History:

As the Gulag plague settled in, the Betna clan, and other Mandalorian clans, were cut off between Myrkr and Mandalore. As hunting became the primary source of food and supplies, but hunting beasts were scarce, the Mandalorians turned to domesticating the Vornskrs on the planet. While only marginally successful at first, the first few tamed Vornskrs became the forefathers of the tamed bloodlines to come.

Through the centuries of isolation brought about by the plague, the Mandalorian clans, lead by the Betna clan, began a selective breeding program. For generations they took the most docile of the Vornskrs in their care and bred them, slowly breeding out the worst of the aggression that comes naturally to the beasts. The breeders noted that without the poison barbs on the tail, the creatures became far more controllable, akin to castrating most animals for less aggression. Over time, the removal of the poison barbs became standard and, eventually, the breeds of vornskrs in their care that were selectively bred began to show the deterioration of the poison barbs until, within the last half century or so, the barbs were no longer seen.

The breed was considered a success and, when the plague lifted and the galaxy reunited, the clans were brought together as one once more. The vornskrs, dubbed Mandalorian Vornskrs by the galaxy as a whole, saw action here and there in the past. Noted for their ability to take commands, understand friend from foe with the proper handling, and their natural ability to hunt Force users, the Mandalorian Vornskrs began to see a growth in demand.

As such, the breeding program has expanded and the domesticated breed of the creature is slowly growing in supply.

Notable Player-Characters: N/A
Intent: To create a breed of Vornskr that can be more easily applied to the battlefield as the "wild" variants tend to be much harder to train and use. Also, to create a breed of Vornskr that can differentiate, to an extent and with commands, between friendly and enemy Force users when needed.
