Relina Zhan

Ducha of Gallinore, "Apollyon the Slayer"
Relina smiled at [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]. "Very well, I will make the call." she said. She'd tap the comm and waited for an answer.

When the Security Spire answered, she spoke mellifluous Hapan, formally making the request to hold off on interrogating the suspect and suspending the authorisation of invasive methods. She also advised them that a special guest of her's will be assisting, but did not mention that he was a Jedi. the final response was an affirmative. Relina concluded with, "Te'ta'xida.", looking to Josh.

Hanging up, she slipped the comm back into her robe pocket. "it is done. I will take you to the Security Spire myself after we eat." she said, tiredly. She'd take another shot of brandy, offering the bottle to Josh. It would be some time before dawn. "Come... sit with me." She added, once more looking up at that alien, rainbow sky. Incidentally, the only lights in the enclosure were those from the gardens beyond, the ones under the pool's water making it glow a brilliant cyan, and the light of over a hundred stars reflecting off of the lightyears-thick Transitory Mists, which lit up the night sky unlike any other place in the Galaxy.

He nodded in response. "Alright" Joshua responded as he'd wait for Relina to finish on the call. He couldn't understand a thing they were saying, obviously, he really needed to take time to learn the Hapan language. He'd have to ask, actually... It'd be a good skill to learn. He only knew the native Basic, as well as Binary, himself. Enough for his job.

Once she'd hung up, and explained, he would nod. "Sounds good" Josh responded, accepting the offer and taking a shot of the brandy. It was funny, actually. Josh hadn't been a drinker last he'd seen Relina, if she'd cared to remember, him not only accepting it, but taking a good long shot before returning the glass to her would be a shock. It seemed even Jedi got stressed. He would accept her offer to sit beside her as he'd do so and gaze up at the alien sky of Gallinore... And then he decided to ask his question.

"Hey, Relina? Depending on how long I stay, and how long future visits might be, which I might do more often if you'd want me to... Would you be able to perhaps teach me how to speak your language?" Josh would inquire curiously as he looked over at her. "It'd be a way for us to communicate wherein only your people or someone who's learned it would be able to know what we're saying" Josh would explain. "... And it'd be hilarious to surprise your sister and your friend Alara next time they're gossiping at the dinner table while sneaking peeks at me, in their language" He would add, a devious grin crossing his face.

Relina chuckled at [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]'s request. "Very well. I don't know how well I can teach it to you myself, considering it is my first language and I know it because I was raised speaking it. I didn't learn fluent Basic until i was around 16 years of age. I didn't exactly use it that often, either, until I sometime after the war." She explained. "i can try, but if necessary, i can get you to meet with a language teacher."

Relina would roll over to her side to face Josh. "My sister is, like everyone, a product of her environment. See, she was educated by private tutors and by our Mother. She actually went on diplomatic trips with her much more often than I did, because I was educated at the Clavelle Academy of Military Science... a prestigious military boarding school. Naturally, I found myself serving in the Royal Navy and I am still involved to this day, except I'm not on active duty presently... However, i can be, should Erenada require it." she explained, using a Hapan honourific for the Queen Mother. "My twin and I are mirror-image identical, can complete each other's sentences, and tend to have similar tastes in things. But that is where the most visible of our similarities end... but, I swear, sometimes we can read each other's minds, it seems." she added.

Relina was vaguely aware of her Force Sensitivity, since military physicals involved bloodwork and they test for midichlorians. If she was Force Sensitive, then her sister was equally so and this could explain the nature of the bond between them. A study of Gallinore's history would reveal their ancestral lineage, which would help explain alot. The alcohol was taking its effect on Relina now as her body metabolisied it, evidenced by slurring a little more noticeably on her accented Basic.

"I think I'd rather from you, but if you need to use a language teacher, feel free. You seem to speak Basic just fine though, considering your first language is Hapan" He would remark, chuckling just a little. The blonde haired Jedi Master greeted her turning to face him with a cheeky little grin. "Besides, I'm sure you'd just love an excuse to spend a little more quality time together" Joshua would joke, the grin only getting a little wider. "Just you and me, all alone in a room, trying to learn a language for hours on end. Not a bad idea, eh?" He continued joking, before listening to her talk about her sister.

"I see..." He said. "You're pretty much the same, but you're also polar opposites. It's an interesting thing to think about" He responded. For a moment, his gaze moved to the floor and he frowned.

"... My brother and I are just polar opposites and nothing else"

He hadn't mentioned a brother before.

Relina blushed a little at what [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]'s next facetious quip entailed... although she knew not all of it was sarcasm. "I don't need an excuse to spend time with you." she said evenly. "The thing that I think non-native speakers struggle the most with is our grammar. Master that, and the rest should come along more easily. The way I understand it, subject and predicate is fluid, depending on context. For the most part, Sentence structure is linear, similar to Basic." She explained. "Flarette'e'rellaren? is a question asking if dinner was spiced well. To break it down," Flarette" refers to dinner itself. "E'rellaren" basically translates to "well-spiced", albeit the whole phrase is presented int he from of an interrogative. The word for "well" in the context of favourable is not to be confused with the word for "good" or subsequent derivatives. "Saroon" means, literally, "good". Derivatives all use the first syllable, "sa"." she explained further.

In her mildly inebriated state, she probably was explaining it better than she would sobre and dead-tired. She'd pause on her explanation so as to not overwhelm him. Hapan wasn't as easy as, say, Huttese.

He wouldn't mind spending time with Relina, of course, they'd hung out many times before. But there was a playful tone in there, as always. He was definitely a lot more playful and flirtatious then he used to be, but he'd always been like that, albeit a lot more quiet. Joshua smirked at her response, and chuckled with a cheeky smile. "Fair point" He responded. "You've always only had to ask if you wanted to spend a little quality time together anyway" He would add, cocking his head playfully.

He listened as she - while he could sense the alcohol in her voice - would explain the basics of their language. There appeared to be quite a bit of grammar involved. Great. And the best part? He wasn't even that great at learning new languages. It was a miracle he could understand binary so well, and he didn't need to speak it, only be able to understand it. This was something else entirely.

This could take awhile. But he had time, he supposed.

Relina had a mind to set [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] up with language learning discs. There were fairly good ones available, but they weren't cheap as they were the sort that high end business people and government officials used to learn at least proper Hapan in as short a time as possible. Josh was an intelligent man. Relina had faith that they would soon be conversing in the language she was actually the most comfortable with, if only so for the sake of familiarity. Her eyelids grew heavy as she put the bottle down.

"Remind me to set you up with tutorial discs.... We have to fly a ssspeeder to the Spire by about 1100 hourssss. I fly nice... not to worry..." she said, softly and wearily. despite all that has happened, her sleep was catching up to her. The alcohol had that effect as well as relaxing her enough to allow her body to sleep. Hopefully, she wouldn't regret it when she woke up.

"A little expensive, aye?" The Jedi would remark toward her, raising an eyebrow. That chit was a little too rich for his blood. "I... Don't really want you to be spending that much on me, Relina, no matter what I've done" He would admit, scratching his head. "I can't even afford them myself, why would I want someone, noble or not, spending just so I can learn a language that I only want to learn for the sake of communicating with you more privately?" He would inquire, with a curious tilt of his head. "Sure, learning in other ways is more difficult, but... Cheaper, for you. I don't know if I'd be able to accept your money, or its results" He would admit, biting his lip.

He noted the obvious slurs in her voice. Nothing he said would get through to her when she was drunk, he realized. "Alright, I'll be ready to go when we're ready to fly" He responded curtly. He heavily considered pulling a prank to wake her up when he realized how drowsy she was coming off as.. And a way to see just how intoxicated she was. But he'd pull it another time. After tonight, she needed what sleep she could get.

"You seem tired, Relina. Shall I escort you back to your chambers?" He would inquire.

[member="Relina Zhan"]

Relina Zhan

Relina inhaled deeply and parted one set of eye lids at [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]. "perhaps.... if the glass is cleaned up." she murmured. It should be by now. She'd raise a dainty hand up toward him so he could help her stand.

"it seems sleep has finally caught me." She said. She liked the gentlemanly type, but was also secretly attracted to the scoundrel archetype. Josh was beginning to appear to be a cross between the two, all packaged in a Jedi wrapper.

It was pretty obvious by now that Relina was tired out to the point of just passing out then and there. He didn't need the Force to see that, pure human sight and instincts could tell you that. "I'm sure it is" He remarked off-handedly in response as the Jedi Master would raise off his seat and get to his feet, brushing off his pantleg before extending a large hand and slipping his fingers between Relina's. Sure, his whole hand could probably engulf hers, but he preferred the more elegant method. He would smile faintly as he gently pulled her up, trying his best not to use too much strength and move her abruptly in a way that could jarr her awake and make useless the attempts she had made in order to allow herself to be able to sleep after the shock of the attempt at her life earlier in the night.

"Looks like you're having a bit of a hard time there" He would remark. He doubted anyone wandering the halls would want to see their Ducha tumbling over in the middle of the hall, even if he did support her. And he doubted she would want them to see it either once she woke up and came to her senses. So the only sensible thing that the young man could think to do was gently move a hand to her leg, and another to her back, and sweep her off her feet, gently picking her up bridal-style and lifting her up properly until he was comfortable and she was in a position that could be considered comfortable.

"Let's get you back, shall we Ducha?" Joshua would remark softly as he would make his way out of the room. She'd shown him her room before, he knew where to go. His own quarters being nearby made it much easier to remember, he would realize, and before long, he would find himself back in the Ducha's bedchambers. Everything seemed to be cleaned up, he noted as he would place the Ducha in her bed and pull the covers up to her chest once he made sure her head was rested onto a pillow. He'd certainly make quite a father one day, he could just hear Aleidis joking about if she were still with him and could see this now. But he was still a young man yet. In his early twenties, the Jedi Master, possibly the youngest Grandmaster in the history of the Republic Jedi Order, still had years ahead of him to learn everything about it, no matter when the chance would come up.

It was funny, really... He had wisdom far beyond his years, and a disposition that came with the more experienced of Masters, when he was still a pup himself. But it was an effect of suddenly finding himself in a position of responsibility. He didn't become the way he was because he wanted to... He became the way he was because he had to. Being thrust into the Jedi's equivalent of the highest ranking monarch or political power was a life changing experience for a man his age, and he was forced to change to fit the role and be capable of fulfilling his obligations to best serve and further develop the Jedi Order that at one point, he once loved more then life itself. Sometimes, when he lay awake at night, the former Grandmaster would look back and ponder what would have been if he hadn't been forced out of position like he had been, not betrayed like he was, and had stayed with the RJO and stayed as Grandmaster... Through thick and thin. Would he have been as happy as he had been before he inevitably left the Order due to it's stabbing him in the back? He knew now that it would have been a tough job, with all that had happened soon after he had left... But part of him just didn't care. He loved it. He loved it, loved it, LOVED IT. It was his LIFE. He had been a member of the Jedi Order since he was five years of age. An orphan, picked up from a smoking wreck, on the cusp, the brink, of death... They had saved him, and they had become his life. He had given his life for them, he had given his loyalty... His hard work, his dedication.. He had shed his blood, sweat and tears, to serve a cause that he felt was just and right. And he couldn't be happier... The days he spent there were long, hard and arduous. But they made him happy. Becoming a Knight, serving on the Council, becoming a Master.... Being able to better serve the Order... It only made him happier and happier. Becoming Grandmaster was like a dream come true, and he had embraced the role like it was a member of his family. He was blessed to have the role, to be able to serve and further the Order to his fullest capability, and it made him the happiest he had ever been in his entire life. He dealt with hardships, with life and death... As the people he loved and cared for passed on into the Force, and he was forced to see them die one by one... But he was able to keep going, because he knew he was bettering and furthering something that could keep this galaxy in peace.

But what had changed him the most was that final betrayal. When a group who's views of how the Order should run differed from his own... Outnumbered, he had been pushed out of his position, backstabbed, betrayed... And his position was soon snatched up by people he thought he could trust, and the protestors suddenly stopped. Vows were broken, he had realized he had been deceived... He was heartbroken. Crestfallen, his entire life had fallen apart around him. His one source of true happiness had been taken from him out of pure selfishness. Why? Why had they done that? It was simple, really... They didn't care for the dreams, the happiness of others... Only their own agendas. This aggressive, power-hungry nature that spread throughout the Order made it harder and harder for him to stomach being there anymore. He tried, so hard... Oh so hard... To keep serving. But his faith in what he had once considered a just cause had been broken. It sickened him.

He had to leave.

And when he did, it opened his eyes, truly opened his eyes, to the galaxy around him. He'd lived his life on blind loyalty from day one, until the day he left. And just like that.. The galaxy opened itself up to him.

But it was a lonely path... And it still was. Because while he was free... He was free, alone. None stood with him. He stood alone, and while it hurt, he soon came to accept it.

That was just the cruelty of this galaxy.

He had changed so much... And suffered so much since the last time he and Relina had crossed paths. He would never be able to convey to her, nor anyone else, how he truly felt about everything... It just hurt too much.

Since then, he had not found a cause that fit his views. His views of the Jedi Order he once knew. While he had left this new version of the Order, his loyalty to the ways he was raised on had never left....

Just hungered to come home.

Sometimes he wished this hadn't happened... He wished he was still happily blind, with the Order... But deep down, he knew that the Force had a funny way of working.

His destiny, his reason for existing, the reason for his pain and suffering.. He knew that it would come someday. Perhaps it already had. He'd used his time to rid the galaxy of slavery, bit by bit, piece by piece... One slave camp at a time. He didn't do it for money, he had his ways to make credits, but he only did so he could survive.

Perhaps this... Was the destiny he'd had all along.

But no matter how much he changed, he was still Joshua to Relina. He would smile as he would finish tucking her in properly. "Is there anything else I can do, Ducha? Glass of water? Kiss goodnight?" He half-joked with a light chuckle, a light pinch of sarcasm in his voice as always.

The more things changed, he supposed... The more things stayed the same.

Relina, indeed was taken back to bed, now cleaned of debris and made neat again. This night had been hectic, the excitement unwanted, but just as well. She had seen a side of Josh she hadn't actually witnessed before directly. Maybe he would do? She wouldn't say it out loud at this point. She had stumbled a little, but surprisingly could walk even while under the influence. She was of the Royal Navy, after all, and there still existed stereotypes of Navy officers... swearing, drinking, and fighting. Relina could do all three with the best of them, but being a lady of noble birth, knew when to be formal and posh and when to act like anyone else. At this hour, she'd have said, 'frak it" and got smashed, which evidently is exactly what she did considering the circumstances.

When she was asked if she required anything further, she gave a cheeky grin at the mention of a good night kiss. She sat up and pecked [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] on the cheek. "Saldos, shakal Joshua." she said softly before letting herself back down. She didn't bother translating for him, opting to keep him guessing at the meaning and the connotations of what she said. The first word was simple enough and probably obvious given the time of day and the situation. The second, however, was more complicated.

Relina would put her hair, which had been down since she got in bed the first time, over the shoulder she wasn't laying on as she turned onto her side and let her eyes close. She put her comm on the nightstand and slipped her gun under her pillow where it belonged.

To be honest, the little kiss on the cheek caught him by surprise. And just like that, the confident exterior vanished as he blushed vibrantly, but turned away before she could see it for more then a moment. He didn't know how to feel about that, but he'd assume that it was just her "cheeky" response to his sarcasm.

He wasn't sure what Saldos, shakal meant. He assumed it might have just meant good night. And since she didn't seen to be elaborating and went silent, that was his cue to go without putting too much thought into wondering. He'd probably figure it out sooner or later - hopefully.

With that finished, the Jedi would smile back at her and return to his quarters without another word, finally getting the sleep he'd needed for quite some time...

[ Part A end, Part B start ]

"All My Life" (Gigamesh)

Relina woke up a little later than usual, given the circumstances of the night before. She was still dressed in her robe and swimsuit from the night before. She decided to go back down to the pool for her daily routine instead of a jog. She'd take her comm with her and slipped on her purple ballet-flat slippers. Breakfast was being prepared and she could smell it on the way down.

"...someone I thought I trusted tried to off me last night... Let us see how Joshua handles things." she murmured to herself as she got off the lift and continued onward. Surprisingly, she was not hungover, but she was a bit groggy. Her stroll was at a brisk, purposeful, but still somewhat casual pace.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

As did the Jedi, who after freshening up would dress the same way he had for half of the day before, after Relina's suggestion he dress into something nicer. He didn't have another suit, and he hadn't worn it that long the day before anyway, mainly just for the dinner, before he'd put it away in favor of something more comfortable.

Once he was all set up, the Jedi would make his way, the long way around, taking a stroll along the way to explore, toward the dining room, knowing that breakfast still wouldn't be served for a little while yet.

[member="Relina Zhan"]

Relina Zhan

Ducha of Gallinore, "Apollyon the Slayer"
Relina slipped out of her robe and slippers and set them on the lounger she was using last night. She'd wave a hand over a sensor that turned on a stereo system that played something a bit more upbeat this time. In general, it seemed her taste in music was largely electronica, although a raid through her personal music collection would reveal a variety of genres and artists. The particular song she had going had lyrics in Basic, incidentally.

She walked around the pool to the deeper end and, after a stretch, dove right in. She'd begin doing a series of laps, each one with a different stroke to ensure every muscle in her body was being applied. Per military protocol and her own benefit, she had to stay fit.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

During his stroll, he would happen to pass by the pool area, and would decide to see if Relina was around there, still tryinh to relax after the events of the night before. He could hear music this time, was that electronica? And for some strange reason he thought he could understand lyrics... Odd.... Oh hey, they were in Basic!

It wasn't long before he spotted Relina stretching, her back turned to him, giving him quite the view that he couldn't quite resist checking out just a little bit. He was still a young man, Jedi or not, and if was normal to have... Thoughts, like that, sometimes.

She certainly looked good, he could say that. Though he had to be careful not to bring attention to it if he checked out her hips again in future.

Once she was in the pool, he considered perhaps not disturbing her after all... She needed to relax after the night before, no?

Relina Zhan

Ducha of Gallinore, "Apollyon the Slayer"
Relina, by the second verse, noticed [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]. "Sallan!" she greeted him. She was simply treading water at this point. She seemed plenty relaxed as well... and quite sobre. The morning sun was filtering down through the enclosure, negating the need for artificial lighting. The sky looked like that of most any other world, pale blue with white clouds, and a white-yellow sun. The pale grey crescents of Gallinore's twin moons, Nessus and Pholus, were still visible, although the smaller of the two, Pholus, was setting, Nessus still high in the sky. They weren't present in the night sky at this time of the month, incidentally.

"Would you care to join me?" she asked. She wasn't so much bothered by Josh seeing her in little more than a purple, stylish, cut-out one-piece. It showed quite a bit of skin, but she trusted her present company. Were it any other man, she'd have an actual problem. "The water is fine. Swimming is an excellent way to stay fit, you know?"

Oh lordie, if she'd caught him checking her out just a bit when she was stretching, he'd be in some serious trouble most likely, he thought when he heard her greet him. But by her reaction, she likely had only seen him there while she was swimming. But it looked like she'd sobered up. The Jedi would let out an exhale, perhaps one in relief before he would walk in. Her offer made him curious though, and he would tilt his head.

She didn't seem uncomfortable at all that he was seeing her in swim-wear, that showed quite a bit of skin. He had heard of the sensitivity of Hapan women when it came to men in this instance... It was new to him, these behaviors from her. But he would shrug. "I don't see why not" He spoke calmly. "I could try and see if I left any swim wear in the ship"

[member="Relina Zhan"]

Relina Zhan

Ducha of Gallinore, "Apollyon the Slayer"
Relina nodded to [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]. "I would also like to speak about how we are going to handle this sordid issue today." she said, now moving toward the shallower end where she could stand. She wondered how Josh intended to perform the interrogation... with his charming good looks or with Jedi mind tricks?

She knew he had to have been checking her out, too. She didn't really mind it that much. Josh, to her, was a beautiful man, although 8 years younger than her. She liked him well enough, but she remained reserved about her feelings, unsure whether letting their relationship blossom from friendship to something more would have any serious impact on either of their professional lives. And if it became more than just a healthy friendship, what purpose would a Jedi Master serve in the Hapes Consortium apart from being on the arm of a Gallinorean Ducha? Well, in her mind, he'd make a handy bodyguard, as evidenced by his heroics the night before. All things considered, half of her mind was telling her that she'd be insane to let this one go.

Well, he didn't know she knew, so the less he knew, the better, right? He nodded toward her. "We'll talk in a moment" He said as he would leave the room. The Jedi would return soon enough, once again shirtless, with his shirt draped over his shoulder, and wearing black swim trunks. He'd somehow managed to get back without being seen by anyone else in the place. Well, not "somehow". He just used the White Current and nobody saw him. He hadn't unveiled himself until he had returned. He would toss the shirt onto a nearby chair before gently wading into the pool with Relina.

Perhaps once or twice, he'd considered what a romance with Relina would be like, entertained the idea, but he'd dismissed it as something unlikely, and told himself to just keep looking. Of course, what would that bring along if it did happen? He wasn't really sure. Besides probably additional bodyguard duties. He certainly wouldn't appreciate being considered a bodyguard, though. He'd helped a friend last night, and done his job as a Jedi. Nothing more.

How their relationship would develop... Well, he'd leave that up to fate though.

The question in his mind though was... Do she got a booty?

After that little check out, one thing was obvious.

She doooooooo.

Regardless, the blonde would make his way over, and smile faintly at her. "Let's see... The interrogation. I have a pretty good idea of what I'll be doing" He admitted. "Will try some gentle diplomacy at first, and if that doesn't work out, then I'll try some other measures. Anything else I should know?"
