Trayus Laboratory, Malachor V

There were treasures to be found in Vanessa's own backyard - treasures that admittedly she had not chosen to yet recover. As of late, Vanessa had been dealing with a situation - one of the stasis pods for the Vinithi had accidentally discharged its occupant. Number 88 was fully grown, as the other Vinithi had been, and had already taken quickly to Basic, though she still had a very childlike attitude about things despite readily accepting the Sith teachings. She had even chosen a name - Ror'jhan Vantai, after the old Sith word for "she-whose-leaves-sweat-poison." The closest thing to a daughter Vanessa figured she would ever have, she was trying her best to actually be a good mom. And that involved adventuring.

"Hey, Rory... you want to go on an adventure?"

Ror'jhan was laying flat on her bed, her eyes fixed on a holovid playing from a device. The programme playing was a children's show, albeit a highly romanticized historical show. The Sith Wars, based upon a bunch of historical fantasy holofilms by Gee-Orj Ruukas. It was entertaining, despite the stylized animation. She flicked the holoprojector off when she heard her mother enter.

"Adventure?" The Vinithi inquired, sitting cross-legged with curious eyes. "What kind've adventure, Mother?"

Adventures, she had learned, meant getting out. It seemed that most days it was stuck at home-- the Trayus Laboratory complex that is -- either getting tutored in Sith mysticism or lightsaber training or sitting around watching HoloNet programmes. That is not to say she did not enjoy spending quality time with Mother, but a change of scenery was always nice. The plant girl jumped up from her bed, landing on her feet ready and excited. She summoned her lightsaber to her hand, looping it on her belt.

“I found something really interesting out.” She said to her daughter. “There’s something here. Something deep down in the Trayus Core here at the laboratory. Some ancient lightsabers belonging to the infamous Sith Lord known as Darth Traya. If we can get those lightsabers and restore them to working order, as they apparently got damaged pretty badly by a Jedi, then I’ll let you have one.” She smiled. “It’s a good way to let you learn how to do Jar’Kai.”

She thought for a moment. “Remember that repulsorlift platform that came with the maintenance droids? We’re going to need to head down several hundred feet to find them. A spooky adventure where there is almost no light.” She moved her fingers in a spooky way. “Are you ready?”

Ror'jhan was making up a travel pack for said adventure as her mother explained. What was that word she said? Jerky? No, Jar'kai. She remembered it from her lightsaber sessions with her mother. She recalled a holo she was shown of a pale, bald lady swinging two lightsabers at once. She made sure her pack was well stored with hydration bottles. She knew she would get thirsty on an adventure.

"Cool~! Spooky adventure!" She sounded extremely excited, "Gonna get a second lightsaber and be like Lady Ventress!"

She double checked her pack to make sure she had everything before she stood by her creator. She had an excited, ready demeanor plastered on her pale-green face.

"All set, Mother!" She proclaimed with a smile.

Vanessa herself was getting the repulsorlift package ready. It was of critical importance that she made sure it worked, for if it did not, they would be stuck several hundred feet down at the bottom of the Trayus Core with no means of escape. She hit a button on it and it began to gently float, slowly but surely maneuvering in the direction Vanessa pressed the button for.

“Thank feth this works.” She muttered. “Okay, sweetie. We’re ready to go. Get your things and we’ll drag this thing over to the Core and hope for the best.” She smiled, thinking over how effective this was going to be - having these lightsabers would give her components to salvage in order to make her daughter another weapon - a weapon of history that would contrast her weapon of modern functionality.

Once Vanessa pushed the platform over the edge, watching the repulsor platform float, one of its rails open on the side for them to get onto it. Her lightsaber - an insignificant thing made as crude and reliable as possible - was brought to her waist. “Get on, dear - we have all day, but the sooner we do this, the better.” She said.

Rory made sure she had everything that would need in her pack before joining her mother on the repulsorlift elevator. She was always curious as to why her mother seemed to resent carrying a lightsaber, yet made her practice with the dueling droids. She shrugged to herself. Mother will be mother.

"Ready when you are, Mother!" She said with an adventurous smile spread across her face.

She stood to one side of the lift, holding onto the railing. There was a gut feeling about it that made her wary of stading without holding onto something. She looked around as a sign of curiousity. Indeed, the mind of a chil that was so aware of the world around her. She would not try to miss any missing pieces of thecomplex. Who knows? Mother could very well quiz her on something minute later during studies.

Once the two of them were on board the repulsor platform, Vanessa began to slowly lower it into the hole - only to stop and look over at the case containing her perpetuating lightsabers. She used the Force to open it, bringing the original prototype to her hand. This weapon would be useful against whatever was at the bottom of this hole. Once she had the weapon, it slowly began to descend, further and further until the ring of light was naught but a microscopic pinprick amongst the tube of seemingly endless darkness.

Vanessa activated her lightsaber and motioned for Rory to do the same. It was less about being battle-ready and more about illumination. She had no idea how far down this tunnel went - only that it had an ending somewhere.
