The M58 Medical Remote Mark II does not have much of an upgrade when compared to the Mark I; though its use is still effective when utilized by small units in the field which are otherwise incapable of nowhere near the primary mobile medical center. Likewise, on many planets, the training and equipping of such medical facilities has the potential of bankrupting many worlds in the Outer Rim Territories - thus the simple fact that the Mark II is a relatively cheap product compared to the Mark I, while also maintaining its compact size means that it is a must-have for many small world militaries. Much like the Mark I, the internal cavity of the Mark II was opened up as much as possible - without damaging the structural integrity of the remote or its systems required to function properly. This cavity contains the remote's primary use, an emergency medical kit.

Much like the predecessor unit, the Mark II still has many of their downsides - such as its weight, which adds an additional 3lbs of gear to an individual. The remotes are also often painted in a red and white color scheme, often causing them to stand out on a battlefield, and their primary drawback is that the medical kit is one use only - requiring any components used or otherwise soiled to be replaced as soon as possible. However, much like its predecessor unit, the Mark II overshadows these downsides due to the simple fact that it can provide medical attention to an individual, and is more easily carried into a situation where a larger medical droid would be a liability.
