"IMS Stryker to Sector Command".
"IMS Stryker to Sector Command".
Captain Charles sighed. This was probably the 3rd time his Communications Officer had tried to reestablish contact with Command that day. With only a vague idea of where they were the crew of the IMS Stryker were left to drift aimlessly though the Outer Rim.
"Enough of that, Gun Crews report to your stations for target practice. We will practice on those asteroids over there".
"Aye sir". replied his Gunnery Officer. "Gun Crews prepare to fire on my mark".
Charles watched the green turbolasers streak towards their targets then the subsequent explosions.
"As accurate as always". remarked Charles. "Give my praise to the Gun Crews, I will retire to my Quarters. XO you are in command".
Charles settled on to his rack perfectly made just like his at the academy. He didn't have to make it like that anymore but something about it made him feel better and besides he didn't have much else to do with his time anyways. He looked out the porthole into the endless abyss and the unfamiliar stars they had been plotting for weeks.
"I hope something exciting happens soon". muttered Charles before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
