Mech-Deru: Lira has a degree in several facets of starship design and construction as well as a minor in technological theory. This degree is enhanced by her study in the Jedi Art known as Mechu-Deru. She is capable of effecting and controlling machines around her, mapping their guided wires with simple nudges of the force and controlling them to some extent. Droids and other sentient machines are more difficult as Lira is far from mastering this skill, but as she gets older and more experienced she is slowly finding that Machines are becoming easier to control, influence, and map.
Old Blood: Though her family has lived on Prakith since before the Gulag Plague, the progenitors of her blood line were Echani. This warrior blood still runs through Lira in a strong way. She is a fighter, and has been since a young age. She loves to brawl and get into messy situations and has been expelled from school more than once for her fiery attitude. She is now aware of this Echani heritage and has somewhat begun to embrace it, finding out more about her people and learning the arts of their combat.
Political Mind: Along with her intuitive knowledge of mechanics, Lira also seems to have a knack for politics. He has followed the shifting and changing climates of the Prakith Government ever since she was a young child, and she has heartily opposed the Sith ever since they came out in the open on her homeworld. She has taken part in many peaceful protests and demonstrations which have of course labeled her as a “trouble maker”. This political single mindedness has also caused her to clash with many people over the smallest things, making her somewhat disliked by her peers.
Busted Shoulder: While on an adventure with several dozen other padawans on Korriban, Lira managed to fall and hurt herself on the planets surface. THis caused an injury in one of her shoulders which prevents a full range of motion from that arm, she being unable to lift that arm above her head. This of course provides difficult in combat, and limit exactly what Lira can do while in a fight.
Diminutive: Unfortunately for Lira, she is a tiny girl. Weighing only a smidgen above one hundred Pounds and standing at a paltry five foot five inches Lira is tiny. Though her diminutive form has so far never held her back it will become very apparent to her in the future that she simply cannot match the physical strength of greater beings. In a galaxy filled with massive Aliens, powerful Sith Lords, and genetically enhanced soldiers, her tiny size will prove to be an interesting problem to overcome.
Lira looks similarly to many young women her age. She has long pale blonde hair, her eyes are bright green, and her skin is as soft as a bunnies fur.
When compared to other species of the galaxy it is quite clear that Lira is not baseline Human, and is in fact distantly related to the Echani. Her high cheekbones and her Pale Blonde hair closely resemble those of the Echani. However due to her family living on Prakith for the past four centuries these traits have been very nearly bred out of her genes, with Lira being the first in several generations to have the bright White Hair and fair skin of the Echani.
Though she has been called beautiful by some suitors Lira is to tell the truth nothing more than pretty. Her appearance has never caused her much issue and indeed she's never taken to heart any compliments or insults thrown her way because of it. It is not that she thought herself ugly, its simply that she cared less about the way she looked and more about life in general.
Though Lira can usually be described as kind she has an angry streak that runs through her quite a bit.
When she becomes passionate about a subject Lira can quickly turn from a reasonable young woman, to an angry hell demon. The same thing can be said for when she defends her own principals. For instance when a bounty was placed on her head instead of running her immediate instinct was to go and confront the issue head on. Only after being restrained was Lira convinced that she needed to flee.
This hot streak has lead to Lira being called a “Schutta” and many other mean names dozens of times. It also showcases her Echani heritage quite well in that her first instinct is to fight, not run away.
With a bit of training and added control that the Jedi will offer, Lira has the capacity to become much more controlled...albeit still a bit bitchy.
Lira had a fairly decent upbringing. She was born on Prakith to two loving parents with decent jobs.
An only child, Lira was raised with the ideals of freedom of thought and complete independence. From a young age she exhibited signs of intelligence and almost surreal amounts of understanding. The first time she got her hands on something she could take apart, she did just that. Unlike a normal child however, she didn't break the toy, simply put it into the sum of its pieces. She studied and learned how things were made then took that experience and made something else.
Though her parents thought her simply quite intelligent, it was in fact something else at work. This tendency towards machines and their operations was in fact the force subtly influencing itself over Lira and her ability to naturally understand the form and function of a machine seemed to come wholly and at once when she touched something.
This ability helped her greatly throughout school, she would learn something, understand it, and then move on in a systematic way. This allowed her to skip over many of the normal studies eventually leading to her early graduation and attendants to Prakith University within Prak City. It was here at the tender age of 17 that Lira's more firey nature became apparent. Once on campus the young girl fell in with a group of politically minded students, and from them she learned much about how the government and bureaucracy of Prakith truly operated.
It was also during this year that the Sith officially seize power both on Prakith, and weeks later on Coruscant.
Almost instantly the planets were subdued, with most of the people quickly falling in line with the new government. Lira and her friends however did not fall so easily. She, along with thousands of other students and people of all ages began to protest against the Sith that held their world. They began peaceful sit ins, powerful rallies, and even held entire city wide concerts to protest the Sith “occupation”. Of course as things tended to do these protests began to escalate, and eventually, riots broke out within the center of Prak City.
It was during one of these riots that Lira discovered her talents within the force for the first time.
When the riots broke out Lira and her friend Solarin were in the very center. The two girls found themselves embroiled in a mix of Riot Police, rioters, and innocent bystanders. Unfortunately for the both of them the overzealous riot police mistook them for instigators, and thus were marked for arrest. As they ran from the police Solarin tripped and was nearly trampled by the fleeing Rioters. With her friend down, and the police coming Lira turned back.
Just as one of the police was about to bat Solarin down with a heavy club Lira screamed, throwing her hands up and sending a wave of the force towards the officer. The man went flying, freeing Solarin and allowing her to scramble to her feet. The two girls did not question what happened at first, instead fleeing into the crowds and disappearing back to their dormitory.
Unfortunately for Lira, the event had been caught on a CCTV Camera and had wound its way up into the highest levels of the Police Department until it eventually reached the Sith.
Since it was mandated that all force users would go to the Sith or be punished by death a small search was begun for Lira. Her picture was broadcast across Prak City, a small reward was placed on her, and the police began a thorough search of her home and known addresses.
Forced to abandon the university Lira managed to slip out of the University with the aid of her friends, taking refuge within the city until she could manage to escape the planet.
It was two Jedi Knights who came to save Lira from Prakith, Hal Terrano and Avalore Eden. Under the advisement of Avalore's once master Diana Moridena Hal and Avalore made the journey to Prakith under the utmost stealth. With Hal's knowledge of the One Sith defenses the two Jedi Knights managed to sneak onto Prakith, finding Lira with the aid of Diana as well as their own intelligence. Eventually, the young woman, along with her new Friends Avalore and Hal managed to escape Prakith, making it through the planets and getting out with no major harm.
It was after Prakith that Lira became part of the Jedi Order.
Though she was given no official Master due to her advanced age and the oddity in having her be a complete padawan, Lira considers her master to be Hal Terrano. Hal taught Lira the ways of the Jedi Code, pushing her and prodding her to do the right thing, rather than what was in her head at the time. It was his tutelage, not necessarily in the ways of combat or politics that gave Lira her moral compass.
She considers Hal to be the reason she can call herself a true Jedi.
Aside from the teaching of Hal Terrano, and his stringent moral compass, Lira also received training from several different masters within the order. Ben Watts, Marcello Matteo, as well as Avalore Eden and a few others all taught Lira how to utilize the Force, a Lightsaber, and what for them, it meant to be a Jedi. It was through their teaching that Lira learned more about herself and what she could do for the Jedi Order, and it was through their teaching that she discovered her talents within Mechu-Deru.
One Jedi Knight Specifically, Bethany Elspeth pushed Lira to discover more of her talents in Mechu-Deru. Through the use of the force, Lira found she was capable of sensing and effecting machines around her.
This helped tremendously with her already capable engineering skills, and after fixing fighter for months, Lira was given the task by KIskla Greyson and the rest of the Jedi Higher ups to construct a new Interceptor for the Jedi Order. Nervous at first, but knowing what the project meant, Lira set to work on designing and building a new Jedi Interceptor that would have an impact in the war against the One Sith.
What came about was the J-1 Class Jedi Interceptor, the fastest and most maneuverable vessel in the entire galaxy.
It was the development and successful operation of this vessel that earned Lira her promotion to Knighthood. Nearly two years after she made it off Prakith with the help of Avalore and Hal, Lira had proven that she was a capable asset in the fight against the One Sith and that she had passed all her trials in order to become a Jedi Knight, having faced adversity on Prakith, and other challenges since joining the Jedi Order.
