Like a Pheonix

As Rygel Larraq and his date walked through the museum, he could not help but to feel that it was not going well. Silently, the two walked side by side through the old war museum and stared at one work of art or another. Depictions of glorious battles and lined the walls and repaired and carefully maintained replicas adorned the floors of the museum. A replica of an ancient Basilisk War Droid being ridden by the Mand'alor was placed in the center of the old hanger bay. Dozens of other machines and replicas dotted the landscape that surrounded them.

Larraq liked the woman. Well enough anyway. She had a pretty face and her armor shaped hugged her body in all the right places. Every now and then he caught himself staring at her backside as she led the way to one piece of artwork or another. It was a rather shapely backside... But he glanced away before she could turn and catch him staring at her.

He really wished he could think of something to talk about.

It had been a strange day indeed and when Sayuri had been asked to 'help' her sister there wasn't much arguing. Well there could be but unlike the rest of her sisters she didn't always enjoy the idea of being punched or fighting to solve disagreements. No right now she looked at Basaba walking with the captain and had spent several hours getting her ready. Doing well doing her clothing since short hair only served to hinder the treatment. Now she was looking at the woman from under one of the camo cloaks Basaba used for sneaking around. The comlink in her ear taking in the sight of the two as she spoke. "He's staring at your butt, be careful he seems shifty. " Her eyes continued to track the pair while she could hear Basaba over the comlink reviewing what she had been telling her. "This is a piece depicting the battle and taking of Empress Teta."

Larraq glanced at @[member="Basaba Willamina"] once more before adverting his eyes to the display before himself. The two of them had wondered around the city for a few hours before deciding to visit one of Mandalore's many museums. This particular one happened to be made out of an ancient and decomissioned Kandosii-class Dreadnaught. It was an old design that had served as a backbone for the Mandalorian navy for thousands of years. Even today, there were models of the craft that still served in the navies of one clan or another. The missiles were expensive to stock and the ship itself was a pain to maintain with the frequent rewiring and constant electrical problems... But it maintained itself as a strong and stable ship of the line throughout the centuries.

Larraq ran his hand over the kiosk that displayed the achievements of this particular ship. Raining nuclear fire on three planets, participating in 12 major battles, and killing seven hostile ships before being decommissioned... She had served her people well. He actually smiled as he thought about the model of ship. The design had outlasted hundreds of other models throughout history. She was simple, effective, and vicious. Much like the woman he was currently on a date with.

"She's a beautiful ship." Larraq said finally and awkwardly. He was never good with women.

Sayuri frowned hearing what was said as she had to admit to a few things. One was that this captain had no idea Basaba flew ships like she knitted. With the grave of a gundark in a china shop, granted she knew how to fly a transport but it was big and lumbered with a bunch of people. Two that as she spoke into the headset she was looking on the datapad for the information about the battles and ship. "Tell him it is a very nice ship, how you admire the curves and structure." She looked at the sister as Basaba spoke awkwardly into the empty space not fully looking at the display. "It is a very nice ship, many battle and brought honor. I wish there were more built like it."

Rygel Larraq smiled politely at the woman before returning his gaze to the display in front of him. It was truly an efficient ship. He had personally seen a few still in service with one clan or another over the years. They were still produced in small numbers, and a few of the ancient vessels were kept operating through various refits and by repairing and replacing the various electrical and electronic systems that failed during the lifetime of the vessel. But on the whole, she was a beautiful ship.

Glancing back at the woman he was here with, Larraq couldn't quite remember how he had gotten dragged into this. The two of them awkwardly began walking towards the next display in silence. Larraq may have a bad history with women, but he was far from clueless about them. He simply got to focused in his business to allow himself time for relationships. But if there was anything he knew about women, especially Mandalorian women, it was that they were very attached to their clothing. Resorting to one of the more reliable conversation pieces in Mandalorian culture, Larraq asked @[member="Basaba Willamina"] a question that he hoped would get them out of the awkward silence and into a more comfortable conversation. "So tell me about your armor. It looks custom."

Sayuri looked at her sister pale, the womans face going into a frown before She scrambled to find a new position and speak. "Yes tell him yes it is custom, the bladesisters are a proud clan from Dxun and all over. I swear how you got picked by the previous Mandalore for a date is beyond me." Then she was looking at her and willing it as much as possible to happen. "Yes I made my armor with my sisters on Dxun, I am one of the bladesisters permitted offworld to meet with and represent the clan." -FACEPALM- That just made her sound like a cavewoman and she looked at her feeling sorry. "You dummy now you sound like we're kept in the backwoods and away from the others. Oh your impossible."

Larraq smiled politely and walked with @[member="Basaba Willamina"] to the next display. It was a statue of a man that had, according to the placard, destroyed Sorocco. Larraq had learned about the man and his methods of countering the Republic in the Dem'adas Acadamy, but couldn't remember his name. All the same though. The man was ruthless and secured many victories to the Mando'ade. It was a shame that Manda'yaim didn't have more soldiers like this one to protect her and her interests.

"So... What got you dragged into this?" Larraq finally said, caving into the awkwardness of the situation. Every now and then a pair of clans would push for two of their young warriors to bind themselves to each other. Sometimes it was to settle a dispute. Other times it was simply to broker continued relations. Either way, it was a situation that Larraq had little interest in.

Sayuri could see Basaba pale... which on her was something to behold since she was usually always pale but the mandalorian rose to the challenge. Biting her lower lip as she stood there and Sayuri spoke. "Tell him his prowess at Dromund Kaas showed he is one of great honor and virility. That joining the two of you is a smart decision." For a moment she was hoping that didn't go over her sisters head but she willed it, this was a woman who could remember layouts and hunt in the jungles of Dxun surely she wouldn't mess up a simple show of respect." Then she saw Basaba stand up a little straighter and tap her chest. "Clan Willamina wants the destructor of the sith's capital, we'd make strong children, males go to you. Females live on Dxun with us."

Rygel Larraq gasped in shock as he stumbled over a display and fell to the floor. Looking up from his backside, all that Larraq could utter was "uhh." As he looked up at the enormous woman, then around himself at the destroyed statue of a Mandalorian killing a jetti with a Beskad.

"I'm sorry." Larraq said as he stumbled to his feet and quickly tried to dust himself off. "But something's just come up."

Larraq turned from the woman and practically trotted to the exit.

Sayuri looked at Basaba after the captain almost ran away and her had went to her head with an audible slap of flesh on flesh. She looked at her sister who stood there and spoke into the headset. "And we got a runner, want us to chase him with the stick?" She could almost imagine the gears turning and contemplating her sister thinking that idea. "No no no that was a joke we aren't on Dxun you can't beat him with a stick until he's into you." At least that was what most of them believed in... She understood the problem with her sister being more she spent to much time training and making weapons for the mandalorians/protectorate that she didn't have actual social skills. "Ahhh come on now I'll buy you some sweet cream and we'll chalk this one up as a maybe. He never did say don't come over with a wardroid."

Sayuri walked over and joined her sister as the two of them stood there and she took the stick from her sister who spoke walking through the museum. "I think that went well he knows we have honor and are a better choice." Sayuri could agree but she also knew the small reputation the clan had for being less tactful and straightforward. She gave a small laugh and stopped by the gift shop to get a few things before walking back with Basaba as they went towards the Yaim'la and the rest of her sisters.
