Lets Orbital Strike Stuff

the snipers are almost pointless really, bombardment is not typically a precision piece of naval warfare. It's usually a form of saturation attack meant to soften up or demolish target area's. The precision to hit a small beacon is likely not there. It's likely just meant to target an area of a mile or so. Hell maybe down to 1000 feet or so but even so the blast radius's and such is so big I doubt it'd matter. As seen in the first KOTOR games ships often don't bother with this piece of tech as a bombardment is mostly used to terrorize planets or demolish a base.

Thats what makes these Akuma's so great though..there's three targeting systems that can be used for the most precise attack.

I see these beacons as like the best thing in the world. Imagine one of these that could shoot like a mile away. The people would never know what was going on, until it was too late.

Then have your ships begin dropping troops. The surprise would be so great, you have at most ten minutes of open window to begin taking the city. Precision matters when it comes down to it really, shoot here, watch out for our men down there. As you noticed on Kotor, the admiral didnt care that his men were still down there.
Not all of us are Nihilus, and Malak and see our troops as fodder to be wasted for reckless firing.
Not only that, this also shows just how strategic you can be, sure sometimes its fun to just start firing away, but really, I think its more fun to be precise on what am I pointing my star destroyers at.

I know trouble is this assumes you won space superiority already they already know your here. Also issue is the magnitude of the weapons typically used for bombardment are on part with tactical nukes. Precision that close doesint matter if the target and everything in 5 blocks around it goes up.

In this case the ships would be in orbit. Not on the ground the ship in star wars weigh likely 1million+ tons and the energy to get them out of the gravitational pull would be huge.
