Aoki Mira, or Mira Lettee Aoki.
Imperial Knight of the Empire.
Michael Barran's Shadow.

Landing in the tall grasses of Lothal's lonely plains, an Imperial Knight starfighter gracefully touched ground. TThe hatch to the fighter opened. Outside stepped an individual of obviously Atrisian origin. Her light Imperial Armor had the markings of the Empire, and its design had at least started pure and white. Though, as time went on, it was becoming more and more battle worn. While always tended to and cleaned, the age of the armor started to show regardless. Her expression was stuck in a permanent resting face, at least by the looks of it. She had visible scars on one side of her face, left from shrapnels of songsteel flying into her face. They were as healed as they ever were going to be, pointing to that particular battle being sometime in at least the recent past. She was experienced, even if only a little. Appearing dead inside, the woman adjusted the mask that had been pulled to the side of her face. The wind blew gently, rustling her hair. She sighed, standing atop the ship.

Well... she was here now.

She and many others within the Empire were hunting. They were hunting for Lucien Dooku, who had suddenly disappeared off the map. The Warden of the Imperial Knights, and rightful heir to Fel's throne, just poofing like that was... neither appreciated nor accepted easily.

And so, the hunt was on.

Aoki Mira, the Shadow of Michael Barran Michael Barran , wanted to try something. There was something unique about Lothal. More specifically, there was something unique about its temple. She had heard stories from her parents, both Jedi prior to their deaths, of a World Between Worlds. A time transcending plain of the Force, capable of seeing windows into countless futures, pasts, and lives. It was something she had vague knowledge on, but after some research she thought she had discovered the key to entering that realm. If she could enter, perhaps she could find Lucien Dooku through there somehow.

She bent down and picked up the naginata she had stored in her ship, hanging it on her back. She had learned through her years fighting alongside her old Sensei Jan Beroya Jan Beroya to never drop her guard. What other Force users could potentially be here, trying to unlock the secrets of this Temple? Dark Siders perhaps? She had to be prepared for anything.

She leapt down from the cockpit of her ship and, Atrisian outer robe flowing, approached the clearing where her research told her the temple was. She could sense that indeed, the Force was intent here. Furthermore, she could sense that this was a Light Side Nexus. Quite an impressive one as well. She felt the Light Side bathing her in a warmth like the sun, but for her soul. She paused, however, when she felt a splotch of sickly rot in the cleanliness of this place. Adjusting her traditional straw kasa, she peered into the other side of clearing. Did she see another figure standing in the tall grasses, approaching?

She narrowed her eyes, serious and calm as always. She sensed the Dark Side in this soul...

"Is it here?"

Close.

Not alone.

Sofiel's gaze turned slowly from the Familiar on her shoulder. Yellow eyes, alight with corruption, just scanned through the tall grass towards the marker ahead. That's where it was, no? .. Or was that the temple the Jedi resided in? Ancient Jedi, perhaps.

"Overhead."

Vorthruz took off from her shoulder, flapping it's black wings to propel itself into the sky above. To keep watch, to find the other close by. She could feel them, just as she was sure they could feel her. Interesting. She walked through the tall grass, hands clasped behind her back, eyes forward. Waiting to see the other that was there. And they already saw her. With a warm smile that could never reach the cold of her stare, she stepped into the clearing.

"An Imperial on Lothal. The Jedi wouldn't like that."

"Between the two of us," Aoki responded with a calm and collected voice, "They would disdain your presence more."

Aoki was ever reserved and calm. She lifted a hand and placed it on her naginata, controlled and slow. This redheaded Dark Sider was a blight in this Light Side Nexus. Perhaps, it was her upbringing, but she had a deep respect for the Light Side and places of reverence in the Force. Whatever this Dark Side user was doing here, she would only steal, kill, and destroy. That simply could not stand.

The Knight pulled her cortosis and phrik naginata off her back. She unclipped the weapon, Hātoshīkā, and slipped into an opening fighting stance.

"Dark Sider, no one with true respect to the Force would allow you to remain here."

She activated the repulsers on her boots, floating ever so slightly off the ground. Then, in a rapid burst of Force Speed, she shot towards the yellow eyed woman with a practiced and effective slash.

"Perhaps."

So the area was clear, at least by the whispering of her Familiar in her head. Not surprising. Any amount of Imperials here would surely bring the Jedi's attention. Even just one. But just one meant she wasn't completely out of her depth. Good. A couple of words, some feeling out this radical, and she could probably control the situation and prevent any further danger to herself. A fight wasn't what she was here f-

She blinked once, and the Knight was charging at her. Right. Jedi were the only ones who'd talk.

There was a moment of panic as her eyes caught the blade swinging at her. Only a moment as her body tried to act on instinct. One she refused to listen to. Instead she raised her hand. Pointed towards the incoming threat in that split second. Two fingers, a thumb up, almost like a gun.

"Bang."
The Force reacted. Pure energy sending a wave of the Force to stop the charge. Send her back. Anything to stop the coming strike. A fight straight out was never something she preferred, but she'd handle her own if she had to.

Sent back by a wave of the Force before she could close the distance, Aoki turned off her repulser boots and slammed Hātoshīkā into the ground to anchor herself. With several feet between her and the Sith, Mira reached and tugged her protective battle mask over her face.

She's keeping me at a distance, is that it? She pulled her naginata out of the ground. I wish I had my father's energy bow. But there is no use wishing right now...

She frowned under her mask. Lifting her naginata gracefully, she entered a stance that would allow for swifter movements. Then, she extended an empty hand towards the Sith. The two slots in her mask revealed narrowing eyes. As the wind blew, she made her move.

From her hand, a spark of white electricity crackled. Her fingertips were lit up in a bright glow as the energy formed. Not Force Lightning, a Dark Side power by nature, but something more pure and uninfluenced by rage. Electric Judgement. One of the many powers her sensei had taught her.

And so, it branched out. Swiftly, a bolt of white lightning flew towards her opponent. Even as the electricity left her hand, however, she darted left and aimed with her gauntlet. Several blaster bolts rang out after the lightning, meaning to finish in rapid succession what the lightning had not. Further, between every attack she moved closer and closer, slowly, so her opponent would not be so easily alarmed.

Her cold eyes never left the Knight as they slid back. She kept her fingers up, the same unnerving smile still on her face. A fight really wasn't what she wanted to do. This body, it wasn't ready for a fight. But, well. No choice, not any longer. Above her Familiar continued to circle, it's black eyeless mask of a face just watching for the time being. Then, lightning. A spark from her foe ripped through the silence.

In turn, a crackling red shock from her own fingers cracked out to counter the bolt.

A feint, though?

The Knight was already on the move, letting out a flurry of blasterfire towards her. The smile remained as she turned her hand, flicked her fingers upwards. The ground ruptured, rock coalescing into a makeshift shield. Then pain. She blinked before glancing to her arm. Ah. A burn of black across it was enough to show she'd been shot regardless. The smile shifted, turning to a frown. This vessel really wasn't strong enough, was it?

"Vorthruz."

The Familiar's casual flight above came to a stop as it spread it's wings. Floating unnaturally above. The white mask split down the center, revealing nothing underneath. Just an inky, black void. One that filled with a glow of red. Sofiel could see through her Familiar when she wanted. And unleash her powers from within it. Even unable to see the Knight behind the rock wall she'd made, she knew just where she was. And how she was approaching.

Lightning streaked down from above, slamming into the ground to ignite the grass on contact, all to try and hit Aoki in it's path.

The stone wall that had arisen from the ground was inconvenient. Aoki slid to a halt, pausing for a moment. How was she supposed to-

The familiar above stopped. As it unnaturally transformed, Mira looked up at it with increasing concern. This Dark Side machination got no visible response from her, but internally Mira was unnerved.

When lightning crashed down on the landscape, Aoki was swift to dodge. It did not hit her, but she could smell the fires that lightning strike had caused. With a small frown beneath her mask, Aoki gazed up at the familiar.

She lifted her hand.

A bolt of Force Light blared towards the familiar, meaning to take it down. Even if temporarily. Whether or not the familiar was hit though, it was distracted. Mira swerved around the rock shield and locked her eyes on the Sith behind. She once again attempted to close the distance between them as the fire grew behind her. Agile and fast, she extended her arm and clenched her fist. From her gauntlet, a paralyzing dart was launched towards the Sith.

She is physically fragile. Her only strength is her Force ability! If I can keep the familiar out of my hair, I can win this.

If she managed to get close, she would waste no time in an onslaught with her naginata. If not, she was back at square one.

Light?

Sofiel pulled her gaze back from her Familiar just before it was struck by the Light. She could feel her connection to it shatter. Just for a moment as it plummeted into the burning grass. .. Good, not destroyed.

"Shadow."

It'd do what it'd need to, to survive. Just like she would if she had to. The Knight was-

Her yellow eyes widened as she caught sight of the Knight around her barrier. The dart was already launched. And she felt her body freeze up as it hit her. Her body seized up as the electrical current went through it. Her body, not her eyes. They stared at the dart, then up to the Knight as she found herself falling. But not before the shadow below emerged between them. The white masked Familiar once more split open it's face to unleash another blast of lightning. Buy seconds, so Sofiel could get that dart from herself.
