OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Maji Ironworks
  • Affiliation: Maji Ironworks
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: M.I. ‘Sunstroke’ Jetpack
  • Modularity: Highly Modular
  • Production: Minor
  • Material: Duranium, Beskar, various other components
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Secure wireless link between device and wearer.
  • Personal deflector shield for wearer
  • Can be used in and out of atmosphere
  • Can be used underwater
  • Retractable missile launchers on either side
  • Gyroscopic stabilizers
  • Electromagnetic connections with a quick release feature
  • Insulation against EMP and ion attacks
  • Features a “jump” mode and a “flight” mode.
  • Electromagnetic panels to store small items.
STRENGTHS
  • Unlimited Powah: Using ion engines, the jetpack only requires sunlight to charge, resulting in a device that could potentially fly forever.
  • Gotta go fast: The jetpack has a high flight speed and gyroscopic stabilizers to maneuver effectively in any environment.
  • Bang boom: The jetpack is armed with two missile launchers that can be targeted using the wearer’s HUD. The warheads can also be swapped out to accommodate any type of scenario.
  • Tough: With a duranium shell (or Beskar), the jetpack can take a hit and still keep flying thanks to its rugged design, good armour and low number of moving components.
  • Safe bubble: The jetpack comes with a personal deflector shield to protect the wearer from small arms fire and small explosions.
WEAKNESSES
  • Loud: The ion engines have a typical howl and throws stealth completely out of the window.
  • Sun tan: While the device doesn’t need fuel, it still has to charge for a significant time before usage in order to run for a reasonable time. The auto charging feature also only works when in direct sunlight or openly catching solar radiation in space.
  • Bonk: The deflector shield does not provide adequate protection against large explosions or heavy weaponry meant for bigger targets. The ion engines also make it very easy for anti-air weapons to lock on.
  • Still a jetpack: While it has features to protect it from electronic warfare, it can still malfunction when not properly serviced and can be manipulated through the Force. It is also still a heavy weight on the back and takes up space.
DESCRIPTION
Meant to be a cheap and effective product, the ‘Sunstroke’ jetpack is highly modular and very economical to use. It can fly indefinitely if used correctly and utilizes two missile launchers for offensive capability.

Another useful feature is the onboard deflector shield for the wearer, giving them a bit more protection from shrapnel, grenades and typical handheld weapons when flying and maneuvering. It also sports a secure connection to its user’s suit as well as insulation against electronic attacks such as EMP or ion, allowing it to keep flying no matter what.

Unfortunately, it’s still a jetpack and flying can put its user in a severe disadvantage in some situations. Some force users can also manipulate it and the deflector shield does not protect against heavy weapons or anti-air devices.
