SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Boiler Rifle: The Flashfire is a modernized version a boiler rifle, which fires exceptionally bolts at the cost of higher blaster gas consumption. Compared to its predecessor, the Flashfire makes extensive use of hadrium and cooling fins on the barrel to better withstand the high heat produced by this process. The company also managed to make the circuitry both smaller, cheaper, and longer-lasting, but it still needs to be much more frequently replaced compared to the average blaster rifle. In order to improve handling, the gas container fits just behind the pistol grip and underneath the buttstock.
  • Modular Galven circuitry: Because the Flashfire's galven circuitry needs to be frequently replaced, Lucerne Labs made this process as painless as possible, with a simple latch needing to be opened to quickly replace the circuitry even in mid battle. Deciding to make the most of an inherent weakness in the design, the company made several different types of galven patterns. The most common and cheapest kind produces is based on Cracken's upgraded galven pattern, which produces a noticeably larger blaster bolt than normal - typically referred to as boiler rifle mode. But another type called the Long-Range Precision by the company uses precise galven circuits to make longer-ranged bolts suitable for precise sniping on the battlefield. Lastly, a circuit contains abbreviated galven patterns by also a number of beam splitters turns the Flashfire into a scattergun which fires a dozen bolts at a time.
  • Picatinny Rails: The Flashfire has a half-length Picatinny rail on the top, which is typically fitted with a Zolta-series Targeting Scope or a TruSight-series Multi-Optic Sight. Optional picatinny rails can be screwed on to the sides and underneath the barrel, which allow it to accept aftermarket attachments such as underbarrel weapons, grappling hook guns, and tactical lights.
STRENGTHS

  • Jack of All Trades: The Flashfire can be easily adapted to become designated marksman rifle or a scattergun in just a few seconds by swapping out galven circuitry patterns.
  • Heavy Hitting (Scattergun Configuration): In scattergun configuration, the Flashfire rpdocues a dozen blaster bolts, each of which is equal in power to the typical blaster pistol bolt.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ammunition Drain: While reasonably power efficient, the Flashfire drains blaster gas noticeably quicker than most blast rifles, meaning that it has less ammunition than most similar weapons
  • Short-Range (Scattergun Configuration): While powerful, each scattergun blast is fairly short-ranged because it doesn't have full length galven circuitry to fully focus the bolts.
DESCRIPTION
The Flashfire is an upgraded model of the classic Boiler Rifle that fulfills a medium-range blaster rifle niche within the Lucerne Personal Defense blaster product line. Like many of the company's other products, designers sought to make it a fairly adaptable weapon, taking advantage of an inherent design limitation in its near disposable galven circuitry to make several versions of the circuitry in order to get different effects. Consequently, with a few seconds of work, the Flashfire can change from a simple blaster rifle to a long-range marksman's weapon or a short-ranged but powerful scattergun. Regardless of its configuration, the Flashfire is a fairly powerful weapon, but one that's somewhat limited by its higher than normal blaster gas consumption rate.

Flashfires are a reasonably common choice within the planetary defense and private security forces within Silver Jedi Concord space in large part due to their easily handling despite their high power. Independent owners, especially hunters, frequently like the ability to effective only carry a single weapon but have essentially have the abilities of multiple weapons: a hunter can switch over from sniping large game to blasting birds out of the sky with a single galven pattern swap.
