Kat'Lariah Syphex

Don't. Even. Think about it.
Kat saw three men walk into a room and only two run out, quite terrified for their lives. Kark it...safeest place is the most dangerous place... she thought to herself. Walking into the room she saw many people crowded into the small area, but only one on one of the three beds. A dead man lay on the floor. "Well then..." she looked at the red head (@Lark) on the bed, "This your handy work?"

Lark

Saint of the Damned
Lark turned and studied the newcomer. She carried herself differently from most of the other inhabitants of the vessel, and she wasn't hostile, not like those other thugs had been, as least not as far as he could tell. He was ready to pounce at any moment, but you could hardly tell by looking at him. He lounged on the bed, legs crossed, hands held calmly on his lap. He was wearing a nice white shirt underneath a black jacket, which now had a bit of red on it's shoulder. He didn't look like someone who would do this sort of thing.

"It is indeed," he said kindly, in response to the woman's question. He swore he could hear screaming somewhere nearby, perhaps killing wasn't exactly unheard of in a ship like this. With so many people and a mercenary-like crew, it was likely a common occurrence.

Lark was about to invite her in, but the screaming wouldn't stop. He rose from the bed, the mass of people in the room parted to let him through. He walked past the newcomer, and looked out over the balcony. More people were screaming, and some were running past as though their lives were seriously endangered. He looked up, and white worms emerged from the cracks within the ceiling, some bigger than others. A massive worm tore through the floor below him, devouring the inhabitants that were unlucky enough the reside in a room below. "How unexpected," he said quietly.

They had hibernated long enough, awoken by the call of Mnggal-Mnggal to once more feed on the living. Their giant meaty bulks tore through the hulls of the ship. Killing, maiming, eating. A hunger that seemed insatiable. Those that were lucky enough to become one with these monstrous creatures would be digested over a thousand years, as their conscious was slowly assimilated into the beast's own. At seeing a man use the force a million tortured minds would assault his own with pleas for mercy, for death."SAVE US JEDI!" "FREE US!" To no avail. For once the beast had you within its gullet, you were already lost and your mind was already its. The worms circled the vessel in a killing frenzy. Striking seemingly at random with no real intentions.

The S.S. Broken Bow shook as unseen assailants fired on her. Fires started on multiple levels and the hull became breached in multiple sectors. Families ran out of their small cramped rooms in a terrible panic. They pushed, kicked, shoved anything to escape the inferno that begun to envelop the lower decks. While on other levels the entire place was deathly quiet as the vastness of space seeped in through the breach of the hulls. Anyone who tried to take a breath in the void of space soon found their lungs collapsed and blood seeping out of every orfice on their body, but most just silently drifted away as they froze to death in utter silence.

The Pirates drew ever closer. Their ragged fleet of ancient vessels, taken from the junk ring that surrounded Mugg Fallow, would encompass the Refugee ship. They began to fire on her, probing for any hidden weapons. After observing the damage they had caused, multiple fires and breaches, they deemed the vessel still safe to board. Trandoshan's rushed to their modified boarding pods and prepped for what most certainly would be an easy victory. The Chieftans activated the launch sequence and dozens of pods fired towards the refugee ship.

Kat followed the redheaded young man and peered over the balcony below. She watched as a gigantic worm fell from the ceiling, crushing some, and then beginning to feast on other. She recoiled from the bars a little, "That..." she pointed at the thing below, he face contorted in disgust, "Is gross..." Suddenly the vessel shook as a loud explosion filled their ears and fires broke out on deck. Cursing she looked around and assessed the situation...which was pretty obvious.

"Introductions later!" the woman drew her blaster pistol, chose a direction, and began to walk.

Razel inhumanly quickly leaped away from one of the breaches, the explosion still charring his foot slightly. He notices how horrible it is to be on this first floor, begins surging with electricity, and (robotically, not using his normal voice to save air) offers,

"Grab on now, or find your own way out!"

He'd give the others a few seconds to react, before dashing away swiftly. He noticed a red-headed man and a woman who also had colorful hair. The latter was noticeably holding a blaster. Smart people. He ran to those that he saw, maybe they were prepared. Any who'd grabbed on to him and managed to hold would not feel much more than a pulsing, and an occasional static shock (the type children play around with).

The situation was getting worse. White worms where everywhere and the ship was being attacked. Riimauru didn't knew what to do, he knew that he need to leave that place but the explosion and the creepy worms was to much to think at the same time. The Chiss would the need the help of the others if he wanted to get somewhere. The cyborg guy had his own tricks find his way out and he was kind enough to lend a hand to the others.
"Count me in, Robot man." Said Riimaurus as he grabbed on the cyborg.

As the pods slammed against the ships, Xiarr noticed a catwalk above his current position. It would be certain suicide to even attempt getting to it, but it was his only hope. Xiarr jumped onto a large storage crate, his jump being accelerated by the force. The catwalk was a long leap away, but there were no other platforms. Xiarr then leaped into the air, using all of his power to land on the catwalk. Xiarr was able to grab one of the edges of the catwalk just in time. He climbed up and noticed two Trandoshans with their backs turned. As soon as he got on the catwalk the two Trandoshans laughed, thinking Xiarr was no match for their might. Xiarr quickly grabbed his DL-18 out of his pocket, he shot the two in tchest and pushed them off the edge with the force. He ran as fast as he could, and he could see the chaos going on. The worms were merciless and were also attacking the Trandoshans, he saw multiple people, some he recognized from earlier, others he had never seen before. Xiarr kept on running, searching for an escape pod or anything that could be used to the leave the ship.

Lark

Saint of the Damned
Lark had considered immediately ditching the woman, but upon seeing that she had a blaster, it would probably be wiser to stay near her. Especially when Trandoshan pirates boarded the vessel. Were they aware of the worms? It didn't matter to Lark. He bolted around, dodging blaster fire, he only had his knife, but that was enough for him to be a threat. He ran out from behind cover, vaulted off of a couple boxes, and kicked a pirate hard in the head. The pirate's head snapped back, and he toppled over the balcony. He felt another approaching him from behind, and he twisted around quickly, dodging a strike that had been aimed towards the back of his head. He ducked and plunged his knife underneath the pirate's chin, and the tip of his knife protruded from his skull. The pirate slumped over, dead. Lark took his blaster and quickly rejoined the woman from before, a few others had joined her in an attempt to escape.

Ilium was tired of not being able to do anything. He pulled himself up onto a table near and assessed the situation. The worms were still running rampant and nothing seemed to be stopping them. The Shars turned towards his 'friends'.

"What are we going to do about this?"

Kat fired her blaster at a couple trandoshans taking cover behind a wall, blaster bolts pinging off the otherside. Peeking around she fired two bolts, one striking a pirate in the forehead, nother grazing the shoulder of a second. Suddenly a...she didn't know exactly what it was, it moved too quickly, rushed at her. She raised her blaster preparinng to fire at it.

Riimaurus didn't knew exactly what happened after he held on the cyborg, he felt a pulsing and static and the next thing he knew was that he was in front of a blaster.
"WOW, WOW, WOW!!" He said putting his hands up with a scared look on his face. The person behind the blaster was a redhead female and by the look her eyes he should be thankful that she didn't blasted them. "We're not the white worms and we mean no harm. So can you just not kill us? After all, you may be able to kill me but i'm pretty sure that you will no be able to kill my robot friend here in time." Advised the Chiss. A redhead guy showed with a even scarier look, his hands were dirty with trandoshan blood and he held a blaster on his hands. "Hey! Can you tell your friend here that we are not pirates? And that we have a lot a things to deal right now like meat-eaters worms and reptile pirates." Riimaurus tried to explain with a nervous grin in his face.

The blurring mass suddenly stopped before her, a cyborg and a blustering Chiss. Kat took one more moment to assess them and then lowered her blaster. The Chiss wasn't wrong. The giant larvae and reptilian pirates were a bit more of a pressing matter, "You guys got any weapons?" she asked.

Razel knew not of the chiss, but he made a head motion towards his vibrosword,

"I've no blasters, but I do have this."

He looks behind him momentarily, noticing a trandoshan.

"Watch out Chiss!"

But before the trandoshan can make any aggressive move, a worm begins grappling with them. Razel takes the opportunity, and stabs his blade through the trandoshan's neck, then raising his blade quickly to take down the worm. It squirms, then falls limp.

"This isn't the best place to chat."

As the cyborg quickly dispatched the Trandoshan and the worm with his blade, Kat nodded in approval. She'd seen enough blades in use to know in the right hands they were as deadly as any other blaster.

"Well in case you hadn't noticed, this whole ship has become a war zone. We need to get to some escape pods. Or clear these decks."

Kat didn't see very many other options...aside from allowing the pirates to capture them, or getting eaten by a giant worm...neither of those seemed very appealing to her.

Ilium realized the danger just as [member="Kat'Lariah Syphex"] had. He too needed a way to get out, but someone would have to carry him, a burden that not many wanted to deal with. This is what Ilium hated most about being a Shard. You can be thrown about anywhere without and means of stopping yourself. Unless you were Force Sensitive, which Ilium was. The little Shard figured he could try and communicate with Syphex to see if she could help him escape the ship. After all he too was a refugee. He reaches out to her with the Force.

"Kat'Lariah, I need your help to get off this ship. You are just as desperate as I to find shelter away from this war zone. I know I'm a burden, but think about how you'd feel if you were me. I'm an oppressed species, but I'm here to achieve greater things. If we're on this ship any longer though those dreams are as good as gone. Will you please help me?"

Riimaurus breath sigh of relief as the redhead girl put her blaster down. The Chiss showed his blaster to her when she asked if they got any weapon, but their little chitchat were interrupted by Razel when he announced the approach of a pirate. But that wasn't the lucky day of that pirate since a worm grappled on him and the cyborg finished the job slicing both the pirate and the worm.

Kat remembered that they all need to get away from that ship and suggested that they need to get to the escape pod. "Well, i don't know if this ship has any functioning escape pod. I doubt if something actually works here but thankfully we could use our reptiles friends here as a way out." Suggested the Chiss. "So let's find the pods. If the ship doesn't have one or not we will find out. If it has great but if it hasn't we take the pirates' pods." Said Riimaurus with a much more peaceful expression than is expected in these kind of situation. Riimaurus didn't wait the reaction of the others because they didn't have that much time and took his pistol blaster in hand and then left to find the pods expecting the others to follow.

Kat heard a voice in her head beg for assistance. Bewildered she had no clue where it had come from...and yet she did. She saw a...a stone? a gem? something nearby. She stooped down and picked it up, examining it for a few moments. The Chiss's response caught her attention again and she placed the gem in her pocket. "We could always try to take one of the pirates' crafts."

(OOC: [member="Ilium"], just so you know Kat is Force Sensitive although she doesn't know it. She doesn't know how to communicate so maybe teach her or something?)

(OOC: Yeah I can do that. )

Ilium sensed something about [member="Kat'Lariah Syphex"] , but he couldn't put his 'finger' on it. He was happy that she knew about the Pirates' ships. Why didn't he think of that? The Shard now appreciated the woman more, he could trust her. Escaping the ship would prove vital in there survival. Then maybe they'd go their own ways; maybe they'd have a long lasting friendship and go on adventure together. Either way, he wanted to get off as fast as possible. He spoke to her again.

"Great thinking, I can't believe I never thought of it! You'd have to put my in a pouch though, in case we get into trouble. Doing that would free your hands letting you be able to defend us. I'll do what I can, but I doesn't amount to much. I'm ready to leave whenever you are, but I suggest we discuss a plan first. We should meet at the table over there."

There was an open table not far from where they were. They could use this to meet, and possibly recruit others to leave with them.

Causstik watched the events unfold before him aboard his vessel The Great Hunt. The assault was taking to long and the boarding crew had ran into far to many complications. Causstik raised the raid leader on his holocom.

"Secure the bridge, then broadcast this message. All combatants are to lay down their arms or I will blow that rusted piece of junk into smithereens," Causstik hissed in annoyance. He waved his hand and the holoscreen went blank. He turned to face his crew "Ready the main cannons. Anyone leaves that boat without my say so. Kill them,"

Aboard S.S. BROKEN BOW

The raid leader received Causstiks message and readied his own reply. "Sir, Wolf worms have infested this khark. Further boarding is not recommended. we will fly to the planet surface and escort the slaves from their,"

A squad of Trandoshans raced to the bridge of the ship. They accessed the intercom system and broadcasted Causstiks message. Then they plotted a course for a small patch of dessert just outside the city. The Raid leader rallied his forces in the cargo hold. "I want squads on every level with explosives. When we land, we'll blow this worm infested joint. If you find any stray slaves bring them here,"

Lark

Saint of the Damned
Lark reluctantly followed the new beings that fought alongside him to escape. He disliked working in groups, he had always preferred handling situations in his own way. But in moments like this, more numbers would be more beneficial than flying solo. The blaster he had taken from the pirate was small, and he could fire it in one hand and fend off any who got a bit to close to him with his knife. At least the people with him were well equipped. As far as he could tell everyone had a weapon, and one of them had a blade that Lark could barely see when swung. Luckily the pirates didn't seem very bright, as far as Lark could tell they were the only group managing to resist their barrage.

A pair of pirates bolted around a corner, and immediately Lark downed one with a shot to the head. The other aimed his gun, but Lark let out a kick that knocked it out of his hands. Another white worm charged them, knocking them to the ground. Lark rose quickly, and before the pirate could rise, Lark got close to him and primed his grenade. The worn began devouring him, and Lark pushed the beast off the balcony, it blew to pieces as it descended.

Lark smiled peacefully, and the others continued to fight. Lark turned to help them, he might not be happy at having to work with them, but he'd have a better chance of escaping if they were alive. He aimed his-

An unbearable ringing sounded in his ears, and Lark clutched his head in pain. He looked around, hand almost sticking to his face, which was covered in the blood of pirates. Lark was aware of his force sensitivity, but sometimes whenever the Force was present around Lark, it would give him painful migraines. Lark tried to find the source of the Force, but his vision had become hazy. Was that a crystal? And the red-headed girl, it almost looked like she felt it too, although she wasn't in pain.

The wave of pain subsided, even when the Force continued to be used the discomfort typically subsided after only a few moments. Sometimes Lark would experience episodes like this, and sometimes the Force wouldn't bother him in the slightest. But he could always feel it. He needed to learn to master it. Lark clutched a balcony rail, steadying himself before he rejoined the escape attempt.
