Major Locations:
Mesolia - Capital. Mesolia is the central hub and seat of government on Levasseur. The majestic palace that overlooks the city resides on a peninsula, its' back facing the great ocean of Byol. It is here that those who visit Levasseur will spend their time, for it is the only major city on the planet. So too is it one of the few locations habitable that is not entrenched in desert sands or barren mountains. The modest starport, capable of docking anything smaller than a cruiser, is situated on the far eastern stretch of Mesolia. Between the palace and star port sits the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors of the city, the industrial sector being closest to the starport, while the residential area sits closest to the palace walls. The palace itself is surrounded by fifty meter tall, twelve meter thick reinforced walls made of a permacrete, durasteel combination. It has survived countless rebellions and sieges over the generations. The planet's major export of various venom derived from the poisonous indigenous creatures, as well as toxins of the native flora, and alchemical supplies were manufactured, shipped, bought, and sold here.

Crystal Cove - Location. The 'Crystal Cove' as it has been named by the natives, is a source of both Kasha and Solari crystals. These are, on occasion, and as permitted by the government during specific 'seasons' mined for export. Each crystal is accounted for and taxed by the government to sellers of these valuable assets. Thus far there has been only a single deposit of these types of caves discovered to date, though many hopefuls continue to dig in search of more. The cave itself is carefully maintained and secured by the government, with the depths reaching over three hundred meters underground.

The Veil Of Sand - Location. The 'Veil Of Sand' is a highly volatile desert located near the heart of the planet. Hurricane winds and tornadoes are a constant, ever occurring pattern in this region. Little is known of this area, save for that most who venture into this region by mistake rarely ever find their way out. Whether this is due to some predatory species, the constant desert storm itself, or starvation and dehydration claiming the lives of those would-be travelers is unknown. Some believe that this area is home to a Sarlacc, others believe it to be some indigenous relative of the Zillo Beast. Regardless of the truth, none have survived with proof of any such claims.

Durne - Desert Town. Durne is a relatively small town, the most notable of them anyway, as there were hundreds of these desert towns, though many were considerably smaller, on the far edges of what most would consider the habitable environment of Levasseur. Notable for its' heavy production and supply of Spice (A legal trade and good of Levasseur) Durne produced roughly sixty-five percent of the total Spice on the planet. Due to the trade being a legal business entity on the planet, cartels and other drug rings that often fought for territory and clients on other worlds found no such trouble here. In fact, rarely were there ever such violent incidents. The volume of export, coupled with the dozens of product being manufactured gave those who grew, and manufactured Spice the ability to supply the demand.

Culture: Levasseur is structured as simple as possible. The ruling family dictates law and order, appointing a council of advisers, as well as the court judges beneath them to maintain those laws and see to trial and punishment of offenders. The royal family passes rule to the eldest child of each generation, be it male or female. Each king or queen is expected to, by the age of seventeen, be a capable warrior to lead their army against invasion if necessary, and to demonstrate this ability by obtaining a horn, spine, tooth, or pearl from a Krayt Dragon without the assistance of others. For this reason, the danger attached to this custom, kings and queens typically parented a dozen or more children to ensure that the lineage was not broken. Marriage itself was a custom not often practiced on Levasseur. Men and women frequently bed many partners over their lives, with bastard children born more frequently than legitimate ones. Typically marriage was something that only occurred in the more wealthy, aristocratic sections of the capital, where a sign of nobility was the act of marriage.

The planetary army consists of the entire male population who have reached the age of sixteen. As a requirement to be a citizen each male must undergo training between the ages of ten to sixteen, with their duty to serve not released until they have surpassed the age of fourty five. The palace itself shelters several hundred elite forces to oversee the city security as well as the royal family. The royal guard serves as escorts to the family of the king and queen. This force is roughly thirty five.

Slavery, while legal, is not widely practiced, as many cannot afford to purchase, feed, and house such servants. Even the more wealthy nobles found in the city prefer not to own slaves due to the stigma attached to such acts of depravity. Not all however share this sentiment, and many of the Twi'lek population do in fact find themselves enslaved by those with less than respectable moral compasses. Outside of the combat laws which forbid slaves from being forced into coliseum battles, little else is regulated by the government in regards to this trade.

Art in the form of sculptures, paint, and combat are valued by those living in Mesolia. These are the three areas where the rich spend their money most frequently. Combat in particular is a draw for the locals, featuring fight to the death matches in the coliseum once per month. These are voluntary combats, as Levasseur does not believe in forcing slaves to kill one another, however if a slave does wish to fight for their freedom, they are permitted to do so, and this binding agreement must be honored by their owner. For this reason, females are more frequently found as slaves, due to their less frequent nature to fight.

Technology: The planet of Levasseur is rather split in terms of technological accessibility. Those who live within the capital enjoy many modern galactic luxuries, with those living within the palace having access to the most prestigious luxuries. Those who reside in the smaller towns and villages spread out wildly through the deserts and mountains of the planet found that life could be quite harsh. The constant threat of predatory species, coupled with the reliance of rain water to supply their homes were more often priorities over access to the HoloNet and SpaceFlix. That being said, those with credits could always find what they were looking for, within reason. Nobody was going to be picking up a fleet of droid mercenaries without raising red flags with the government.

History: Given the extent of isolation that Levasseur has endured through the centuries, little in terms of external conflict and strife has come its' way. The constant battle and shifting of power vacuums between the One Sith, Galactic Republic, and the dozens, if not hundreds of regimes before and after have had little bearing on the planet and its' people. Due to its' obscurity, and lack of key resources to fund wars, their own environment is often little consequence to the eyes of the galaxy, and thus are left to their own devices. The most notable of recent historical events was the loss of their former king, Erylenth Tarnalys, who had ruled for little over three years before the Netherworld event hit the galaxy, tearing open holes in space-time that yielded no answers for the Levassens. Inexplicably, one day, their king simply vanished, along with hundreds, maybe even thousands of others, never to be seen from or heard from again. This had become known to the people of the planet as The Armageddon Extinction. To this day the people of the planet have found no answers to the mysteries that unfolded during those years, with most of the population far too frightened to inquire those off-worlders who visit the planet for fear that it may trigger another cataclysmic event, wiping out the population as a whole.

Because of the separation of technology between the social classes, many citizens are entirely ignorant of galactic events as a whole. The Galactic Alliance, the Republic, the Sith, and others who have risen and fallen in their time, most are passing mentions in conversations of little importance. Only those of the upper echelons of society understand the specifics of the galaxy on a greater scale. Few more even care. However, to ensure security and stability, the palace employs slicers, spies, and other individuals of questionable backgrounds to keep the government informed of those would-be invaders, or those who may seek to undermine the sovereignty that the planet holds.

For hundreds of generations the Tarnalys family have ruled over the planet, though not all have held the favor of the subjects. Several civil wars and rebellions have risen in the past, and attempts to overthrow the royal family and government were met with eradication of entire noble houses once the war had been won. The palace itself has never been breached by foreign or domestic invaders, due to the sheer number of defenses that simply overwhelm any possible advance. The last civil war ended in 822 ABY, over the supposed affair the queen had with a man from house Talcor. King Reskor Tarnalys had both the queen and the head of house Talcor executed as a result, sparking the civil war, headed by the son of House Talcor, and the family of the former queen. After a bloody and long war, at the cost of over 200,000 lives, the war was ended, and the Tarnalys family remained in power, though shortly after the king died of terminal illness. The current king, [member="Araelor Tarnalys"] is the grandson of former king Reskor Tarnalys

This is a lovely submission and the spin on legal trade of Spice is very interesting. I'm curious to see how that pans out for them as their isolation is, inevitably, broken.

Approved.
