Strengths:
  • Circumference mounted armament allows for the Lucrehulk Core Ship's weapons to be used in a nearly three hundred and sixty-degree arc of fire.
  • Integrated Droid Brain allows the Core Ship to operate itself with a skeleton crew.
Weaknesses:
  • While the Core Ship boasts high offense and defense for its design, it possesses no ability to escape smaller ships if it is severely damaged and forced to retreat. It will always be outrun by its opponents.
  • The Core ship has little offense in the ways of capital ship weaponry and is primarily designed to take out starfighters and ground forces.
  • The command bridge is very exposed and large enough to easily be hit from almost any strike craft.
Description: After the ground invasion at Tatooine the Confederacy realized that they needed to exploit the use of their Lucrehulk's more. The ground invasion lost between 20% to 50% of its forces per battalion due to the ships' low speed, and the requirement to have the ships instead of the normal compliments for Providences and Lucrehulks reduced space superiority. The CIS command decided to put more effort into the use of Lucrehulk Core Ships, which by themselves can carry 60,000 battle droids, along with the supporting armor required for the battalions. The ship is designed off of the original CIS's Core ship, but with increased defenses to allow escape from the ground if the army has to evacuate.

The CIS command decided to put more effort into the use of Lucrehulk Core Ships, which by themselves can carry 200,000 droids, along with the supporting armor required for the battalions. On top of this, it also has room to house 60,000 organics comfortably.
I realize that these are based partially on the canonical core ship, but these numbers are also quite high. The 200,000 figure also appears to be for maintenance droids, rather than battle droids. While I am unaware of the exact maintenance droid model used here, most that I've seen tend to be smaller than the average human or battle droid.

I can get behind this having 60,000 passengers (troops or battle droids), in part because this is the canon number listed for the Core ship. And in part, because this has a lot of internal volume being a sphere (which also makes it a pretty easy target).
