- Halo: (Depicted in submission image) A large ring-shaped chunk of some derelict starship from an ancient war. Re-purposed and refurbished by a local crime lord into a bustling club it is now home to crime lords and mercenaries alike. It is also home to several dozen "high end" shops and legitimate as well as illegitimate markets. Artificial gravity projectors throughout Halo keep the people tied to the ground and an intricate rail system crisscross the ship and the bustling skylanes between sections. It is a place that the poor lower class farmers and scavengers in the town tell their kids not to go and a place that is stared at in awe by the younger generations.
- Joe's Cantina: The local cantina. Its run by Joe, an ex-Red Legionnaire Super Commando and his family.
Description: Lokaium is a small rural farming town located on frontier of Concord Dawn. Nestled in the arid plains of Concord Dawn, Lokaium works as a farming settlement. Though the town itself is small, Halo, the large ring-shaped remains of an ancient dreadnought, looms overhead providing security to the the town. Despite their symbiotic relationship, many in Lokaium look down on the rich crime lords and mercenaries that call Halo their home and actually dislike them very much. However, they put up with it due to the lack of any actual sort of law and order out on the frontier.
History: Lokaium is difficult to describe. To say that it is just another rural town in the arid grasslands of Concord Dawn wouldn't be wrong, but it wouldn't quite fit. To call it a slum of Halo, the giant city-club that sprung up around it would also be incorrect.
Originally a prosperous farming settlement founded by the Frontiersmen, a now defunct unit of Concord Dawn's Journeyman Protectors, Lokaium became the primary food producer of several nearby settlements. However, sometime during the Dark Times of the Gulag Plague a powerful crime lord sprung up on the planet, secretly collecting credits he changed Lokaium nearly overnight. In a fierce strike the Crime Lord turned Warlord with his mercenary troops launched a surprise assault on Lokaium and the Protectors there, effectively putting the settlement under his rule.
The Warlord monopolized the food production, nearly starving Lokaium and exploiting the other nearby settlements that had relied on the town for their food. Over the years he built up his fortune and repurposed a nearby derelict ship portion as his castle. Dubbed Halo by the locals it became a bustling city of villainy and scum. Eventually the Warlord was put down by someone from within, a mysterious old mercenary who was rumored to use the Force. She would eventually leave the planet, leaving the town to its own devices, but the damage had been done.
The other nearby settlements had resorted to farming their own food and as a result nobody would purchase the food produced in Lokaium for even half of what they had sold it even before the Warlord. The town stayed in poverty until around 820 ABY when a young Robin Hood-like woman took over Halo and began redistributing the wealth of the fat crime lords and frugal mercenaries that called Halo home. The town recovered a little and the woman faded into obscurity though was never forgotten.
Now Lokaium holds a symbiotic relationship with Halo. The mercs and crime lords offer protection and Lokaium works and produces food for them. This proved astronomically fortuitous for the people of Lokaim during the Dark Harvest event when the dead began to rise. The Mercs took to the streets, keeping most of the town safe from the hideous creations.
Since then the town has done relatively well for itself, though it is still among the poorest settlements on the plains.
Intent: The Mandalorian faction decided to take a more story and lore oriented approach to their roleplays to entice writers to participate more. This submission is an attempt to flesh out the lore of the planets the Faction Admins saw as "Core Mandalorian Worlds" and thus contribute to the lore-based roleplay we are trying to encourage.
