  • Surprise!: In space up is relative to where the individual is standing; however the Levaloch is a very specialized vessel. The vast majority of its weapons are mounted in a series of batteries on the Dorsal section of the vessel; more than capable of specializing in planetary bombardment as nearly all of its weapons can be brought to bare on targets below. However another tactic is to send these vessels in a high arc above enemy fleet formations to rain down fire from above.

  • Dorsal Mounted Weapon Array: In a bizarre gamble these vessels have no weapons mounted on their ventral section of the vessel. Its weapons are primarily arrayed in a series of batteries that cover the dorsal section - as well as holding two prow mounted cannons. This means that these vessels can easily be defeated if they lack additional support vessels and are attacked from above.

In an odd gamble - with a focus on outflanking enemy fleets and positions ones own vessels where they're needed more - the Levaloch class Assault Cruiser is one for the Galactic History Books. These vessels have all of their weapons arrayed in a series of batteries along their dorsal section ensuring that they all fire downward; while this does ensure that they are very specialized is planetary bombardments, it leaves them in turn highly vulnerable to attacks on their ventral section. A counter to this can be developed by pairing these vessels with additional fire support vessels or anti-starfighter frigates.

However; it is what they excel at that makes them unique. Their primary focus is on outmaneuvering the enemy fleet - be this by speed or using friendly vessels as a screen - they attempt to bring their weapons to bear from above. If they're able to secure the 'higher ground' they can easily bombard the enemy vessels below in a hail of firepower. Likewise, as mentioned above, they are more than capable of being utilized in planetary bombardment campaigns where they can bring all of their weapons to bear on ground targets below.
