Strengths: Multiple maneuvering jets of various sizes and degrees of precision allow for quick zero impulse maneuvers.

Two large "maneuvering" engines provide additional speed, turning speed, and braking power depending on the situation.

High grade sensor and comm arrays offer above average data gathering and dissemination capabilities for an interceptor

Vector based shielding allows a pilot to cover avenue of attack while taking up less space and power drain than standard deflector shields

Advanced Tactical Visor System (ATVS) disseminates important information directly to the pilot allowing them to make informed decisions without the bulk or quirks of an astromech or onboard AI, and the voice command system allows quick and natural responses to the ever evolving state of a battlefield (Key features include friend or foe tag override, predictive targeting, and "natural speaking" voice commands)

Gimbal mounted quad pulse laser can be used to precisely target key systems on a starship without shields. Also offers enhanced accuracy without the need to turn the whole craft to target an enemy target in field of view.

Lack of astromech frees up space to allow for improved key systems.

Dallorian alloy used for high heat weaponry and other high heat areas allows for better sustained fire and overclocked capabilities

Weaknesses:
Reliance on nose mounted weapons for the majority of its firepower means a skilled pilot is essential

Missile system is meant mostly to take out shields with little additional damage which means the heavy laser cannons on the nose are the only weapons to punch into larger targets

Vector based shielding is only effective when threats are coming from a single direction and provides little shielding from targets directly over or under meaning the ship relies on good maneuvering to make up for the lack of overall effectiveness

ATVS has no AI so the ship relies almost entirely on pilot input to function and assess threats

Manual friend or foe retagging has the potential for immense pilot error

Expensive components mean the design is difficult to mass produce or replace

Description: In our, "Combat Matters" idea drive, Limited Armaments takes the time to ask our customers what they want to see coming off of our limited run line next, and often we are surprised by the result. Last year you asked us to expand a rare service in production lightsaber manufacture, something that we never would have thought of, and this year is no exception: you asked for an interceptor built for the combat professional in the pilots seat. We asked our engineers, "can we do it?" so here you have it: the Limited Armaments V4 "Ace". This isn't a ship built for someones army of average pilots, it's built for YOU, the Ace among modern combat professionals. From the moment you sit down and initialize the ATVS you realize you, not some quirky AI that might fail to give you vital information, are in total control. The hum of the engines, the systems check, all of these features wait for your command, and you can see a steady stream of vital information available at your fingertips. Though the ATVS attempts to provide the most vital information to you at any point in time, you are in total control over what you believe you need to know. Do you want to know the temperature of your ships engine? One question and your ATVS will search for available information on whatever topic you deem essential.

so, now that you know you are in total control, what does the Ace offer you in terms of capabilities? With no on board AI and a shielding system that only provides protection where you need it we have power and space to work with, and that means we can add more of what you need to outgun and outmaneuver the man behind the enemy cockpit. Outfitted with a shieldbusting missile, 2 heavy laser cannons and an assault laser cannon the Ace can tear through shields and hulls with ruthless efficiency and the addition of a gimbal mounted pulse laser means rapidfire precision to put vital systems under the surgeons blade. On top of this, the Ace features a maneuvering suite capable of rapid 180 degree zero impulse turns. This means that even a foe who gets behind you isn't safe from your deadly focus fire capabilities. All of these factors combine to create a ship that is only as good as its pilot, but we know you are up to the task, Ace.

2 side nose mounted R-9X heavy Laser Cannons - these count as 2 laser cannons each as they are heavy so this would be 4 laser cannons
1 Assault laser cannon - these are very large and would at least be considered a heavy mount so it too counts as 2 laser cannons
1 gimbal mounted quad pulse laser this is basiclly a repeating quad light laser cannon so it would count as 2 laser cannons because it is rapid fire and light quad.
1 Mercybringer missile launcher (2 each)

so exchanging one warhead launcher would give you 4 laser cannons and the 1 launcher
You can either find a substantial weakness such as slower speed and maneuverabiity or lose alot of the weapon systems you have.

limited production will help a bit and so will the vectored shielding weakness
so you can
1. remove the assault laser and quad pulse laser and keep the 2 heavy laser cannons
2. make the heavy laser cannons standard laser cannons and keep either tie assault laser or the quad pulse laser
3. make the heavy lasers light lasers and keep both the assault laser and quad pulse laser
4. reduce speed and maneuvering by 1 each amking them man 2 speed 3 and keep the 2 heavy lasers, and pick one of the other weapons systems, the assault or quad pulse
5. Or remove the missile launcher and keep the speed maneuvering and all the other weapons
 
First of all, I wanna thank you for your time to judge this: I love the ability to create technologies and without judges that would be pretty impossible to maintain.

Now, on to the meat: one thing I would like to bring up is that the mercybringer is a shield only munition, this is a pretty big weakness in most situations as once the two charges are spent to knock down shields this becomes a non factor. Also, the ATVS while it does have a lot of functional aptitudes that do make it useful to a good pilot; those aptitudes are completely pilot centric, as a ship system for any average pilot this would serve as a weakness as it means there is no AI, no way to repair even minor damage in flight like an astromech starship can, and you can't have a "hero" astromech to serve as any kind of engine for deus ex machina. With those things in mind I was wondering if you would reconsider under the caveat of a development thread.

If these details don't change your mind, I do want to mention that I believe when something is created to have very defined strengths and weaknesses it is better to make changes that clarify those factors. This is a very specialized starship: its an air superiority fighter that works best in small groups among a larger force. You send in this fighter when you need to focus a specific part of the battlefield where they can roam among fighter groups and bomber groups and take out starships that are already lacking shields because this has very little in terms of shield destroying capabilities (the laser cannons are too slow in terms of fire rate to hit a shielded target consistently enough to knock down shields without it's very limited supply of missiles that are only effective against shielding. The quad pulse is not powerful enough to punch through shields by itself.) This is a starship that is also very vulnerable of outnumbered at all and stray fire is more of a danger than for most other starships. It has those clear weaknesses that make it good at winning but not good on the baseline when on the losing side of a conflict. On the other hand it is very effective at controlling the air and space over a battlefield. When you have an even playing field it's great at creating quick advantages and then capitalizing on those advantages to push further.

it is still counted as a warhead launcher. a weapon system designed for taking down shielding is still a weapon system. An ion cannon is still considered the same as a turbolaser.

the weapons systems are what they are I have layed out several choices for you. I am allowing you more than a standard interceptor because of the production and weaknesses.

you have this listed as an interceptor not a fighter. A fighter would need speed and maneuvering 3 but would allow more weapons.

the rate of fire on the lasers is the same as any other laser cannon. the quad pulse lasers are actually a repeating light laser with a high rate of fire.

You just can not arm an interceptor like a gunship. IF you like you can make the speed and maneuvering 4, and make it a "light gunship" and keep all your weapons.
 
I actually was under the impression heavy lasers had a slower rate of fire. If they maintain the same rate of fire as a standard laser however I have absolutely no problem with dropping the warhead launcher. I apologize for being misinformed on that front, and again thank you for your patience and help. (Also, when I say air superiority fighter I mean interceptor, it's just awkward wording to call it an air superiority interceptor)
