Many things take place

Looking over him, he only took a moment to think about what he wanted to learn. Then spoke about learning more of the force. It was new to him. And he seem surprised that he had the ability to use it. I knew he could because of how fast he was. Normal beings his size would have been easier for me to beat. However, he lasted longer than expected. So I owed it to him.

Smiling slightly as he put away his saber, I shook my head. "No, Take it back out. Don't activate it."

Walking closer to him, I used my right hand and took the lightsaber from him. "In your training, you will learn that your weapon, is your life. if it is lost. you are considered dead. However, you can come back. To do that, you must have the force. Now. I want you to take this saber away from my hand, without touching me in any form."

Looking to him, I nodded my head that I was being dead serious.

"Begin when you are ready."

Pel looked confused as Imura told him to bring his saber back out. He handed it to his master, and tilted his head slightly at his words. Thinking better than to question the purpose of this lesson, he kept his mouth shut. Pel remembered how he had felt a burst of energy fly through the air. No doubt, this was something similar. He held out his hand, and tried to think bout that moment. His breathing steadied, and nothing happened to the saber. The muscles in his arms strained, as if that would make it work.

Frustrated, Pel lowered his hand. It was then, he remembered how he had pushed Imura. He brought his hand up again, and let the frustration of not moving the saber flow through him. The fear he felt while flying through Coruscant. The anger at those who had wronged him. That same energy started pumping through his veins. The Force, that's what it was. Slightly, the saber would start to wobble, and try to pull itself out of Imura's hand, and into Pel's.

Slowly and slowly I watched as the saber started to move after much progression in trying to make the saber to leave my hand. While he had been talking it, I was focusing my attention upon the saber as well. Pushing on it just a little to strain his efforts. Not because I was mean, or cruel, but because those who learned under stress, or under the influence of action, learn faster. They feel things naturally, and for him to do that, he needed to stress his muscles.

Just like lifting weights, you break down your muscles, and then add weight to stress them. Building them back up so that they will become stronger in the end. It was closer when it reached towards his hand, that I pushed down just enough to break his concentration. Pushing it to fall towards the ground. I wanted him to learn how to do it over and over again until he had a few problems, but not enough to be shaking as much as he did.

"Try again"

The saber flying to my hand again, it sat there, waiting for him to do this all over again.

Pel could feel something as the saber came towards him. It was almost as if it was heavier in the air than it was in his hand. He grunted slightly as it fell to the ground, and shrugged. He watched it fly back to his master's hands. "Fine..." He stretched his hand out again, muscles tense. Once again, the saber started heading for his hand. This time, however, it moved quicker, and wobbled less.

Pel smiled as the hilt started to float through the air. This new found power was absolutely amazing. Pel would go through this routine until Imura deemed them done. Each time, he would add a little more passion to his power, invigorating him even more.

After multiple times of doing the same action over and over, I could see him using his fine motor skills to keep the saber moving towards him. In order to understand how to run, you need to walk first right? Hence why I wanted him to move simple object first. Moving from something small to something big will take less focus and less time to learn, as it is much easier to focus in on something, and then expand upon it. Smiling, I allowed him to have his saber back to himself. Letting it come to him freely.

"Now that you have an understanding of the small things...."

It was then when I raised my right hand. Beside me, a pillar around a meter in diameter, and two meters tall stood before him. Ready for what may come. I then walked over and hit it with my hand. a simple pat to show this is what I am talking about at the moment.

"Push it down, without touching it. The ability you used earlier, a force push, should work."

Pel clutched his saber in victory, and clipped it onto his belt. He assumed he wouldn't be needing it anymore. Then, Imura did something incredible. A pillar of rock rose from the ground. His mouth opened slightly, and he took half a step back. "The Force can do that...?" He looked at his Master, then back to the pillar of rock. He wants me to move that without touching it? Pel thought to himself. If he was allowed to push it physically, he probably stood a chance. But with the Force?

Pel shrugged, and took a stance with his left foot forward. He crouched slightly, and raised both hands, his palms facing the pillar. He closed his eyes, and did the same technique of bringing his anger, and fear, and passion to the surface. Allowing it to push him to his limits. The Acolyte imagined he had his two massive hands on top of the pillar. He let all of his emotions out on it, using it as a method to express his emotions. The pillar shook, and dropped down about an inch or so.

He felt it move, and felt the victory of having done it. But he knew Imura wanted more than moving it an inch. He put more passion into his energy. A drip of sweat crawled down Pel's face, and dropped off at his chin, followed by a few others. The pillar moved again, this time, another few inches. Pel didn't know how long he could keep it up, but he would until he was told to stop, or dropped dead.

"Argh..." The noise barely escaped his mouth as if it was being held in by immense pressure. The pillar slowly started going down again, this time at a steady rate. At this point, Pel had been at it for what felt like an eternity, but was probably closer to twenty or thirty minutes. Finally, the pillar collapsed into the ground, returning to its home. Pel fell to the ground again, kneeling as he had done before Imura. Slowly, his eyes opened, and his breathing was ragged.

Pel was surprised by how I could move the pillar from the ground. Even more so, that I could do it with ease. I watched as he got into position. Preparing himself to try and push back down the pillar. Even so, I watched him struggle as he tried and kept trying. I know how that felt. I really did. How do you think I was able to do this so well? Because I kept trying. and I never gave in. Now he must learn to do the same. I watched as it went down about an inch. Each time he kept trying and kept trying.

Eventually as he reached the end, and when the pillar was back flush with the ground. I nodded my head.

"Good, now pull it back up for me."

Pel looked at the spot where the pillar had sunk into the ground. Imura wanted him to pull it back up? He just shrugged, and rolled his shoulders. Pel held out his hands again, but his palms were facing the sky this time. He brought the Force to his side, this time feeling around the ground with his invisible hands. He felt the area where the pillar had been, and began to call it to the surface. He stood like that for a few minutes, but finally, the pillar jumped up and inch. Slowly but surely, it started to rise up more and more, until it was finally at the height Imura had raised it to.

He was getting a very fast grasp of the force. So much so that he was able to pull up the pillar of earth and stone with some work, but he did it none the less. Taking that into consideration, I smiled. He was getting good at it. This time, I decided that he would be learning this even faster. I wanted to see how well he could go. Reaching out with my hand, the lightsaber that was on his waist came to me. In a flash the saber was on, and the stone pillar was cut close to the base. However, it didn't move. Turning it off, I tossed it back towards him.

"Now. make the pillar levitate. And keep it there till I say you can let go."

[member="Pel Duval"]

Pel caught his lightsaber and dropped it to his belt in one swift motion. Levitate? That'd be harder. Pel rolled his shoulders, and put his hand out. He reached out with the Force, and felt the pillar. He grasped it firmly, and began to pull it up. At first, the pillar didn't budge. In fact, it didn't budge for a few minutes. Eventually, it began to rise up into the air. Eventually, Pel had it about a foot off the ground. He held it there like that, and it wobbled a few times in the air. Beads of sweat rolled down his face, but he would keep it there until Imura told him to let go.

While the other attempts to move things were more suited for that instant of using the force, I wanted to see how long he could use it. How long he could last in using the force. Much like having a physical body, you needed Muscular Strength, as well as Muscular endurance. The difference between the two? Strength was an instant reaction to a situation. Such as lifting a barbell keeping it there for a second, and then letting it drop. Endurance was more along the lines of a long run. A good 5 kilometer run where you didn't stop. In retrospect to this lesson for him.

The moving of the objects from one place to another was the Strength aspect. Keeping the pillar in the air was the endurance part. I walked over to him, looking between him and the rock formation. Seeing that at first he was slow to make it float in the air. I smiled when he finally did. But keeping it there was the problem. it wasn't floating there flawlessly. it was shaking. Moving a little because of his concentration.

"Focus only on the pillar. Nothing else around you. Only the pillar."

[member="Pel Duval"]

Pel nodded, closing his emotions in on the pillar. He honed in, ignoring the other students, ignoring Imura. The pillar slowly stopped its wobbling, rising up more into the air. "Like....this...?" Pel's voice was strained with pain. He let that pain fuel him, and added it to his anger. He moved his hand more to his right side, and the pillar slowly followed it through the air. Pel smirked, and just shook his head. The Force was absolutely amazing.

Soon the pillar was not moving. Floating there as the power of the force could be felt within this former slave. There is only one explanation that I had. And that he would be a very powerful force user, and was very fast at learning. Deciding that we would up the ability for him, just to see if he could, however I doubted it at this time.

"Reach out with your hand. Almost as though you are grabbing the pillar within your grasp, and try to crush it."

There was a chance, but as I said, doubtful at this time. I just wanted to see the extent of his abilities.

Pel just nodded. He raised his other hand, knowing he would need both for this. He moved the hands that were holding the pillar up, to its sides. He wrapped the invisible hands around the pillar. Pel took a few deep breaths, and put all of his strength into it, which, at this point, wasn't very much. His mouth formed a grimace, as he exerted as much pressure on the pillar as he could. A small, shallow fracture jumped across the pillar, only a few inches long. Pel stood like that for a few more minutes, never letting himself waver. However, he truly wasn't strong enough for the task. Finally, he spoke up, stopping his squeeze. "I'm sorry, Master. I...I can't do it." He stepped back, lowering his arms. The pillar fell to the ground with a loud thunk.
