Makai perked up a little. He was excited about the prospect of spending some time together. Not to mention with Grandma and Grandpa Kai, it had been a bit since he saw them. With Dad gone, he was pretty much living alone with Mom the next house over to keep an eye over him. It was nice, some one-on-one time without worrying about saying the wrong thing or doing something stupid.
"Yeah, that sounds fun. I can sleep in Ellie's room. We can watch some HoloVids til early morning.Eat candy til it hurts."
He wasn't sure what else to do, everything was still a bit awkward.
