ARMOR PIECES
  • Duramyne jacket: A flexible low-density high-tensile strength, flame-retardant, cut-resistant, stab-resistant, heat-resistant and ballistic-resistant jacket constructed of an outer 1mm armorweave and 6mm aramyne is worn over the torso and covers from clavicle, lowers cervical vertebrate, over the shoulders and reaches down over the torso to the waist and tapers into a pair of tassets which cover the outside thighs. Noticeable leave the space between the under-arm to hip unprotected for flexibility. Contains slits in it to be connected with the hard-armor pieces.
  • Load-bearing harness: The Lightweight combat ensemble is issued with a load-bearing harness which is a series of straps that pass through the hard-armor and duramyne jacket for maximum load-distribution over a large surface area. The biggest part of the load-bearing harness is a duty-belt which can be fitted with a long stretch of pouches for equipment and ammunition, The load-bearing harness's belt tapers down to the tassets of the duramyne jacket where further pouches can be strapped against the wearer's thighs.
  • M1A4 cuirass: A cuirass upto 13mm thickness constructed from extremely durable and heat-resistant tungsten carbide and esstride, it reaches from the top of clavicles, the top cervical vertebrate and reaches down to the waist and tapers neatly towards the ribs. However there is a gap in the cuirass from the underarm down to the hip for flexibility and for a streamlined as opposed to rounded shape which could impact agility and maneuverability. The cuirass contains the strap anchoring points for the other armor pieces and a high-definition body camera for intelligence and recording purposes.
  • M2A5 deltoid protectors: Each lightweight combat ensemble contains a pair of tungsten carbide and esstride angular deltoid protectors approximately 3mm thick, the angle on the protectors rakes over the bicep and tricep for optimal surface coverage.
  • M3A1 greave: Connected to a pair of angular knee-guards by a series of straps is the tungsten carbide and esstride greaves of the lightweight combat ensemble. They're approximately 10mm at their thickest point.
  • M5A4 enhanced combat helmet: Its' design inspired loosely by ancient Mandalorian and Republic helmets the M110A4 ECH is constructed from tungsten carbide and esstride approximately 14mm at its' thickest with several individual form pads inside the helmet for maximum comfort. The helmet has hardware and software compatibility with the Asimoff brain-machine interface, silentia-series of artificial intelligence and helmet-mounted intelligence system and its' visor is constructed from 14mm aluramic and polarizable. Within the helmet is a rubber seal which inflates to form an independent atmosphere from the user's environment and a vocalizer unit so that speech can be transmitted from this atmosphere, for protection against CBRN threats the air-intakes are physically shielded from acids and fitted with filters to shield against all chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats. Additionally the helmet possesses its' own rebreather technology and allows operation in vacuum for approximately one hour it also features an independent power supply which at fully charge provides 1,500 hours of life and is solar rechargeable.
  • CT-10 safety boots: Includes an appropriately sized pair of anti-slip high-traction fragmentation-resistant composite-toed black safety boots constructed from leather, armorweave and aramyne with extreme levels of support and comfort for a wide variety of feet and gait-patterns.
  • Alphaskin Tactical-gloves: Abrasion and cut-resistant gloves constructed from 0.5-1.0mm aramyne with textured high-adhesion grips and hardened molded plastic placed over the knuckles and highest digit of each finger for increased melee striking power.
  • Duramyne Techsuit: A vacuum-sealed and rated lightweight encapsulating the whole body upto the jaw worn under the user's tri-color uniform, outer layer consists of an outer 1.5mm durasteel armorweave and the inner layer is approximately 1.5mm aramyne. Includes environmental control system for optimal comfort in extremely hot or cold climates.
  • Disruptive-pattern tri-color uniform: The clothing of the Lightweight combat ensemble is the League tri-color battle dress uniform camouflaged appropriately for the environment and constructed from 1mm of aramyne for cut, slash resistance and fire retardation. The tri-color uniform has a pair of molded tungsten carbide-esstride elbow guards approximately 2mm thick where the elbows should correspond to being on an appropriately sized uniform.

STRENGTHS
  • Elemental tolerance: The materials used in the lightweight combat ensemble are highly resilient to both extreme cold and extreme heat, although admittedly they're more resilient to the effects of the cold than the heat. The Lightweight combat ensemble is capable of resisting the chemical and material effects of the absence of thermal energy all the way down to sub-zero making it resilient to cryogenic effects. meanwhile for thermal energy the more thermal sensitive materials are shielded by Durasteel but all-in-all the materials will all fail at temperatures of around three-thousand degrees Celsius. The environmental controls can keep the user sufficiently warm and alive with armor system integrity down to a temperature of -270 degrees celsius for about an hour or 1,000 degrees celsius over the same time-frame.
  • Electromagnetic pulse/Electrical resistance: There is high levels of electrical resistivity and density exhibited by the materials and in the quantities used within the lightweight combat ensemble. The ensemble is well earthed and will not conduct electricity through its' materials to the user as a general rule and the delicate electronic systems contained in the helmet, cuirass and environmental-control equipped bodysuit are shielded against high-energy electromagnetic pulse bursts.
  • Energy resilience: With its' hard armor constructed from tungsten carbide and esstride lightweight combat ensemble features an impressively high melting point and thermal resistance leaving it capable of withstanding hits from conventional blaster weapons without much consequence although multiple successive hits threaten to compromise the molecular structure. The cuirass for example is rated to withstand approximately fifty shots from an average blaster rifle over an extended period of time without exceeding its' thermal capacity.
  • Kinetic resistance: Because of the materials used in the construction of the hard-armor pieces the Lightweight combat ensemble offers very good resistance to ballistic based weapons such as slugthrowers, firearms and scatter guns, the cuirass can withstand in excess of 110,000 joules of kinetic energy without breaking although it is unlikely that the body sheathed in the armor would survive the hydrostatic shock of such an impact without being thoroughly maimed it stands as a testament to the strength of tungsten and esstride based armor.
  • Lightweight & comfortable: One of the graces of the combat ensemble is its' impressive lightweight which makes it very comfortable, agile and maneuverable making it suitable for a wide variety of military occupations from tank crewmen, military police to humble cooks. An individual could wear the armor and its' load bearing equipment for hours comfortably and not be itching to be liberated from its' shell.
WEAKNESSES
  • Gamma radiation: While the armor ensemble offers adequate protection against all alpha and beta particles the hard-armor plating simply doesn't cover enough surface area to offer adequate protection against Gamma wave radiation emitted by the activity of certain charged particles. Gamma radiation is still a very dangerous hazard for the wearers and they would be wise even wearing the ensemble to evacuate an area contaminated with Gamma radiation as soon as possible and seek immediate advanced care for acute radiation poisoning. This makes it extremely dangerous for personnel wearing the lightweight ensemble to be equipped with weapons in the League's arsenal such as Regium-270.
  • Lightsabers: Melee weapons which emit extreme amounts of thermal energy such as lightsabers which reportedly burn at a temperature in excess of 20,000 degrees celsius are capable of slicing through the hard tungsten-esstride armor with frighting ease. Even the most superficial glances threaten to cleave parts of the armor free and inflict damage. The same qualities could be extended to several weapons in the category of electro-plasma which also typically emit blistering temperatures from magnetically-contained plasma-blades.
  • Limited coverage: As a concession to the weight restrictions of the design there are several parts of the anatomy uncovered by hard armor most notable among these is the large gap in the cuirass which reaches from the under-arm to the hip or the greaves as another example which leave the thighs largely uncovered with the arms beneath the elbow being another relatively unprotected part of wearer's anatomy, these areas are dramatically more vulnerable to all threats when compared to the hard-armor.
  • Sonic weaponry: One of the less noble qualities of Esstride is the speed at which sound waves propagate through its' tightly-bound molecular structure which stands at an astonishing 6.2 km/s leaving the user very vulnerable to the effects of sonic blasters if they are appropriately configured, additionally the sonic waves can find impurities within the manfactured armor and cause brittle fractures which can weaken the overall integrity of the armor.
DESCRIPTION
The Lightweight Combat Ensemble is a League of Sanctified Steel designed and manufactured multipurpose body armor ensemble made up of several different pieces its' hard body armor pieces are constructed from relatively thick heat-treated de-brittlized tungsten carbide-esstride pieces while the 'soft armor' is often woven from armorweave with durasteel fibers or some combination of durasteel armorweave laminated with aramyne to present the latter from disintegrating and its' fibers weakening at elevated temperatures in a composite material referred to as Duramyne. The Armor's physical design was loosely inspired by the Mandalorian shocktroopers and Grand Army of the Republic in antiquity with the visor vaguely resembling the fabled 'T' shape ubiquitous with that formidable warrior culture.

Among the ensemble's most basic components is an armorweave-aramyne "techsuit" which contains an integrated defibrillator and environmental control system which works to keep the wearer at core body temperature regardless of the ambient environment's temperature, additionally the heating and cooling system can also match infrared signatures of the current weather as well to allow the user to go undetected in hostile locations. The black techsuit is vacuum sealed and rated covering the wearer from their toes all the way upto the base of jaw. Because of its' use of aramyne and armorweave the techsuit is quite durable and capable of successfully resisting some ballistic threats on its' own and tested to resist against slugthrowers firing ammunition with approximately 1,000 joules of kinetic energy making it quite resilient when faced with archaic firearms and slugthrower designs. It is also abrasion-resistant, slash-resistant, cut-resistant, heat-resistant and fire-retardant.

Worn above the techsuit is the League of Steel battledress uniform which is a disruptive-pattern tri-color uniform which can have its' pattern modified to suit a particular operational environment constructed from 1mm of Aramyne which offers abrasion-resistance, cut-resistance and slash-resistance along with being heat-resistant and fire-retardant. The Tri-color disruptive pattern camouflage uniform has approximately 2mm thick tungsten carbide-esstride elbow guards bonded onto its' surface to offer protection to the wearer's elbows from sudden jarring movements such as diving into prone cover from a standing position or using their elbows as a melee weapon in hand-to-hand fighting. The techsuit and uniform's qualities make it impossible to immolate the wearers using incendiary weapons such as flamethrowers and incendiary grenades, the density of the uniform and techsuit also dramatically reduces the effectiveness of most melee and blunt hand-to-hand attacks.

Separating
the uniform from the hard armor plates is a "Duramyne" jacket is constructed from 1mm armorweave as the outer-most part of the jacket with 6mm aramyne behind it for increased strength while the durasteel reinforced armorweave fibers prevent the aramyne's fibers from unraveling when subjected to extremely high temperatures. The duramyne jacket reaches down from the clavicle and lowest cervical vertebrate over the shoulders and reaches down over the torso to the waist, there is hole into the jacket reaching from under the arms to the hips to ensure flexibility. The duramyne jacket can withstand approximately 2,500 joules of kinetic energy making it resistant to slugthrower ammunition of an intermediate cartridge. The duramyne jacket is abrasion-resistant, cut-resistant, slash-resistant, heat-resistant and flame-retardant, the combination of these qualities mean that if a user is forced to ditch their hard armor due to damage, their duramyne jacket while not able to offer adequate protection from energy weapons could protect the wearer from slugthrowers.

All of the hard armor for the lightweight combat ensemble is constructed from heat-treated tungsten carbide to make it more ductile and flexible along with esstride, there are several pieces of the hard armor and this includes a helmet, cuirass, deltoid protectors, greaves and knee-pads. The material's chemical and mechanical properties means it can resist significant amounts of punishment from energy weapons, and is rated to withstand upto fifty direct shots from a conventional blaster rifle over a protracted firefight before its' protective qualities and chemical structure are compromised. The maximum kinetic energy the armor can absorb is approximately 110,000 joules although just because the armor would prevent penetration doesn't necessarily mean it would prevent all injury to the wearer, that amount of kinetic energy could potentially result in maiming or death due to massive hydrostatic shock being transferred through the armor.

The helmet is a sophisticated piece of equipment and supports the Asimoff brain-machine interface, the presence of a silentia-series artificial intelligence and the helmet-mounted intelligence system giving it unparalleled data management, situational awareness and intelligence capability. The helmet is 14mm thick around the visor's frame with the visor itself is constructed from approximately 14mm aluramic and can withstand a massive 20,000 joules of kinetic energy meaning the visor can withstand kinetic energy in excess of what would come from a 12.7mm armor-piercing 52g round travelling at about nine-hundred meters per second without catastrophically failing i.e being penetrated. The aluramic can also withstand extremely high temperatures such as those imparted by energy weapons, and can take sustained punishment from them without failing.

For operations in a vacuum or contaminated environment the helmet contains a pair of physically shielded respirators to protect them from acid with the respirators themselves being rated for chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear particles. Additionally, the helmet contains a closed-circuit rebreather and recycles the user's waste product allowing them to maintain an independent atmosphere within a vacuum for upto an hour. Permitting for extended extra-vehicular activity. The helmet also has a liquid induction port so that the wearer can drink in a contaminated environment without needing to remove the helmet and therefore expose themselves to contaminants, for communications the helmet features a broadband antenna its' comlink has an impressive line-of-sight range of around fifty-eight kilometers allowing troops to maintain tactical communication over a wide-front.
