GENERAL INFORMATION

Religion Name: Lords of Nihl
Religion Type: Philosophy
Influence: Minor
Influence Area: Merely a handful of individuals within Fortress Imperious on Concordia
Symbol: As of currently, there is no proper symbol for the Lords of Nihl
Description: A philosophy that masquerades itself as a “secret society” of sorts, the Lords of Nihl are an offshoot of the Way of the Dark practiced by the Sorcerers of Rhand in the Unknown Regions: though instead of embracing pure nihilism and wanton destruction, the “Lords of Nihl” refer to an acknowledgement of The Dark as a law of the Galaxy, and using your inner strengths to overcome this natural law. Strength is all, nothing else other than one's ability to dominate others through their own strengths (the definition of just what “strength” is, is exceptionally loose). But with this comes a necessity for callous disregard for most life, such as the Dark decrees.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

Founder: Lirka Ka
Membership: The current handful of members were directly approached by Lirka herself, generally after some philosophical debates after the state of the Galaxy and it’s constant flux of warfare.
Sacred: The Way of the Dark, even an offshoot like the Lords of Nihl, does not take kindly to finding objects and the like sacred. The closest thing the Lords have come to having anything “sacred” is just showmans ship of dark robes to hide away their identities: whenever such things are deemed appropriate at least.
Dogma: The Lords of Nihl follow many of the same tenants that are laid out within the Way of the Dark, that darkness and entropy are the ways of the universe: standing outside the force. The strong will naturally rule and consume the weak, and that through murderous devotion can one bring about their goals. For while much of the Way of the Dark ascribes to bringing about the end of the existence and succumbing to the Universe’s eventual end, the Lords of Nihl instead preach that one must ascend the laws of the universe that have been laid out by The Dark. In essence, the Lords of Nihl enforce that one must accept the decay of all things and then channel their inner strength and ruthlessness to rise above these natural laws.
Reputation: The Lords of Nihl forgo any real reputation, as they keep themselves as a “secret society”: mainly to avoid those peering eyes.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

All things die, eventually. That concept is the ultimate truth of the Dark, that shadowy truth worshiped by the Sorcerers of Rhand in their distant, desolate, world. And such teachings would eventually reach the eyes and ears of one Lirka Ka, the Grand Moff whom ruled from the bastardization and massacred world of
Moridinae, what was once known as Mandalore. A creature gaining in her years, Lirka had seen a great many battlefields, and witnessed the deaths of thousands. All while standing on the sidelines as Empires grew and wars were waged: the Way of the Dark resonated with her stronger than it ever should’ve, for it was the truth she had pedaled for so long given a tangible form. The Sephi embraced the Dark all but completely, but ultimately never one to submit, she began to twist and force the Way of the Dark to fit her own ideals and desires.

She dubbed it, “The Lords of Nihl”, those who would conquer the all-consuming truth of the Dark and rise above the rabble that infested the Galaxy like rodents. Lirka kept these ideas to herself for some time, before slowly eyeing those within the garrison forces of Fortress Imperious who had developed the blackest and most dour of hearts after committing the
Mandalorian Genocide. They too had come to understand the Dark, even to some extent. They were a small handful, barely under a dozen individuals she deemed worthy enough to take into her fold. To become the first of the “Lords of Nihl”. Though her ambitions wouldn’t end there, she knew many such souls existed within the bounds of Imperial space, and Lirka had all intentions of pulling them into her fold: for the Lords of Nihl, in truth, share a dual purpose: to both create beings to wage the wars of the Empire, who will ultimately fall into Lirka’s cruel and callous definition of “strength”, but also serve as her ultimate contingency plan in the event of the Empire’s demise.

With this in mind, the Lords of Nihl are a closely guarded secret: for whilst they are not, by ultimate definition, a heretical group operating within the Imperial fold; sometimes it’s just better to be a bit more safe than very very sorry.
