STRENGTHS
  • Gift of Gab: Tall, attractive, and possessing a silver tongue, Mary can talk her way into or out of various situations—a trait which has proven very helpful for her as a reporter, giving her access to places and people she otherwise could not reach, and without getting into too much trouble for it. Usually.
  • The Maestro’s Favor: Mary is not a servant of the Maestro—she’s his close friend and confidante. One of the benefits of being friends with an eldritch sorcerer is spiritual protection, whether that be a literal spirit sent along to accompany her as a spectral bodyguard, or a more subtle defense manifesting as a kind of supernatural good luck charm.

WEAKNESSES
  • Only Human: Plucky and spirited though she might be, Mary is still an ordinary human woman. She can fire a blaster or wield a vibroblade if she needs to, but she isn’t particularly skilled at fighting and lacks the Force powers of the Jedi and Sith.
  • Weirdness Magnet: Maybe it’s her connection to the Maestro, maybe it’s her personality, but the strange and the inexplicable seem to follow Mary everywhere she goes. Oh well, at least she'll never be stuck with nothing to write about.
  • The Ghost and Miss Muir: Mary has become involved in a doomed romance with a man named William Wolfe. Several obstacles stand between her and her love, chief among them the barrier between life and death itself—that is, he’s dead and she’s still alive. Mary remains stubbornly devoted to her ghost boy despite the turmoil and heartbreak it brings them both.

APPEARANCE:
“She walked toward him with a sprightly, energetic gait, smiling faintly. She was long-legged and magnolia-white; her dark hair was wild, framing a soft face accustomed to laughing, with cheeks like round apples and sparkling blue eyes. The old-fashioned black dress she wore looked charming and elegant rather than dreary on her, and it certainly did nothing to hide her impressive figure.”
