- Air-to-Surface: Designed for pure air-to-surface engagements, the underbelly of the Malak is a wide flat surface littered with weapon emplacements. Turbolasers, missile banks, and specialized orbital strike cannons ensure that anything beneath the Malak is in for a terrible bombardment.
- No Starfighters: Though possessing ancillary hangars for crew disembarkation, the Malak possesses no quarters for dedicated strikecraft like TIE Fighters. This reliance on other carriers can be detrimental to a lone Malak-class cruiser.
A reprioritization of siege instruments gripped the Sith Empire following the Siege of Commenor, which was only brought to a swift end by the Emperor's own flagship firing upon Munto City. Up to that point, the Empire had dug into defensive works around the capital city and conducted a long and gruesome siege in an attempt to bring down the domed shield.
Though the Empire possesses towering siege walkers and high-ordnance star fortresses, the newest technological breakthrough came in the form of the Malak-class Cruiser. A five hundred and sixty-meter long cruiser, the Malak's underbelly was flattened completely and outfitted with dozens upon dozens of grouped weapon emplacements solely for the act of firing down towards a target.
Moving through the atmosphere of a planet, the Malak could raze entire continents through systemic and creeping bombardment over the course of several hours or hammer a single point until nothing remained except a cavernous crater and slagged earth.
