OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: As a former writer of The Oaken Dawn, I wish to create a similar Medieval sith-like home world for this character to have connection with (training, role play some upcoming planned stories with other writers). This world will justify my Alderaani bloodline that is the brother of [member="Marina DeVoe"] . This character Jerrid Syn will have been been secretly trained as sith-like. My story arc will indicate that the DeVoe male bloodline, since the destruction of Alderaan 850 ago during Palpatine's reign, have been taken in by House Zarkan on Lohr and trained throughout the generations following the destruction of ancestral Alderaan. This story will be told in RPs as narratives.

  • Region: Deep Core
  • System Name: Lohss
  • System Features: 1 sun (no specific name), 1 planet (Lohr) with 1 moon (Lilly of the Night), no other planets, 1 important asteroid belt (Scarr). Lohr has 364 orbital days with a 24 hr rotation. Her moon (Lillly of the Night has a 28 day orbit and characteristics and composition of a lifeless moon, lacking any atmosphere).
  • Coordinates: T-27 the Galaxy Map
  • Major Imports: N/A
  • Major Exports: N/A
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Standard
  • Climate: Temperate
  • Primary Terrain: 2 major, 1 minor continent and islands.Grassland, Mountains, Deserts, Oceans, Lakes, Swamps, Tundras, Forests, Fiords, Polar ice caps.

  • Major Locations: Medieval countrysides. Main locations and centers are around keeps and castles. There is one major castle belonging to a High Lord of a Providence or several Providences. That providence will have lower lords and thus other smaller castles, keeps and outposts depending on the wealth and influence in that Providence. One main character castle will be Lord Zarkan's castle and Providences. As other writers and lords are created, they too will have Providences and castles.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: Humans only
  • Immigrated Species: N/A
  • Population: Sparsely Populated
  • Demographics: No cities but settlements, towns and villages, that are mostly grouped around the Lordship castles and keeps in the Providences. Main food source is agriculture, that also include live stocks (not ranches but basic common livestock) assortment to balance out farms and settlements. Beast of burden are used for farming and transportation. This limits residents within the protection of their lord to overall short distances that can take days, weeks. There is coin, but most of the local commoner exchange is by barter. The Lords oversee their commoners in a just manner and many of these lords are loved by this people. But there are Providences that are ruled by the iron hand of their lords. Variants of good to hard ruling lords will give diversity in the stories and reasons for rebellions and skirmishes between some Providences. Not all Providences are ruled by sith lords. Again this gives rise to diversity and good storytelling.
  • Primary Languages: Galactic old Standard (not to be overly done, but to give impression that it is not modern galactic standard).
Culture: Medieval.
Lohr has 2 classes, the ruling and the subjects. The ruling class consists of High Lords, to knights that have various titles depending on their demographics. Example; High Lords can be Lords, Khans (open range clans), Chiefs (islanders) Dukes, Marquis, Counts, Barons, Earls, Knight, etc...
Commoners are farmers, craftsmen, masons, thatchers, painters (including artists), local merchants, foot soldiers (below Knight's title), inn keepers, stable keepers...all manner of people performing a labor to barter in making a living.
Most common laborer is one who works in the fields toiling alongside beast of burdens or mine for ores, such as cortosis, iron, and specious metals under the lordship. Then there are herders/tenders of domestic cattle, sheep, foul, and pig like animals. Names of these domestic animals will be described and named in stories.
Then come the builders that comprise of thatchers, masons, carpenters and glazers (glass makers for windows) etc...
The craftsmen are iron-smiths, furniture makers, cobblers, tailors, earthen craftsmen...etc.
The foot soldiers, archers, including field cooks are also commoners. So are their captains and low ranking military field leaders. Some lower poor knights who lost lands along their borders would be considered among the lower class until they acquire new deeds from the Higher Lords...otherwise, they remain poor.
Any given village or town is under the protection of the High lord and all must abide by that lord's rule of the land. These laws vary from province to province, but are fundamentally similar. Obey the common laws that forbids speaking against one's lord, forbids stealing from the lord and peers. Stealing from peers, local magistrate handles it,. Stealing from lords, the lord himself decrees the punishment which is upmost severe.
Tribute from all commoners not under the direct service of the lord and knights (soldiers and archers and field hands to them) must pay tribute to the lord. This is because the lord of the providence owns it all. Depending on the providence or tribe, tributes could be as high as 50% of the harvests and gains of the town folk. It could also be as low as 10% in some Providences. Knights under the lord pay no tribute but must serve their lord until the lord releases them (retires or promotes them) by parsleling out some of his land for them to establish their own community. That community then pays tribute and the lord decides how much of that tribute can the knight keep for his own house.
Coinage is rare, but frequently used among the High Lords and many knights who've established their own villages/towns. Most of all other exchanges is by barter. Tribute to lords and knights can be paid in coin if there is coin, otherwise it is by goods or services. Goods primarily go to maintain the fortification and the armies. Excess is exchanged with other Providences, either for other goods or coinage.
Value of coins is based on metals that are mined and weighed, like cortosis, gold, silver, iron and others. The lord can have his own foundry to make coins if the metals in the form of ore is bought or acquired through tribute. Only the lord can make coin. If other than a lord makes coin, it is punishable by death. Ore for coin can be mined by permission of the lord only for it is his land and his ore. Illegal mining is punishable by death.
Marriage or acquiring a concubine among lords can come about for several reasons with the primary having to sire an heir...a male heir. Daughters of lords are ladies and they can be married off to gain favor with bordering Providences or daughters can marry out of love, that have been approved by the lord father first. This is common practice, but not the entire scope of marriages. Role plays will expand on this and some will be quite modern, while some barbaric.

Religion: Major religion is a variant of a common belief that the world was created by the one Creator, whom is named Berkana. Berkana is the mother (deity) of all things, to the commoners of Lohr. Religion and it's influence will be covered in role plays.

GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Feudal. No one king lures all. Not all bordering Providences live peacefully.
  • Affiliation: N/A
  • Wealth: Low (Medieval)
  • Stability: High, as there are treaties between borders.Any disputes are skirmishes between border knights. Any major conflicts are overseen by what has been established long ago as the High Council. All Clan leaders, High Lords including representatives or actual leaders of the said conflict debate the said claims of both or the warring parties to come to a settlement. In the meantime, before or during debates, any conflicts are weighed and measured, should judgement by the High Council call for retributions.Wars may gain lands and extend borders, but they come at a great cost should the High Council decree reprimands should be met by the winning party. If party disavows the High Council's decree and judgement, the offending Providence may find that they will be met with swift and just coalition attack as decreed by the High Council. Major issues that may cause unrest is water rights, droughts, floods, or lost crops and herds brought on by blight and disease. For the most part, if not the majority, commoners are peaceful, aside from individual small squabbles within the villages, towns, settlements. These disputes are handled by the local magistrates, lower lords, sheriffs, constables..etc, as per providence or Clan hierarchy. Is it dangerous for travelers to visit Lohrs as the system still remains and chooses to remain obscure. Most of the Highest lords are sith like in the knowledge of the force. All aspect is known to them..dark/light. Lohr has planetary rings which emit radioactivity, having the system seem uninhabitable. But this is only as sensed from space, for Lohs has a liquid ion core that emits strong magnetic fields that shield it's surface and atmosphere of said radiation from it's belts and projects it off world. This makes the planet seem inhospitable. But in ancient history, the planet was once full tech for the times. As stories reveal it's history, it will expose that a group of sith actually took over the system and created the belts and thus the false signature of an inhospitable planet. This is their world and they reshaped the society through hundreds of thousands of year to their desire..a medieval world. These Highest lords come and go as they please for they are the only ones who have access to star-ships. These sith also put away their light-sabers and take up steel. With steel they train on Lohr. And these High Lords meld in with other common lords for they hide their true nature. But these sith have developed a love for their commoners. This is their world, that they hold dear and any foreigners are not welcomed, unless they are invited. This is how Jerrid DeVoe (Jerrid Syn), son of Duke Kyle DeVoehas come to be on Lohr.History tells of an Alderaani, who had escaped (survived) the Genocide of his people and world of Alderaan who had been picked up by a sith lord of Lohr (Seth Zarkan) and provided sanctuary to this DeVoe descendant. The sith Lord felt the pain and anger of this DeVoe but was impressed in the man's obstinate towardseeking vengeance. The sith, Lord Zarkan then took him as his apprentice and trained him as one of his own. This was 850 years ago and since then, every male sons of DeVoe bloodline have returned to Lohr and trained by the descendants sith of Seth Zarkan in the Providence of Castal Zarkan.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Feudal society ruled by the Provincial Lord, Clan Leader, or Chieftain depending on location.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

  • Military: Medeival....Steel blades, lances, horses and catapults. Sailing ships of wood.
  • Technology: Medieval, steel, forged metals. No gunpowder. Beast of burden is the common means of transportation. Only Sith Lords have star-ship technology and means of leaving the planet. But it is kept low key and such tech is kept from the commoners and lower lords. This is accomplished by means of stealth technology by the sith lords. Most crafts are less than 50 meter corvette class in size. These sith lords regularly come to and from Lohr, as they have other galactic interests and holdings off world. What bonds these sith lords together is their order The Order of Shor. More on that order in tales.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Lohr being in a system deep in the center of the galaxy is quite a planet veiled with obscurity. It is inhabited by humans only and has remained unexplored as it is seen inhospitable by passing star-ships, or exploration vessels. This is due to the high radiation rings around the planet, giving sensor readings the impression the planet itself radiates radioactivity. In a sense it does, as it's own magnetic field which protects it from the ring's radiation, also throw out that same radiation into space. No radiation gets through the magnetic field of the planet down to the surface as the fields repel it outward into space.
Lohr has a heavy molten liquid iron core that creates this strong magnetic fields (stronger than standard by 1.7X which act as a shield and projector to this radiation belt. As a result, this system which is located in the deep core has remained unexplored as any ship sensor see it as radiation being emitted from planet' atmosphere. As thus, it is deemed uninhabitable and too radioactive to attempt landings for any length of time.
These rings were actually man-made by the High Lords on Lohr in the first Millennia of their takeover. These force users are more sith like than light siders, as they have knowledge in all the aspect of the force. These siths who had once found Lohr over a 100,000 years ago, have come to love their home world keeping it in a medieval setting, which they had created out of a world that knew nothing but to wage war upon itself with tech weapons of the time. Since old recorded history was lost to the commoners by the sith lords systematic erradication of the system's older history, Lohr has remained frozen in medieval times for over a hundred thousand years.

Planet's changed history:
The planet was discovered by a sith along with his apprentice 120,000 years ago. The planet was originally in the infancy of star-ship technology and tech of the time. But great wars throughout it's many squabbling nations kept the system in unrest and constant conflicts. It is when the sith Master Darth Umbahr and his apprentice, who had happened on this core world, and devised a plan to take control of it. They did it byway of manipulating the warring governments into fulling an all out global war which nearly destroyed all major cities and left all military spent. The population was almost to the brink of extinction, as all means of producing power and manufacturing had been destroyed in this world war.
It was then, that Darth Umbahr along with his apprentice Ebus Zarkan systematically took over one major remnants of government after another, creating one United nation that oversaw all the nations. Darth Umbahr took control of any surviving remnants of military hardware and combining it with his own to enforce the new United nations laws and decrees.
This stabilized the planet, as it were too spent to resist and continue waging wars, for there was no means for the planet populations to do so. Darth Umbahr seen this and used it to his advantage in the recovery years following the world war, denying the individual nations to once again redevelop as they once were. As the decades wore down the last remnants of industry, for Darth Umbahr was in his plan to regress the planet back to a stone age, he did so by having the United nations be the only superpower to hold military.
And in the last decade before darth Umbahr fell to the blade of his apprentice Ebus Zarkan, the system had regressed to a Feudal society under the watch of the United Nations.
But the now new Lord Darth Zarkan had further plans for this ripe world. It were to revert back to true Medieval society. But it could not really be achieved, not with the remnants of the old cities laying in ruins.
Darth Zarkan then decreed that all fallen cities be razed to the ground. By this time, he had taken on a concubine, a common woman of the system to bear him children. Out of three, one was a male (Surik) and Darth Zarkan took it upon himself to train his son as his apprentice. Then what followed through the years, was all towns, and all remaining working and non-working infrastructure were to be razed, and all debris to be barged to the bottom of the sea, as new settlements were built upon these clearings. But these settlements were to be of only stone and wood.
The manufacturing of any steel or metals were limited to small manned forges that were only to produce simple tools in the manual construction of stone houses and castles for the trusted underlorlds of Darth Zarkan. His under-lords became overlords of the people throughout the nations, which were now called Providences. This was accomplished, for Darth Zarkan had total control of the military by which he kept up to galactic standards. His control, like that of his slain master Darth Umbahr of the United Nations, had total supremacy.
There certainly were many rebellions and defiance of the United nation's rule over the nations that later were systematically morphed into Providences. But those early rebellions were swiftly dealt with and all involved, including family members were executed. These revolts became fewer and fewer through the years and decades with the succession of Darth Surik Zarkan following the death of his father Darth Ebus Zarkan.
As the progressing Zarkan generations begat Darth Thull Zarkan, son of Darth Surik Zarkan, who then begat Darth Makest Zarkan and all of the one son following his father's footsteps, the sith bloodline of Zarkan remained strong with the force. But in the hundred thousand years of infusing the common blood of the people through wives and concubines, the love for the planet which took on the name Lohr sometime between Darth Surik Zarkan and his heir Darth Makest, became infused in the Zarkan blood. This world was theirs by bloodline now and they had to find the means of shielding it from the emerging and expanding galaxy of explores and force users.
It was then that the means of accomplishing that became a reality.
The Zarkans still held a mighty and fully technological military and Navy (space). They devised a means of constructing a ring of debris...of asteroids, that were towed into high orbit and through nuclear infusions made the belts radioactive. At first it were just a single belt to see if the planet's magnetic field would repel the radiation. And it did. Soon following the initial test and success, the belts..the planet's rings were enlarged and widened to what they appear to be this day still.
The rings (belts) around the planet emit high radiation, while the magnetic field of the planet repels the radiation outward away from the surface. This gives the impression the planet is inhospitable to life (see image 2, as it is what ship sensors see).
Through the 100 thousand years after the entire planet was wiped clean of the old wars and memory of it's beginnings (all former cities and structures were razed and buried at sea), a new religion was slowly and methodically introduced by the Zarkans, to eventually infuse it planet wide, through thousands of years. It was one that kept the populace in one frame of mind and that was purity and simplistic living.
In the history of the system (120,000 years), since it's discovery, take-over and in making it to what it is today...a medieval world, it has remained under the guidance and watch of House Zarkan and of sith's who've been chosen through the Millennia to come and make home on Lohr with the sole purpose of keeping the system and populace in a pure simplistic lifestyle resembling a medieval world. And only these sith lords on Lohr have star-ship technology that are for the most part off world and only use shuttles to move to and from the system, using stealth technology.
And what once were seen in the heavens among the stars that were the Zarkan's navy, it has long been moved away from the system, elsewhere. The system Lohr is hidden within the core, as it appears to be an inhospitable and highly radioactive planet for over 100 Millennia, and is avoided and passed by till this day.

House Zarkan has for the past 850 years taken a male heir of House DeVoe to be trained in what is now secretly called The Order of Shor.

Over all nice looking submission. Couple things we need to iron out.

First I'm going to need you to go through and remove all references to 'Earth' and things of that nature (English should be basic, for instance).

Second I'm going to need more than a single sentence on the culture. In this case 'medieval' isn't really a great indicator, since there are loads of medieval cultures with pretty dramatic differences. Please expand this section.

No raven have I yet to deploy, m'lady... for war hast been wagged upon my lands.

I can only ask thee to give this knight quarter, if only for two more days... There is a thirst for more of thy countrymen's blood to spill upon my good earth.
Then, I shalt send a raven with said message, that this task of Lohr's complete.
If thou art in haste and lack patience, then dismiss this sub. I shalt not hold a cold heart against thee.

Nay m'lady, not for this...certainly not for this.

Gah!....some sly fox-like sith hast devoured all my ravens! Curse I it's soul to Damnation!!!

*composes his self and approaches the lady judge @Irajha Ven *

M'lady, I come before thee with what I believe is the finished documentation of my proposal.
Tis ready for thee to lay thy judgement over it. *bows his head in respect...and in submission for now*
