Suggestion Map Tools

Ever considered the distance between two worlds to gauge the feasibility of your story, or to give proper timeframes for hyperspace jumps, or to determine how far spread a corporate footprint is? It'd be an amazing feature to have some sort of point-to-point tool that can, in its most basic implementation, draw a line from one planet to another on the map.

Just a thought :)

Not sure how feasible one for our map would be, but there used to be this neat website: Astrogation Computer. You could put in Point A and Point B, your hyperdrive rating, and it would give you an estimate of travel time. Unfortunately it seems like it's not really working properly anymore (at least on my end). Too bad.

Even in canon there is no easy way to measure...and it often comes down to what the author needs it to be.

The sequel movies show it often as near instantaneous whilst older Legends books perhaps overdid the distances.

Distance is also complicated by the fact that it's technically 3D but we aren't bothering to show that.

Ultimately it's not something we're going to provide, but if you want to set a scale for your own use of one hex = x time/distance for your writing group, that's up to you.
