Let's Try Again

The Toryaz Station... again being used. Its first re-use was a failure with the Silver Jedi, the first negotiation that would change Kuat Drive Yards future. The Commenor Agreement had fallen through faster than ever anticipated, long before its impact could affect Kuat Drive Yards. They were threatened, attacked, and then invaded until ultimately becoming enslaved with foe 'treaties' by the Sith Empire. Ferron was doing what he could. But even with the great machines he had built, he just couldn't man them enough to have ever made any significant impact in the war to save Commenor. It was time to look elsewhere. The Republic, was an option, as long as Ferron still wanted a galactic presence, although with the dark forces blanketing much of the galaxy, he had to think about his employees, and the planet he protected. Would it all be worth it? What if it backfired?

Ferron was absolutely disgruntled by the decisions of the Silver Jedi, but the Kuat people did have some fond memories of the Republic, before they had become the Empire. One only hoped it wouldn't become that again. As per usual, Toryaz Station was being prepared once more for intergalactic negotiations, not knowing when it would be held for celebrations of peace again. The Stations and Fleets working under the Kuat Traffic Control were informed of the possible Republic visit, the checkpoint security stations told to allow them through after proving identification, and then would be escorted to Toryaz station. It was informal, but made to protect the Republic representatives. Ferron always wanted to make sure their visitors were safe, and felt safe, even in foreign space.

The Kuati Control would have no issue in getting Alexander's ship to follow along its detailed path. Afterall, Alexander was at the controls and he stuck to the closely watched path that had been laid out for him. He understood wanting protection and order, after all, it was something he himself emphasized. But it still made for good habit to show that the Republic would respond to requests of respect with full respect in turn. showing itself as greater than a single world would only make that world less interested in joining with the Republic, or atleast selling its goods.

Which is the reason Alexander had insisted on a meeting.

Alexander knew the Republic could remain in power with the shipyards of Rendili forming a deal with them, but that would not be enough to have one investor. No the Republic would need a pair of companies that since the oldest days of the Republic had stood with it. Only when the Republic had fallen, did Kuat move away from its old ally for reason of survival, and Alexander would not fault the planet or company for that in the least.

It was that thought that he brought to the front of his mind as he directed the ship into the station's hanger, carefully setting it down and smiling, his hand grabbing a cloak he had brought and keying the ramp to be opened. By the time it finished, he should be able to get back there and ready to meet whoever it was that would greet him. He had of course brought no weapons, with exception to a metal cylinder that he would be quick to present should anyone ask about weapons.

And he knew those here would know what a saber looked like.

Toryaz Station had a strict no-weapon policy. It was the only place in the Kuat sector that absolutely enforced no weapons. The Clone Troopers that fielded the security of Toryaz were the only ones allowed to have weapons, and they were stun sticks. Of course, in emergency situations, they wouldn't be left weaponless. The station had a secret armory, and for good reason. However, while everyone would think this was too much power for the Kuati, the Clones that fielded Toryaz were an entirely separate army from the rest of KDY and KSF. They were completely obedient. While they could take combat independently, mostly, this clone group were forced to follow only the Presidents orders over their own rules for protecting the Station, so they couldn't be used offensively against others. The Republic was informed of this, and the Republic already knew Kuat Drive Yards morals had changed since the old days, and were no bandits or slavers. The company prided itself on mutual respect. They wouldn't dare cause an issue that could cause the entire galactic map to take them as hostiles.

Were Alexanders metal cylinder be any kind of dangerous weapon, he would be asked to surrender it, or to leave the station. Considering the past incidents and begrudging meetings, a lot of leeway had been removed compared to what was offered in the past. Kuat Drive Yards was now a strong entity, and however kind it was to open the door for others, they were tired of opening the door and having their house wrecked. They were definitely flexing their strength now.

Alexander would notice there were Clone Troopers awaiting him at the designated hangar; a total of two. A Kuati civilian was also with them, to explain all the information to Alexander, and answer any questions he may have. Galactic people would probably think the guards were to watch the visitor or to ensure they don't break any rules, but it was actually a policy put into place by the President that any visitors to Toryaz station were made to be protected. They were protected individuals with one-time diplomatic immunity, guaranteeing even if negotiations went so sour that it may cause a war, they could not be taken into custody or made a prisoner of war. Toryaz Station was almost its own separate entity compared to everything else. It was a true neutral zone, protected by the most morally good and law-abiding company in the galaxy. Alexander would be informed of this if he didn't already know.

After going through checkpoints and customs, Alexander would be lead throughout the station to the specified meeting room. Whether Alexander would believe that the rooms on Toryaz Station are not recorded and are made to be secured at all costs from spying methods proved irrelevant as the Kuati civilian informed him, as Ferron made Toryaz Station as impressive as Kuat Orbital Array. Which means a lot of credits and effort would be obvious just by the walls. There were clone guards outside the door, and would shift with the escorting guards. Once Alexander went inside, the guards that were outside the door entered behind him, and stood against the wall behind where he would choose to sit or stand. Ferron was on the other side of the room, speaking to one of the Clone Troopers when Alexander entered the room. He turned around and smiled, "ah, the Republic representative. It's good to meet you." Ferron looked different this time, wearing his custom uniform. With only four guards in the room in total now, Ferron walked to the other side of the table to greet Alexander, and reached out his hand. "Ferron Troste, Sole Owner and Proprietor of Kuat Drive Yards, President of the Kuati Sector Forces. I hope protection was adequate and your arrival wasn't unpleasant?"
