Like a Calm Breeze, the Force Flows

Sophia didn't understand why but it didn't really matter. What mattered was making up for lost time she could have spent studying and using the Force. The little bit she knew from her childhood was nothing more than child's play and she wanted to know more, which she did, Sophia would have to go to the source.

Sighing she took a deep breath as she took a step forward into the Jedi Temple. It was weird being here again after everything that had happened since last time. The Jedi though knew their stuff so it would behoove her learn as much as she could from them dispute what others thought. She was positive he would teach her something as well in due time. If he knew that she was here Sophia knew that he wouldn't be pleased. Josiah, her official master, was great but nobody knew everything so she wished to learn from a variety of different masters.

Making her way into one of the training rooms she sat in my middle of it as she awaited the arrival of Master Syn. The last time she saw him he had helped her with her nightmares and now he was going to teach her somethings. She was rather excited about actually learning from a Jedi Master. She had always wanted to learn from a Jedi master and now she was getting that chance. Sophia really owed him for everything he had done for her and continued to do for her which was why she had brought some muffins with her. It wasn't much but it was something at least.

Syn had heard the news... or at least been told in passing. Sophia Walsh who he had not seen since well the last time she was in the temple. Given all that had happened he was intrigued and when he had been asked for personally. More so, he wasn't the same jedi master who had met her, no he had changed and now stood as Bolverk, the dark one of the order for his actions. Which razing a sith academy in Republic space... There were few who could argue the intent, few who wanted to defend leaving it in peace. It was why when the question of punishment, of a trial came... he had been stayed. Expelling a jedi for fighting the darkside and defending lives would send chaos into the order. Make the already questioning ones choose a path.

That though he mused touching the taozin bracelet, a small prize. Something made from the nodules of the grubs and bestowing its cloak. Letting his force presence disappear into the ether like he was never there. It was a simple trinket to most but it provided so much freedom of not needing to focus on concealing ones presence. It let him relax while the black robes with purple trim brought him to stand in the room. He took in the sight of Sophia in the force and she was vastly different compared to last time. Calmer, at ease and almost... Normal after being afraid of her nightmares and what had happened. "Welcome back to the temple Miss Walsh."

"Thank you for agreeing to see me again Master Syn. It's nice to see you again and be here under different circumstances." She had been a broken woman last they met struggling just to survive. Since she had some more dealings with the Sith but nothing she hadn't handled. The last kidnapping actually was turning into something most unexpected still she needed to learn more and she could think of nobody better. After all she knew of no other Jedi whom would go through such lengths to keep the peace. Jedi weren't killers but he had done what needed to be done and this she respected.

The nightmares that he had helped her with still there from time to time. They would always be there as a reminder of where she came from and how far she had come. It also reminded her how much she still had to learn. One day too she would learn how to use Force Lightning but she knew that would happen in time. "So when do I get to learn Force Lightning?" It never hurt to ask.

Syn moved more into the room and stood opposite her, not too close but enough that when she asked about lightning he raised an eyebrow. Now he was curious... She was asking for something no jedi would teach her... Or at least none that were typical jedi. It meant she was either counting on his reputation of being unorthodox in the order or she was hoping to mirror her captors and be able to fight back. "Lightning is a dangerous technique Sophia, to use it means tapping into your hatred, feeling your darkside. Given what has happened to you I would think that was the last thing you would want to do." Then the real question of what had happened to make her like this, to become as such came to his mind while he stood there. "What has happened since you left the Republic?"

"Oh it is, I'm just curious." Sophia replied quietly. She didn't want to strike fear in the hearts of others and be like them. What they had done to her was horrible and nothing she would wish on her worst enemy. It may not seem like it at times but she really did have the best intentions at heart. It was why she had made the deals that she had and went in the direction she did. "I thought knowing what goes into it at the very least may help me avoid another attack. Come up with a way to counter it by understanding it. Though I'm unsure there is a way to understand such darkness." Getting into the mind of a Sith sounded like a slippery slope and a road she wished to not go down. Though she had come to recently realize not all Sith were power hungry bloodthirsty killers. A few had some humanity left if one took the time to look.

Somehow she knew this was coming. There was no way Sophia would get away with asking about such a dark power without an explanation. Sighing Sophia looked down to the floor for a second before looking back to Master Syn. It wasn't that she had an issue explaining herself it was more of how to explain herself. It was complicated, really complicated. "After I left I wandered for a bit trying to find my way in the galaxy not really knowing where to go or where to turn. The Grand Marshall of the confederacy approached me with a deal I couldn't refuse so I went. It is safe what I know as a Captain and on the plus side my family wasn't there. Since than I have been kidnapped again by the Sith." She paused for a moment to sigh and shake her head. It wasn't really kidnapping but it was hard to explain. "I must be like a Sith magnet but anyways I survived that. It did trigger me to go seek out help so I could learn to defend myself. It was than I found a hint of Force-sensitivity though training with Master Denkio." This changed nothing, she was still a Captain but now learning a little about the Force. Currently Sophia had her eye on a different position within the confederacy which this would support.

Listening to her speak and then mention a failed jedi brought... something. With a look at her he remained very still, he searched with the force and his senses bringing them to bare on her before speaking. "There re ways to defend against such an attack and understanding it can go a long way but it is dangerous and not to be taken lightly." He remained staring at her but teaching her to defend against lightning wouldn't be too bad, she wasn't strong enough to learn how to catch it and turn it into energy, he wasn't going to show her how a jedi could use it because it could be abused. Plus her working for non jedi was more so a dangerous gambit to let teachings get out.

"Do you have a lightsaber?" His hands went to his belt and held the single hilt in his hands. He squeezed it a moment before looking back up. A training blade might be needed but if she had been working with the force she should have more then enough to hopefully hold the blade without slicing her limbs off.

"I know and I wouldn't take any of this lightly. It's a serious power and I'm sure defending against it is just as powerful." She wasn't here to mess around, she was serious about her training. It wouldn't behoove her to waste her time or his time. They were both very busy people.

Nodding she unclipped her saber that was hooked to her belt next to her blaster. It was weird having that with her now and she wasn't that great at using it but she felt it was good to bring it. "I do but I'm just learning how to use it. I'll admit my skills with it aren't that great though. I'm a better pilot."

He focused on her more, not her body but her hands when it went to her waist. That small crystals force presence that it had. He felt it and saw it. Now how to best teach one just learning to block. His saber went back to his waist as he clipped it. "Alright we will go small in the lesson. It is possible for most to block lightning with their blade. The arc will come to your sabers blade but you have to be ready. Activate it and stand in the ready stance." The jedi master breathed in deeply bringing his hand up then wiggled his fingers for a moment letting green arcs of lightning crackle. Electric judgement was... weaker then traditional lightning but it was a jedi's technique something one skilled could use but they needed to be a master or a trusted knight.

"I will be careful but the shock could stun you. It will be like a stun round to a limb or pelko barbs. If at any time you wish to stop say so. Now with your blade forward bring it just like you would to deflect a blaster bolt." Slowly his finger extended as the lightning arced down it before coming out in a single spark aimed at her blade.

Sophia froze a little as she saw the little spark between his fingers. She had seen something similar and it had caused her to freeze during battle. It had brought everything back to her, all the horrors had come rushing back to her. This time she needed to ensure that this didn't happen. The only problem was her issue with the light saber as it wasn't her strongest asset but she was here to learn.

Standing up she ignited her green blade and took a deep breath trying to prepare herself for what was coming. He didn't need to tell her how lightning felt. She was well aware of that.

Nodding that she was ready Sophia took a deep breath as she watched the green light instead of the Sith red escape his finger tips. She may have had her light saber posed and ready but inside she was still that scared little girl unable to do anything. Her mind told her to move the saber to shield herself from the lighting but her body just wouldn't do it.

The moment the shock hit her Sophia's saber went to block the green lightning from hitting her anymore. The shock was still there but not as potent as she remembered. There was probably a good reason for that. Even with her saber semi-blocking she could feel the sting. It was obvious she still needed to conquer her fears. She needed to react quicker.

Syn didn't react to her but he did stop raising his finger back up then down. "It may sting but from most others it shall be far worse, this is electric judgement and it at its strongest stuns without killing. It is what makes the jedi different compared to the others." Then he saw how she was positioning the blade sending another fingers spark at her low. "Let the force flow freely, it will guide you and can wash away that fear, that feeling in your stomach." He wasn't sure but her body had changed a little, something had come over her. If he could see her face it might have been easier to see but he couldn't so hearing and smelling her bodies natural reactions would have to suffice.
