  • Direct Fire - The M58 Praetorian Armor is capable of withstanding direct hits from low yield up to medium yield blaster fire, as well as shrugging off glancing blows from high yield blaster fire. However, it is otherwise incapable of withstanding the fire - direct or glancing - of anything the size of a Blaster Cannon or larger.

  • Fire Resistance - Both the Armorweave Cloak and the Armor itself are treated to be fire-resistant, capable of maintaining their stability in anything short of a high heat fire before the cloak and the armor plating begins to become damaged.

  • Neuranium Plating - Small, thin plates of Neuranium plates are located in key areas of the armor to protect vital locations, such as the reproductive organs and internal organs of the individual.

  • Tin Can - While capable of withstanding some direct hit and glancing blows from energy-based weapons, the armor is otherwise highly ineffective against Kinetic based weaponry. While small-caliber slugs and rounds can leave a dent, higher caliber slugs and rounds are more than capable of tearing through the armor with ease.

  • Oxygen Environment - The M58 Praetorian Armor is capable of filtering out debris, chemicals, poisonous gases, and other particular contaminants in the air; it is incapable of protecting against environmental hazards such as high levels of radiation for long periods of time. Likewise, the armor is incapable of being fully sealed to permit its use in the vacuum of space.

  • Neuranium Plating - Due to the material being one of the heaviest and densest in the galaxy, there is a limited amount of the material utilized in the armor. Even then, the armor is still heavier than most other armors and the Neuranium plates are located in vital areas only; with the suit only capable of protecting the individual wearing it from low to medium levels of radiation.

The M58 Praetorian Battle Armor retains much of the original design aspects and functionality of its predecessor, with few, if any improvements over the predecessor's capabilities - specifically its capability to withstand harsher environmental conditions and hazards. A marked improvement of the M58/P is the addition of Neuranium, a material that is often used to shield against radiation. However, due to Neuranium being one of the heaviest and densest materials in the known galaxy, there are only minimal amounts of the material in the armor, usually small, thin plates in vital areas - otherwise, the armor would be too heavy and dense to be of any use beyond an immobile tomb in the shape of a suit of armor. The thin sheets of Neuranium only ensure that an individual is capable of withstanding low to medium levels of radiation, and even then, its highly suggested that the individual utilize that capability and limited time to evacuate the area for their own safety. Some of the major hallmarks of the predecessor armor remain in the M58/P - such as its capability to shrug off low to medium yield blaster bolts, while also being capable of withstanding a glancing shot of higher yield bolts short of a direct hit from a Blaster Cannon or larger weaponry.

However, one of its primary faults remains - due in part to the materials utilized that ensure it is capable of withstanding energy-based weaponry - the armor is vulnerable to kinetic based weapons. Albeit, small caliber slugs, and rounds may leave a noticeable dent or otherwise penetrate with successive shots; higher caliber slugs and rounds are more than capable of tearing through the armor with relative ease. Likewise, unlike some other armors, the M58/P cannot be fully sealed to permit activities or use in the vacuum of space; with some of its electrical systems also being vulnerable to EMP/ION based weaponry which has the potential of shutting down a majority of the features.
