  • Model: CTS-1
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: light duralloy chassis.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • LIKON durability: LIKON values toughness and durability, reflected in redundant systems, additional bracing, fusion welded plating, and magna bolted seals. LIKON products are typically known to be able to take hits and keep on functioning.
  • LIKON universality: LIKON specifically designs its systems with a minimum of moving parts, and with as much universal access as possible to allow for a seamless and pain-free maintenance cycle. It is exceptionally easy to repair and maintain this item.
  • Space saver: this droid can collapse itself into a tube half its regular size when in storage mode; this makes for easier transportation and deployment.
STRENGTHS
  • (+) Miracle builder: this droid is exceptionally well suited to construction, repair, maintenance, and fabrication projects. Utilizing its small size and the variety of tools at its disposal, the CTS-1 is capable of instantaneously communicating via hyperwave channel with other CTS-1 units for an incredibly high level of efficiency. This communication method is largely un-jammable when paired with its comm repeater and comm booster pack (a necessity in environments with heavy radiation or energy discharges), though when repeating and boosting it can only communicate unhindered within a hundred meter radius.
  • (+) Construction armor: this droid is well armored with shielding and a reinforced duralloy chassis. Highly resistant to energy and kinetic damage, this provides excellent protection against magma, explosions, boulders, industrial accidents, and other hazards encountered on work sites.
WEAKNESSES
  • (-) Not suited for combat: while these droids are well armored, their weaponry is only effective at short (immediate) range and makes them ill-suited for combat.
  • (-) Singleminded: as a Second Degree droid, the CTS-1 is autonomous and capable of self-direction. However, the CTS-1 is known for being exceptionally singleminded and one-tracked; the CTS-1 will ignore disasters, breaches in security, and virtually all other distractions in favor of continuing its work.
DESCRIPTION
The spiritual successor to the "Hatchling" maintenance droid millennia prior, the CTS-1 constructor droid was envisioned by LIKON as a small one meter length droid with multiple manipulator arms, a powerful processor, and a dual microthruster-repulsor package that would allow it to work terrestrially or in space within proximity to an orbital dock.

The crowning feature of the CTS-1 is its internal toolbay and communications package. It's toolbay carries a number of light and heavy tool attachments that could be equipped by its tool appendages - this allows the CTS-1 to carry out a number of functions in a single compact package, without the need for multiple specialized droid models.

The CTS-1's communication package makes use of hyperwave channel and high-frequency data streams to instantaneously communicate with other CTS-1s. This allows for an incredible level of coordination and efficiency; it isn't uncommon to see CTS-1s swarming like insects or a flock of birds around a construction project, building tirelessly at an astounding pace that only droids are capable of.

While efficient, adaptive, and capable of a vast array of construction, maintenance, and repair projects, the CTS-1 is notably singleminded; their hive-like focus on their work means that CTS-1s will often ignore outside phenomena (such as accidents, or even intruders) in favor of continuing their work.
