Question Mandalorian questions

So I've been wanting to make a mandalorian for a while. I know theres foundlings who can be different races. But can i actually just be more or less any? Not a huge fan of writing humans lol idk y.

Also I'd very very much appreciate any tips or links to resources i could read.

Mandalorian isn't a species and hasn't been for a very long time. It's a culture, and canonically (EU as well) they generally accept any who are willing and fit. Foundlings tend to be children, from what I've read adults tend to need to work much harder to be accepted.

The Wookieepedia page is always a great place to start. Canon and Legends/EU both have tons of data, and I'm sure some of our resident Mandos would be willing to give info as well. The faction pages may have site-specific lore and all that too.

People have different views on what a Mandalorian should be and should not be, but it is generally accepted that any species can be a Mandalorian.

For me personally, what makes a Mando is T-Visor and Gun, any kind of gun. So, while there is no restriction, I usually would go for a species that a) has a head that can fit a T-Visor, b) has limbs that can hold and operate any kind of gun. So, just go wild they probably would fit either/both Mando major faction.

The ME has a Togrutan Mandalorian who has figured out how to make the helmet work with his montrals and lekku/brain tails. You can be any species you want as far as it matters.
