THE MAN BEHIND THE ROBES

Maphias Sha is a young Miraluka monk of the Order of the Uneti, raised within its charitable homes on Corellia and shaped entirely by its discipline, secrecy and sense of sacred obligation. Curious, earnest and quietly enthusiastic, he has spent most of his life among monks, caretakers and fellow children of uncertain origin. Now formally initiated as a Disciple, he stands at the edge of a much larger life, carrying his bonded bow-staff, his concealed ritual brands and a sincere desire to understand the galaxy beyond the only home he has ever known.

I // APPEARANCE

Maphias is a slender young Miraluka whose presence is defined by restraint rather than force. He wears the ivory, vanilla and gold robes of the Order of the Uneti, layered in flowing wraps and draped cloth that give him the bearing of a monastic traveller. His eyes are covered in the customary manner, his lack of conventional sight hidden beneath bandaging that sits naturally against the clean lines of his robes. Gold detailing, including the recurring pattern of three vertical lines, lends his clothing a ceremonial quality without making it ostentatious. Ritual brands rest at the base of his neck and along his upper arms, though these are ordinarily concealed. His bonded staff is designed to pass as a walking implement, allowing him to move through the world with unassuming calm until its true purpose becomes necessary.

II // TEMPERAMENT & BELIEFS

Maphias is disciplined and thoughtful, but not solemn to the point of lifelessness. He is curious by nature, inclined to ask questions long after others have lost interest, and genuinely fascinated by places, people and traditions beyond his own experience. That curiosity sits alongside a strong sense of loyalty to the Order that raised him. He accepts its covenant, its secrecy and its harsh necessities because he has never known it to be anything other than a force for protection and care. He believes deeply in service, vigilance and the importance of guarding the living plane from dangers most beings never perceive. Even so, he is still young enough to carry a certain impatience, particularly when asked to repeat lessons he thinks he has already mastered. His outlook balances warmth and obedience, earnest wonder and inherited seriousness.

III // HISTORY

Maphias was brought into the care of the Order of the Uneti at the age of five, carrying little more than his family name and no clear account of how he had come to be alone. Raised within one of the Order's charitable homes on Corellia, he grew up in the company of monks, caretakers and other children with uncertain beginnings. His Miraluka heritage was apparent from the outset, and the monks recognised both his Force-based perception and his promise. As he matured, his education expanded beyond ordinary childhood lessons into meditation, physical discipline, Force perception and the hidden history of the Uneti covenant, including its connection to the Guardians of the Whills, the Netherworld Crisis and the necessity of maintaining secrecy. Upon reaching eighteen, Maphias chose to undertake the Order's final initiation. The ordeal began with prolonged isolation and meditation upon a large kyber crystal, followed by the crystal's fracturing and the construction of his bonded weapon. The ritual concluded in branding and kyber implantation, a painful process that left him feverish and uncertain for a time before his recovery was secured. When he emerged, he had completed the covenant's rite of passage and was recognised as a Disciple of the Order of the Uneti. He now prepares to travel beyond Corellia, eager to see the wider galaxy for himself and to discover what the Order's teachings mean in practice beyond the shelter of home.

IV // PRACTICES & ABILITIES

Maphias has been trained in meditation, balance, staff work and the disciplined use of Force perception. His Miraluka senses make him especially adept at careful awareness, defensive techniques and maintaining perception across multiple individuals within a protected space. He has also shown talent for ranged precision, which helped shape his preference for a weapon that blends staff work with bow-like projection. His training emphasises vigilance, control and the practical defence of others rather than brute aggression. While still inexperienced in the wider galaxy, he is already a capable novice practitioner whose foundations are strong, particularly in perception, composure and defensive application.

V // POSSESSIONS & RELICS

His most important possession is his bonded Uneti bow-staff, crafted from compacted Uneti wood with gold fittings, runic inscriptions and violet kyber slivers embedded within its frame. In its resting state it serves as a traveller's walking staff, but it can articulate into an energy bow capable of firing concentrated bolts. That same ritual crystal was also pressed into the branded marks on his body, creating the resonance central to the initiation rite. Beyond the staff, Maphias carries the robes and travel effects expected of a young monk, keeping his belongings simple, functional and reflective of the Order's disciplined way of life.
