Intent: New Alloy for application of Armor and Droid production
Development Thread: if needed
Manufacturer: Break
Model: N/A
Affiliation: public
Modularity: No
Production: Limited
Material: Ionized Durasteel, gold and nickel layered with liquid - like robots programmed to harden and become liquid to fit most any shape
Description:
Overall metal: Liquimanium was developed with a psuedo biology in mind. While most metals once hardened maintain a shape or hardness Liquimanium can change both on the fly by using a "central control brain" (a microchip) to set a shape and hardness (this however cannot become harder than the hardest metal present, Durasteel). It also allows the metal to "Heal" itself upon coming into contact with more of the material or lost material coming back into contact with the main body. Liquimanium does have its limits however, it cannot change structure without first having the command programmed into the central control brain, the central control brain must be in contact with Liquimanium to work, and finally the central control brain while EMP resistant is not EMP proof and will after some exposure to a powerful EMP become useless and short out leaving the liquimanium to fall apart.
Healing factor:While liquimanium can take any shape it will need a frame to go over if the structure is over 3 feet in diameter.
Liquimanium is also unable to take very much heat reacting much in the same way as human flesh. However if given enough time it can in fact heal itself as long as the material is still usable. Liquimanium is not lightsaber proof and is not intended to absorb or reflect lightsabers. contact with a lightsaber blade can inhibit reconstruction where contact has been made, however given enough time (about 10 minutes) repairs can slowly begin again.
armor potential: Liquimanium is watertight lightweight and airtight making for a perfect material for space suits and a thinner outer armor, however as for armor it is more prone to damage than actual durasteel but the reconstructive properties make it fine for light blows and droid material. Liquimanium can shrug off slugthrower fire, generally protect against blaster fire but is horribly weak to plasma and high temperature weaponry such as napalm.
