't about to lose her now.

"Cyar'ika!" He said as he tried to touch her through the bars. "I'm here."

The area was a mess and battles and bodies still dotted the area. It looked like they had been left alone, at least for now. He was willing to fight his way out and keep Rianna close but he didn't seem like a priority on the bad guys to do list.

"Let's get you out of there." He said finally.

A familiar voice and the fog that rested upon her seem to clear she looked and reached out to touch his out stretched hand, "Cyar'ika Ridurr" Her fingers curled around his. "Where are we?" She continued to work the lock before, the force was willing but her skill seemed impaired diminished, how was that? Was she so drained?

What had been happening?

"Yes, out would be good, I am trying to work the lock with the force but my focus seems off or something is wrong." She was not worried or scared, she was however concerned about their condition, and of that of those around them.
