Lest we forget the sacrafice of others (complete)

There were times that Rianna could feel over whelming sadness it would wash over her it would take her breath away.

Roche it held memories it was waiting to breath again, it was calling for something that it might never get. Justice for the dead came and went, trials, rulings, results, and then everyone tried to go on. But there was a hole in the flow of the force that was slowing closing taking with it the spirit of another young Jedi.

Rianna walked silently through the halls of the hospital this would be but a drop in the water to remember someone's child, someone's daughter, someone's wife, and someone's mother. Clan Ordo had thought long and hard about what they could do, House Organa offered funds, other clans, and businesses sent donations and promises of continued support.

It was good,

It was terrible what happen. But from the ashes perhaps a legacy and a story would encourage others.

The first floor was thought out, emergency room, ambulance bay, and treatment rooms. All so very pristine, shiny and nothing out of place. They weren't open yet, so...of course it was neat as a pin.

There were many ways to remember those that no longer walked among them. Holos, memories, naming a child, and other ways that Rianna did not know. She herself had known loss of her parents at quite a young age, loss of sister, but never loss of a child.

Loving her children as much as she did she could only imagine what it would feel like to have one of them taken from her. She had carried them until they emerged into a galaxy that teetered one moment on the brink of total chaos, then to shift to the other side and peace.

This what she was doing now here on Roche she did for a few reasons. First to honor a young woman who gave her life, second to help those that were in need of aide, and third so that those who needed hope could look at this building and remember the story of the young woman.

Rianna made her way to the second floor, this had been split on one side pediatrics, and maternity, on the physical therapy, and convalescence. She thought perhaps the sound of children would help with recovery.

She walked slowly, making sure the droids were installed, and the cabinets stocked.

It had taken, some time to decide what would serve Roche best, a hospital or clinics. Clinics were great for small things, cuts, broken bones, vaccinations a hospital however. Well a hospital could serve a larger group of patients, do surgery, birth babies, a hospital served more people.

The Medical Center on Mandalore was a huge faculty that also, had a research center and MandalMedical offices.

Rianna stopped to look out a window out at Roche. There were other medical facilities on Roche what would set this one apart from the others, the staff was from across the galaxy. The staff had trained on Alpha Mae, a universal healing facility. The first group of its kind.

The Third floor had the labs, the administration would be in an adjacent building and some of the doctors offices. She needed to inspect the labs they were part of the equation to would ensure the health of anyone coming to the facility.

It was then that her comm went off, they were paging her to the ER. She wasted no time and headed down, it was a quick trip since the only one on staff right now were the droids, and the first responders. The staff coming from Alpha Mae, and from The Medical Center were not set to arrive until tomorrow when the opening would take place.

She walked into the ER and found one of the teams looking over at a man, and a woman both covered in blood. "What happen?"

"Collision not sure with what but the vitals are really low, and the bleeding." Rianna nodded, the droids were already scanning for injuries, while the teams tried to stop the bleeding. "Keep working, you're doing good."

The droids were accessing their databanks for information, and then provided a holo of the body just above where each lay.

Rianna looked at the couple the holos of their condition laid out in energy before her, she listened to the staff, "broken bones, here, and her. The bleeding is starting to clot, their pain levels are still very high, probably why they have not regained consciousness. "

The teams began to separate them into separate rooms, they would need to remove the clothing in order to set bones, clean them up, and get them comfortable.

Rianna smiled, "very good, let's get them settled, assigned to rooms, and notify their family that they are here."

It was there the holo shifted over the woman. Blood was pooling in her lungs. The team hesitated for just a moment as they split to get the tools they needed to siphon off the blood from her lungs and to find the source of the bleeding.

At this moment Rianna was an observer, only meant to step in when the teams were in trouble. Their training on Mandalore had tried to cover much of the basics, those among the teams that had exhibited or wanted to learn more had been given the opportunity. They wanted to be doctors, healers, interns, more than just first responder medics. The need to know how to help had blossomed inside them and Rianna, and others of the medical community had supplied the training.

Today with this young woman, Deeanna was taking lead she had been one of those who craved knowledge and put in the time to do so. Right now Rianna was raising the funding to be able to send her to school and certification. Then she could come back and run the ER here on Roche, or any where she wanted.

It was a pleasure to know that all of this would help not only those patients but help this young woman with her future.

Deeanna worked with great care remembering all things she had been taught in the last year on Alpha Mae. She had done well in answering the questions, and while volunteering in the refugee center but this, this was as real as it could get. If she made a mistake she could kill her patient, and that she knew she would have a hard time living with.

Her fingers were nimble as they moved she wished she had Jedi senses right now instead of the medical scanner. The droids stood by offering advice and providing information on the vitals.

Rianna stood back watching ready to step in if it were warranted but so far the young woman had performed just as she had in her classes. But what bothered Rianna was how emotionless she seemed. No hint of what she was feeling could be seen on her face, but her emotions now through empathy Rianna could feel them all. But she was a Jedi, how would her team know. While it would not be right to show all, she needed to appear to have them.

Deanna bit her lip as the blood began to drip to the floor. She wanted to look at the Doctor Rianna, but she knew the moment she did, at that moment she would misjudge herself, worry that she was doing it wrong, and she wanted nothing more than to succeed. She needed to show she could do this.

Rianna could feel the intern doubting, she stepped closer whispering the encouragement was for all, and yet for one. She did not want to have her tensed by knowing the life of the woman was in her hands, or that the family was waiting nervously.

"Do what your instincts tell you, what your training has taught you, the care of your patient first...you have this. You know what to do." She looked around, "you all know what to do" She smiled, they all nodded, Deanna's eyes for a moment lingered on Rianna then she nodded and went back to work.

Soon the woman's color was rising, her breathing even out, and the fear of losing her had finally passed.

Rianna was proud of them all at this moment. When faced with real challenges they overcame their own fears, and insecurity and saved a life.

That is the foundation of this hospital she thought, to overcome the fears and do what is needed. That is what Aralyn did she gave her life for others to live. The doctors, nurses and healers of this hospital would go forward in her name and do the same.

Yes it was time to open the hospital officially.

Their first patients were settled in and the small group was gathering at the front doors. Rianna checked her speech one more time and made her way down to where they all waited.

She looked at the faces before her.

"So very many times in our lives we are given an opportunity to make choices. As doctors, nurses, healers, and midwives those moments may come a bit more often then for others. This hospital when I started was to memoralize a young woman who died in order for others to live. She did not hesitate, did not think of herself for a moment she just reacted.

Perhaps this hospital is to be something more, a symbol of what can be accomplished with cooperation and effort as well as to remember @Aralyn Rekali" It was at that moment Rianna's comm went off, normally she would not have looked at the message, but the force seemed to know and Rianna nodded and then looked. A wave a sadness hit her how would she break this to [member="Ordo"] how oh my.

She held back any tears that were welling up, "I have just received news that [member="Ember Rekali"] has joined his family" Those that knew would understand.

She felt the words she planned slip away.

"The Rekali-Gyndar Memorial Hospital is now open" Rianna pushed the doors open and walked inside a plaque would be placed soon in the lobby it was not quite done. It would detail Aralyn's sacrifice.

She stood there though lost in thoughts, it was time to go home. She missed her family.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal

In the weeks to come the hospital would gain new supporters and already there were talks of expansion news traveled to Rianna as she sat with her riduur, and her children. This was a luxury that many of the people she had met in the course of her life had not lived long enough to enjoy. A hospital was such a small thing compared to a life, and the on Roche would help those to remember but it would never compare to the life of the woman whose family name it would bear until war ravaged it or time took it.

She looked at Maeve and felt the loss of her sister again, taken too soon. She looked at Ordo who had faced death more times than she wanted to remember and this last time she had been certain he would not return, would not be here or see their children.

And now Ember was gone. Perhaps they were all growing too old to be running around the galaxy. Ordo mourned the loss of Ember. She could see her thoughts reflected in his eyes, they had grown old together, out living family and friends.

But their lives, just like Ember's all counted for something, they did their part.
