SHEESH I thought I was tall!
Cosmic
Temple
Forged during the late Clone Wars and rebuilt across centuries,
Conservator is not simply a lightsaber — it is a living record of its wielder's purpose.
The hilt is long — nearly the length of Darth Maul’s double-blade handle — designed for the powerful, two-handed techniques of a physical Jedi like Vanagor. Built for
control,
reach, and
sheer stopping force, its weight in hand is deceptive — balanced with such precision that it feels like an extension of the body rather than a tool.
The hilt, like its Master, bears its scars proudly.
- Etched across the durasteel alloy shell are intricate carvings — not ornamental, but ceremonial — ancient Jedi text, High Galactic runes, and tribal Wroshyr sigils honoring the Wookiees who once welcomed him into their clan.
- Faint fracture lines run along the chassis, sealed and reinforced with forged phrik bands. They speak of past battles, explosions survived, drops from orbit, and encounters with darkness that would have shattered a lesser saber.
At the emitter end, the metal is stained slightly darker — scorched from the sheer power that pulses within.
The blade ignites with a
resonant hum, deeper and heavier than most Jedi sabers — like thunder echoing through stone. Its
core glows a rich, golden hue, symbolizing
defense, honor, and enlightenment — a beacon of protection.
But dancing along its edge is something rare: a pale, icy-blue outline —
the “Permafrost” effect — a constant, barely-contained
crackle of raw kinetic energy, the result of twin crystals in perfect, volatile harmony.
- Heart of the Guardian
Recovered from a forgotten temple world during Vanagor’s time as a Wayseeker, this rare kyber crystal shifts and reflects golden light. Said to enhance attunement with the Living Force, it strengthens one’s resolve and clarity during moral conflict. In Vanagor’s hands, it fuels more than just his blade — it fuels his purpose.
- Permafrost Crystal
A crystalline remnant of Vanagor’s long sleep beneath the glaciers of Rhen Var, this unique kyber variant was unearthed when he was pulled from the ice. It burns not with heat, but with ancient cold — whispering of stillness, resilience, and the silent weight of time. It causes the saber’s edges to crackle and flicker with frozen, unstable arcs — beautiful and dangerous, like lightning in a snowstorm.
Over time,
Conservator has developed a reputation of its own.
To foes, it is
the last light they see before justice falls.
To those it protects, it is a
pillar — unwavering and luminous.
Some claim the blade reacts on its own in moments of danger — flaring brighter, shifting in tone when its Master’s resolve deepens. Others say it “growls” when near betrayal, or that it dims gently when Caltin mourns.
Its
name —
Conservator — was not given lightly. It represents what Vanagor believes the Jedi were always meant to be:
Not conquerors. Not crusaders. Not martyrs.
But guardians.
Of life. Of memory. Of balance.
If she looked at the hilt and could read it, she would see the inscription in High Galactic Script:
“When others fall, I remain.”
“When memory fades, I remember.”
“When justice breaks, I hold the line.”
