Down and down they went, with Melydia growing increasingly unease - or perhaps more accurately, restless with every passing step. Perhaps she had listened poorly to the sand and now she was stuck wandering pathways like a never-ending maze. Perhaps she and the others were doomed to an eternity of walking, finding a way out only when they themselves were at their end.

The warmth was a good sign, at least. It meant something was upcoming or at least nearby. Though minutes of walking in the increasing heat had her glad she'd picked (been told) today of all days to travel light. Still, she found herself wondering if the heat, too, would come to an end only when she did as well. And that wasn't a very comforting thought.

She didn't realize her was holding her breath until the pathway opened up into a chamber. She looked upon the cloaked creature with a curious gaze, already beginning to move forward before the words left his mouth. The command, however, had her give pause and cast a quick glance at the others with her. Kneeling would demonstrate subservience, something the insectoid wasn't keen on encouraging. And as one of her companions spoke, her brow furrowed, head tilting to the side.

"Or what are you," she offered shortly after Thesh's question. As she moved forward a couple more paces, an idea struck.

Was this hooded figure truly there? Or were they perhaps an echo of times past? She found herself, in the stead of kneeling, expanding her senses to focus on the hooded being, trying to ascertain a more thorough idea of their nature, lest everyone in the small group be played for fools.

Managed to do what she wanted, while two other young people joined her. The result was what she expected. It was for this reason that landed completely calmly, reaching the ground with a graceful, elegant movement. Glanced at the two children, then looked around at the place where they had arrived. The whisper didn't let her down now either, leading her to the best possible place. The place looked like an ancient library. The whispers became even more intense, though now so quiet that it was incomprehensible to the Truthspeaker. It is true that what she saw also distracted her. For her, such places meant everything, the knowledge.

Had just stepped to one of the shelves when heard a sound in addition to the whispers, and it didn’t come from her mind, but from elsewhere. From the middle of the library, Hyrva looked in the direction of the voices with an interesting expression. Wondered what could still be alive here after all this time. She thought someone had either come here and stuck here in some other way, or that the creator of the place had left behind some kind of guard, or “pet.” Whichever it was, it was interesting to the woman, she could go back to the books later, but if she doesn't deal with what’s causing the sound, it can even destroy everything.

More whispers; did not care for them, but rather tried to change her eyes with a shape-shifting so that she could see perfectly even in the light conditions here. Last but not least, in the Force she also tried to see and sense what might be there towards the middle of the library. Took a few steps in that direction, but she didn’t go too close and was also prepared for that something or someone might want to attack them. One way or another, but tried to prepare for every opportunity that could happen here if it turned out what they were facing.

"Wait, what the fu-!?" Her voice shouted out at the ground below her no longer stayed solid. All she had wanted was a moment to think and observe, but now she was falling? Panic filled her mind as she saw another floor rushing up to meet her. But she used that to fuel herself instead of falling to it. Her body twisted, and she hit the ground and rolled. Her landing was less than graceful, her slamming into one of the bookshelves to stop the roll with quite a thud. A groan escaped Alina as she pushed herself to her feet, quickly dusting herself off as her eyes scanned around the room.

A library? With actual tomes? Confusion filled her gaze as she looked over the shelf she hit. Her eyes narrowed at the sound of movement, pulling her attention from the shelf to where the 'center' of the library was. Not alone? It had to be a guardian. Or something else that made this their home. She avoided taking up her blade. Maybe they could be quiet. Well, probably not with her landing. Heads up would of been nice. Her gaze fell to Celeste Demici Celeste Demici , the distrust clear in her gaze.

She could never trust someone that got in her head.

"I'll join you." But it was her actions that had them down here to begin with. There was a strength there, and she wasn't about to be too prideful to go off on her own in an unknown part of an already unknown tomb. Asides, what if whatever was making the noise wasn't actually a threat, but something that could help her task?

At least enjoying the ceiling height while he had it the Cragmoloid huffed a bit as it started to squeeze in, luckily that simply didn't last long. As the pathway opened up into a great alcove the beast took it in for a moment. It was indeed quite the spectacle, and no doubt whoever was cawing out at them to bow and kneel excepted to be obeyed. However as each of his momentary herd approached, a bit cautiously perhaps, but unsubdued by the show. It pleased him to see a boy and a butterfly so strong in themselves.

As for himself he honestly never considered that the creature was even talking to him. After all who would have asked him to kneel and ever thought he would? Instead the gladiator walked up and gave a short trumpet as greetings. Looking him over he nodded his ridiculously large elephantine head before speaking. "Someone try to bath you here, eh? Had that happen once, bloody man dragged my body through a stream of it. Good fight that was, learned from it, and by the looks of it so did you with those fire eyes. So, what are you here to teach us? I'm assuming something fire like given all the heat. Well lets have it."

Stopping for a moment he considered it as he nodded at the butterfly, "Fire could be good right? Oh, imagine tusks of fire! Now that would be worthy of song. Oh yes, and a bit of fire wings for you. You'd shine like the sun out there." Turning his head to the boy he tilted it sideways trying to imagine it all. "No I guess lighting you up wouldn't make sense, but oh you could perhaps learn to throw some fire around or something right?" Shaking his head as he considered it he turned back to what he'd assumed quite obviously must be their teacher with excitement gleaming in his eyes.

With very little grace Quintus has managed to make it down without too much of a bump, but what he saw before him was quite a bit more surprising. If knowledge was the wealth of these tombs perhaps they'd stumbled upon a literal treasure trove. For a moment he didn't even notice the quiet shuffling as his eyes ran over the damaged scrolls and books. There had to be something in here, something that could teach them. Perhaps something unplanned, but that might not be a bad thing.

Of course as his eyes found something legible he also realized that some of them were in languages he simply didn't understand. It was only then that his attention was brought to the noise as the telepathic warning came through. He'd let his attention stray, and if he was alone that might have cost him everything.

Nodding as an unknown woman followed with a few a quiet words Quintus knew his own path had been decided as well. He had a feeling about her, when she touched the ground, and he'd be a fool to abandon that feeling when he was already past the point of no return. Placing a hand on his lightsaber he didn't pull it out or ignite it, but followed with quiet steps. If whatever was making that sound hadn't already heard them fall through the floor he wasn't afraid they'd hear him now. Then again, perhaps they'd woken it.

"I know that I'm late!" Ishani called out, racing across the sands. "But I got held up and I..."

She trailed off. No one was waiting for her at the entrance to the tomb. She wasn't just late; she had missed the train entirely.

"Aw, shucks!" she groaned, nearly throwing down her chosen item - a full-size bottle of one of her perfumes that simply refused to do what she wanted it to - in sheer disappointment and anger. She had been looking forward to this lesson, dreaming of it, and now she couldn't participate. Although if nobody was there... what was to stop her from going in anyway?

She hurried inside the tomb, keeping a pace somewhere between a sprint and a more cautious jog. She reached the three-point crossroads fairly quickly - or at least, what was left of it. The floor had been pulverized by Celeste Demici Celeste Demici , making it impossible to get across to either the left or right paths.

"Come on!" Ishani exclaimed, supporting herself against the passageway's walls as she peered down into the hole. It looked like something was down there... and she didn't really have much choice but to drop. Taking a step back, she sucked in a few deep, preparatory breaths, then jumped.

She tried to cushion her fall with the Force. It worked... although it also decided to drop her on her face. She landed in a heap flat on her stomach, arms splayed and palms slapping against the smooth tiled floor. She winced as she peeled herself up. At least the perfume bottle hadn't broken...

Looking around, she observed that she appeared to be in a very old library. Ishani liked libraries, especially old, vast ones where the sounds of footsteps echoed and the air was filled with the smell of old books, but she got a distinctly less-than-peaceful impression from this one. Quintus Varro , Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru , and Celeste Demici Celeste Demici had already moved on, heading for the source of the noise at the center of the chamber. For her part, Ishani did not want to go anywhere near something that was whispering ominously. She did not attempt to follow, at least not for now.

Instead, she explored the library, trying to be quiet, if not stealthy about it...
